Helen and Paul married for 3 years are on holiday in Switzerland. They have a few arguments and Paul goes missing. Five years later Helen, an interior designer, accepts a job and returns to the place Paul died/missing. This is a quick and suspenseful read!

This is a short book. It had me on the edge of my seat. It was filled with many twists. The story is told from a dual POV and a dual timeline. The story is told so descriptively that I felt I was there.

Another amazing book by Miranda Rijks. I still can’t get over how incredible she is. The twists are great, and absolutely love the character development.

A mysterious read with an explosive ending. Really enjoyed it and couldn't stop reading it. Looking forward to reading more from the author.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This book is billed as a psychological thriller and it didn't disappoint. Helen's relationship with her husband, Paul, was not as open and honest as she thought as his behaviour changes on a skiing trip and he disappears. Fast forward a few years and she's been offered an amazing job opportunity which tests her mettle as it's in the same area as his disappearance.
I thought the story was cleverly - constructed, it's credible and the suspense is built gradually, releasing new information as other characters come into play. The last few chapters and ending have several unexpected twists; it didn't end how I thought it would! A new author for me to follow.

I have read several of Miranda Rijks books and have enjoyed them all so far. This one didn't disappoint.

It is nice to read the descriptions of the area and you can almost imagine being there. As others have said though it is a bit grating that the narrator compliments everyone on how well they speak English.

The story itself was predictable but still enjoyable to watch it unfold. I will definitely read more of her books.

Helen's been offered an opportunity to renovate a chalet in the Swiss Alps. She's interested, but her husband went missing years ago while skiing there and she's concerned about facing her demons.

She takes the job but there's more disappearances and dead bodies. Is there something more sinister at play?

Thank you to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for the digital copy to review.
Overall a compelling read, that I would recommend. This is my first by M Rijks, and look forward to reading more from her.
This one was good! This story is fast paced , the storyline is riveting, it keeps to the story rather than unnecessary tangents, it has lots in it that keeps you hooked on it and bringing you back too it.

I flew through this one and read it in a couple of sittings. Rijks is becoming a must read author for me and I am enjoying her style of writing. I had a few things figured out with this one but not all, and I was entertained by this one the entire time. I loved the setting of Switzerland as well as the characters, though not all are good people obviously, and I liked the surprises in here from a couple of folks I was not expecting at the end.

Thank you to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for the digital copy to review.

Psychological thriller which was a bit obvious. Horrible characters and not a great plot.Only kept reading to find out what happened at the end.

This thriller almost felt more like a drama than mystery at times, especially as you learn everything (almost) that’s happened. Helen’s husband is missing and presumed dead in the Alps while they’re vacationing and she is newly pregnant. Five years later she is offered a short term job there and while there she is sure she sees him, which sets off a chain of events. The story is told through two main POVs, one of which is much more likable than the other. I was unsatisfied with the end but enjoyed feeling immersed in the Swiss mountain setting.

I read a digital ARC of this book for review.

I typically love this author. I don't really understand what happened. It's almost like someone else wrote this book for her and put her name on it.
This one wasn't a winner for me, and I'll probably try her again, but this novel could have done with a editor that will actually edit.

Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC. This is my honest review.
I was a little nervous when reading this book. This is my first Miranda Rijks book. I liked the setting but the storyline wasn’t clicking with me as I was reading. I chose to continue this book so that I can provide my honest opinions. This book came to a close super quickly and was not satisfying.

I was really in the mood for a good thriller but I’m DNFing this one at 20%. I loved the setting and the initial intrigue definitely pulled me in, but as the story goes on I’m getting more and more bored by the basic language and dialogue and the straightforward-ness of the domestic conflict. Part of me wants to stick around to see what the twists are; but it’s not holding my attention enough for me to stick it out.

Overall A+ for the setting; but starting to bore me otherwise.

Miranda Rijks knows how to write a nail biter of a physcological thriller and that is exactly what this is . The setting of the resort made it more spooky and you can feel the cold of the snow. The characters are superbly presented and the plot well thought out and setting is divine.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC! I liked it but didn't get excited to go back to it. It was slow in parts and i rate it a 3.1

Five years ago, Helen lost her husband. Now she may lose her life.

Five years ago, Helen’s husband Paul went missing while skiing in the Swiss Alps. His body was never found, but he is presumed dead because no-one could have survived a night on that freezing mountainside.

Miranda Rijks is another author I found on Amazon that never seems to disappoint. This one takes place in the Swiss Alps while she is renovating a cabin as a designer in the same area her husband went missing years earlier. This is short book that packs a good amount back story, character development and plot without dragging or losing content (you all know what I mean). She gets to the point and keeps in engaging and surprises you right at the end.

Big thanks to Miranda Rijks and Netgalley for access to this advanced copy!
