I loved it so much ! This is not a full 5 stars because that was too dark at some point for me, and I didn’t knew that was this dark.
But overall, loved it. Especially, the relation between Lucius and Doyle/ Sara and Doyle/ Tucker and Doyle … yes kind of liked Doyle lol
I was more into the plot than the romance and it is telling that was good because I am more of a romance girl. And also I cried at the end because LUCIUS.
To conclude, this book is a nearly favorite book of 2023.

Sara is a successful prosecutor. After a difficult but successful case she decided to enjoy a drink and relax in a bar. And that's where she met him, a tall, handsome man with wonderful dark eyes that he couldn't take off of her. She immediately felt a great attraction to him and thought that this man would define her life from now on. And that's exactly what happened when she met him again in the court room.

And this how a strong relationship begins, a strong chemistry between Sara and Luke. Two strong individuals who have been through a lot in their lives and who together will discover each other and protect each other in the difficult times to come.


Even though it's a story with supernatural content, like vampires, demons and werewolves, it's so realistically written that it doesn't feel unrealistic, which I found quite interesting. It is also a steamy romance with the right amount of spice for me. I liked that the author gave importance to how the relationship between them developed.

If you love steamy, dark fantasy romances with a mystery plot then you should definitely read this one!

This was a great read. The plot was excellent and really caught my interest. It was full of surprises and i couldn't put it down once i started it. The characters were amazing and had a really good chemistry.

I believe this is a 3.5 ⭐️ that does not mean is bad! Do not think so!
It really is a good read, the plot is fantastic and interesting! However, I would say it is not for my taste but it did keep me entertained.
This is a book that has a bit of mystery solved and of course, its romance side, this is a 🌶🌶🌶/5 in terms of spice level, the right amount I will say. I do recommend the reading.

New to me author Ms. James draws me into a paranormal fantasy of intrigue, conspiracies and vengeance. I love it! My only regrets are taking too long to review the book and finding out I missed out on the opportunity to read the arcs for the following books. Never fear, they are on Amazon and I will be buying the next 3 books shortly.

Sara is a prosecutor who is actively working on making sure criminals are prosecuted and put behind bars. Her father's unexplained death has haunted her for years and shaped her to be the effective lawyer she is today. Sara may come across as a hard hitting aggressive lawyer, but she hides a side of herself from everyone else. She believes in more than what she can see and touch. She believes in the supernatural and she just needs to find more evidence.

Sara's meeting with Luke finally validates her beliefs. This story unwinds in an unexpected manner. I understood and could easily follow how Sara is tapped for a special division. This MIB-esque world is fantastic with creatures of lore coming to life. I would be wide eye curious and probably getting myself into heaps of trouble. Sara remains unflappable and does her job.

There are several subplots going on in this story and they at first glance seem to be disjointed. When the pieces start to fit together, it paints a bleak and dark picture. I like where this is going. Learning the history between Sara and Luke kind of blew my mind. I enjoy being surprised. This paranormal fantasy is recommended to romance reader who love sleeping with the enemy themes.

Loved the paranormal feels…. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the copy. What a gorgeous book! The author has a great gift for characterisation - nuanced, interesting, believable people but created with a charming lightness of touch.

I mean what more do you need from a tag line.
The premise is smartly written and expertly carried out, centered on a relationship between a vampire hero on the run and the mortal lawyer put on the case to permanently take him down. Sara just prosecuted her biggest case, and she won. During her celebration, she meets the tall, dark, and handsome man, Luke, and her life is forever changed. A well-written story with some fun, unexpected plot twists. It was interesting getting insight into so many characters thoughts and a world that's somewhat different from your typical fantasy. I hope we get more of Doyle's story in a future installment.

A dark, fantasy romance with a mystery/thriller twist, I loved this book! The spice, the suspense, the characters.. Everything about this book was 5 stars.

I loved this book!!! It was so so good. Luke and Sara are so perfect. I loved how she thought he was human when they met. She had no idea!! It was awesome. This was the best dark romance I read and I will definitely be reading more of them.

What a dark and sensual ride! Loved this book it was a good read and the authors writing was great. I am very excited to see what else she releases!

Overall, writing and plot are well-built and captivating. It's easy to get into the story even with the dark theme. However, I must say that this book has too many characters introduced in the book and the multiple povs confused me most of the time which led me to feel lost. I would appreciate it more if there is a character's name on each chapter to show which pov are we reading right now.

rounded this up to a 5 because I was on the edge of my seat and really enjoyed this read.

After reading this book, one of the first things that I noticed was that this book was not what I expected. I really believe when I initially saw that this was a book containing vampires, I was instantly attracted to it. To top it all off the cover of this book was phenomenally beautiful. However, I found that this book was very long and the change in characters was a bit confusing . Unfortunately, there wasn’t as much spice as I would’ve liked, but I really did enjoy the chemistry and the banter between the two characters. I truly believe that the plot twist was very well thought out, and I like how the author incorporated logic, and did not completely write in un-logical evidence/ motives. I truly believe that this book has a great foundation and I can definitely see the attraction to this book. However, I don’t believe that this book was necessarily right for me with that being said, I really do appreciate the opportunity for reading an advanced copy of this book!

If you're looking for a steamy paranormal romance then this book will be right down your alley. However, I just got bored reading it to be honest. There was nothing keeping me hooked or on the edge of my seat, nothing setting it apart from their paranormal romances. So, if you're looking for a steamy vampire book to escape into then you'll likely enjoy this book. If you're looking for something innovative in that genre, then likely not. Either way, it wasn't my cup of tea but I could understand the appeal.

Loved Luck and Sara’s story. She’s a prosecutor, a dang good one! He’s the mysterious stranger whose eyes meet hers in a bar after a particular difficult case. Soo what’s to keep a girl from having some stress relief, except when they meet eye to eye again in a court room where he’s the defendant or is he?

Embrace Me Darkly is a thrilling and captivating Vampire romance novel with aspects of a crime thriller mixed in. The characters, although supernatural were relatable and the story hooked me!

First of all I just want to say the spice in this one had me burning up 🔥🔥

With lots of characters you really get a deep look into the story.

Anything paranormal and dark has me hooked recently and I cannot wait to read the next books in the series asap!!

I wasn’t sure about this book at the start. It had a very noir feel to it. I warmed to the book. I think it would be a great book for someone who hadn’t ever read a supernatural/fantasy book. It’s set in a very relatable world with a relatable female lead. It is a crime thriller with vampires, demons and werewolves in the mix. There were some life altering changes or information that didn’t get the attention it deserved. Her father and her new job needed more attention than it got. They were both major plot devices that seemed unfinished. Overall it was an exciting thriller.
