I found this paranormal romance to be well written but predictable. On the whole, thecharacters were two dimensional and not terribly interesting. Two characters did catch my interest, Sergei and Petra. I'd like to learn more about their back stories and hope they figure more prominently in the next book as it's clear this will be a series.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Embrace me Darkly by Kira James. I heard of this book when Jennifer L. Armentrout shared it in her Jlanders group. When I read the blurb for it, I knew it was right up my alley. I read the prequel novella Crave me Roughly before reading Embrace me Darkly. That book gave me some insight into Sara and Luke. I do suggest reading it before Embrace me Darkly since it gives you some good info. I won’t go into details because I don’t want to spoil anything.

Embrace me Darkly is the first in the series. And it kind of reminded me of Kelley Armstrong’s otherworld series. The book does have a pretty good twist that I loved. And of course Luke is a swoon worthy vampire, who wants nothing more than to protect Sara at all cost.

Overall, I really enjoyed Embrace me Darkly and I look forward to the next book in the series.
