I went into The Nanny without knowing anything and whoa, just whoa. I did not expect that level of 🔥!! It is the story of Cassie, a woman who takes a job as a nanny to make ends meet and realizes that her hunky boss was a regular when she was on Only Fans. I mean, if I read that short summary, I would have not been so surprised by this book but I jumped in totally unprepared. This was a fun fluffy romcom - Cassie was very likable, it was easy to get swept up in the romance, the supporting characters were all a perfect way to add humor (the neighbor especially had me cracking up) and sweetness so it wasn’t all just pure 🔥. Pub day is tomorrow.

Our main character Cassie finds herself in a financial rut when she loses her beloved job working with children. Wanting to continue chasing her dreams, she's desperate for just about anything- except going back to her time as a model on OnlyFans. Yes, the site has brought her an abundance of money in the past, but after her favorite subscriber left her to the dust, she finds herself in a pickle.

That is, until she stumbles upon a Ad for a live-in nanny. The job seems too good to be true, but soon enough Cassie finds herself working under busy single-dad, Aiden. Suddenly the pair finds themselves intertwined in more ways than they know.... that is, until Cassie realizes that dreamy Aiden is actually her favorite subscriber from OnlyFans! Unbeknownst to Aiden, Cassie struggles with that secret fact as the two fall deeper for one another. Will Cassie reveal her secret? If so, how will Aiden react? You're going to have to read to find out!

A fun, modern day love story. I feel like this couple had moments early on where we see insta-love happen, but at the same time a lot of the actual spice doesn't happen until about 50% in. But there is plenty of it in that last half, so readers looking for a different take on a contemporary romance will rejoice. The book itself was well-written, but there were times I didn't like Cassie's choices since she's technically a grown woman and there were a few situations in which the humor felt forced. In all, I round 3.5 stars up to 4.

Oh my was this book a lovely unexpected favourite! This book was spicy and heart felt and I truly fell in love with the characters. Loved the premise (nanny and chef) but there is a hidden past between the two that is teased through out the book. Angsty, steamy, wonderful. Highly recommend!

Lana Ferguson's debut, The Nanny, immediately caught my attention with its unique premise and lovable characters. I was quickly drawn in by the author's writing style and found myself invested in the characters from the start. This contemporary romance is steamier than some might expect, featuring an open-door approach. I particularly enjoyed how each chapter began with a flashback to the characters' online relationship. Wanda, Cassie's best friend, was a standout character for me, offering unwavering support. However, I did wish for more chapters from Aiden's perspective, more dialogue between him and Cassie to address miscommunication and to better build their chemistry. Overall, I recommend The Nanny to romance readers who enjoy single dad, forced proximity, and workplace tropes, as well as those who prefer their romance on the steamier side.

I loved it! I didn't really know what to expect and wasn't sold completely on the premise, but the execution and writing was just spot on. I loved the main characters, Cassie and Aiden. I thought they had great chemistry and the spice was just perfect. I also loved Sophie and Wanda. I can't wait for this one to be released!

Cassie is working hard to put herself through school to become an occupational therapist. She comes across a job posting for a nanny position that pays extremely well, and she decides to apply. Despite an awkward interview, she is drawn to her boss, Aiden, immediately. After moving in, Cassie and Aiden have an undeniable connection that they both try to fight. Not only that, but Cassie realized there’s a reason that Aiden seems familiar to her.

I really enjoyed this steamy, hilarious rom com! The main character, Cassie, is hilarious and self deprecating, and really makes you empathize with her due to her difficult and traumatic upbringing. The banter is witty and the spice is high in this book! If you enjoy a steamy open door romance with a single dad and funny dialogue, this book is perfect for you. The only real critique I could add is that I wanted more in terms of romance and sweet moments between Cassie and Aiden. There definitely are some, but I would have loved even more! I’m excited to read more from Lana Ferguson, she is clearly a talented writer!

Thank you to Berkley Romance, Lana Ferguson, and Netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This week I listened to the Nanny and whooo is this spicy! But there’s a very genuine love story as well.

Cassie is desperate for a new job and takes one as a live in nanny for a single dad and his 9 year old daughter. Sophie has gone through several nannies after the death of her mother. Cassie is dedicated to this job because she wants to be the one nanny that sticks around and also this job pays more than any other job.

She was using Only Fans to make some fast cash when she met “A”. He started paying her for private time and they had started something special. They even talked about meeting up in person. But he disappears suddenly one day and Cassie is devastated. She quits and tries to move on.

Once Cassie starts working for Aiden, they have immediate chemistry. But Cassie needs this job and doesn’t want to ruin it. They eventually get closer and sparks fly. She sees a scar on Aiden’s chest and she knows she has found “A.”

This is a 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ for me at least and I’m not sure it was all necessary. I really liked the real connection between Aiden and Cassie who both are working out issues from their past. I also loved Cassie’s friend Wanda who added a lot of humor to the novel.

Thank you so much to @prhaudio and @berklyromance for my gifted ALC.

Thank you so much to Berkley Romance for an advance copy of this book!

I will be honest. I wasn't sure what to think about this book in the first 25% as it just felt like an okay book but as it went on, more and more I was becoming attached to these characters. I gravitated towards this book just from the very first line of the description. I didn't need to see anything more. I knew it was going to be my kind of book.

"You can have good things, but you have to let yourself have them."

Quick Recap of book: Cassie is looking for a full time job while finishing up school. She previously was a sex worker with an anonymous account on OnlyFans but abruptly stopped after one of her biggest customers suddenly ghosted her and she didn't feel the need to go back. Cassie answers an ad for a live-in nanny - enter Aiden and Sophie. Cassie realizes pretty early on that Aiden was her former customer on her OnlyFans and is afraid of telling Aiden and messing things up.

I just love the relationship that Cassie has with everyone in this book. Her relationship with Wanda proves that found family are just so important. Her relationship with Aiden's daughter Sophie was so sweet and you could tell that Sophie really valued Cassie's presence. Cassie just has this way with people that is just so special. I can't even say that the banter was great between Cassie and Aiden but it also was fun reading her interactions with Sophie and Wanda.

I do think that Cassie made the mistake and overreact during the 4th quarter shakeup that a conversation could've fixed it all. But all she knew was to run away separate herself from the issue. And there were times where I wasn't sure how Cassie didn't realize the overlapping of the time Aiden disappeared from OnlyFans with his baby mother's death. It had kept being brought up and even was interfering with their potential future which just didn't make sense But alas I still love her character and everyone is flawed.

"I'm offering you my whole damned life, if you want it."

The character Iris was an interesting one! Clearly still grieving over her sister's death, she is taking her anger with that and taking it out on Cassie. Honestly though do most siblings of a deceased get that protective of a niece when there is a supportive, capable father in the picture?! That probably was the most unrealistic aspect of the book (aside from the kismet of Aiden & Cassie finding one another).

I paired this with the audio courtesy of Penguin Random House and when I got to those spicy parts halfway and in the 4th quarter, my goodness I was blushing! The door was wide open and my goodness it just did not disappoint. I honestly was waiting for them to get caught a few times with just how things were going. Aiden was just so swoony.

This book just made me happy and despite the length (which probably could've been edited down a bit), I thoroughly enjoyed it all and didn't want it to end.

I debated back and forth on what I wanted to rate this book and ultimately it still makes me smile days later and so I have to give it the 5 star approval.

I am so excited to see what else Lana Ferguson does & will be looking forward to reading her 2nd book later this year.

Overall rating: 4.5

The Nanny is definitely a top 10 romance of 2023 for me. I can't believe this is Lana's debut novel! I loved the relationship between Aiden and Cassie. Their chemistry was so amazing. For a spicy romance this story was perfection to me. I was also drawn to Cassie's friendship with Wanda. Having a senior citizen for your best friend/found family is something so special and I loved how Lana delved into their relationship throughout the story. Sophie is the cutest daughter and smarter than she let's on. I am now such a fan of Lana's writing and I can't wait for her second book coming out later this year.

Many thanks to Berkley and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Fun, witty, and downright romantic, The Nanny is a story about loving who you are and finding the strength and courage to accept love for yourself.

When Cassie takes a job as a new nanny, she never expects her personal life to collide with her professional one. But when she discovers she knows her boss from a previous romantic online relationship, she’s at a loss of what to do—continue working for him taking care of his daughter or tell him the truth and risk losing her job. And as she gets to know him in person, Cassie realizes she may be falling for him…again.

This read was funny, sweet, spicy, and had a touch of heartfelt moments. I loved the idea of bringing the found family trope to a romance novel. I thought it added an endearing dimensionality to the story while pulling at my heartstrings as Cassie found herself building strong connections with both Aiden and his daughter.

The romance was filled with mutual pining, forced proximity, and simmering tension, and I was 100% here for it! I thought the two were so adorable, and their dynamic was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I did wish for the depth of the relationship to develop further by the end of the novel, with them connecting more emotionally and growing into a reignited relationship. But overall, it was a great pick-me-up read that was fun and easy to fall into.

If you’re looking for a read that’s light and full of swoon-worthy romance, keep this new book in mind!

3.5/5

Thank you so much to Berkley Romance and Netgalley for providing an advanced copy of this. All thoughts and opinions are still my own.

This is one of those books with a premise that immediately pulled me in. This synopsis was everything I love and look for in a romance. And while I think the premise and idea of this story were FANTASTIC, I think this debut fell a little short in execution.

Let's start with what I loved!

First of all, I think the entire idea of this story was amazing. The setup of a woman on OnlyFans falling for a subscriber and then again in real life - mixed with forced proximity? Chef's kiss.

I love the single dad trope, when children are written as children but still likable, forced proximity, awkward sexual tension that no one can act on. All good.

But some of the transitions and conflict lost me.

One thing I noticed while reading this, is the contact and communication between the mc's was initiated the same way. Over and over again. Which made this book feel somewhat formulaic.

The characters would think about something the wanted to discuss, stand in the kitchen in the middle of the night, and be surprised when the other one walked - in fact the phrase "that must have been why I didn't know (s)he was there" was used multiple times.

Not only was much of the plot progression cyclical, but the conflict itself didn't have much depth. So the length to which it was drawn out felt too long. And then the actual conflict culmination was just too over the top.

This is definitely a case of a main character throwing themselves under the bus "for everyone else's own good". And it just felt silly and immature when the hero was right there asking her for a conversation...

But there were definitely pockets and moments that completely swept me up into this romance. I thought the chemistry and tension were well written. And this book was fantastically steamy.

Overall, I'm really interested to see what this author does next since this was her debut. I think this had some things that could have been more developed, but I loved the bones of this story and think future books could be AMAZING.

I liked that Cassie, one of the main characters, was goal oriented and best friends with a 70 year old woman. Cassie was a bit naive but knew what she wanted and how to get it done, and without getting outrageous student loan debt either. She was young, but not young enough to make the romance seem icky. Aiden was a young 30 year old, single dad, head chef, lonely man. His eyes sounded lovely. {Read the book, you will agree.} I liked the character development but wasn’t a fan of her miscommunication and hiding. That trope always makes me roll my eyes. Luckily it wasn’t too bad, but it was mentioned often enough.

Talk about steamy. This book is NOT for closed door romance fans, that’s for sure. Just giving you a heads up.

This might be one of my top reads this year! I binged this book because the sexual tension was eating me up!!! The way the author writes has a way of sucking you in! I love a single parent trope and a nanny trope even more and this book hit it out of the park for me!

I really wish I liked this more than I did. It had the premise to be such an enjoyable read, I really thought I was going to eat it up. But unfortunately, I didn’t. There was something about it that I just didn’t connect with.

Cassie and Aiden were cute, but I wasn’t involve with them. Their relationship started off really good but then it plateaued. The saving grace for this book were Sophie, the daughter and Wanda, Cassie’s elderly neighbor. Alssssso, this book was HOT so it made me much through.

Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for the eARC!

This was a DNF for me - I made it 150 pages but it was way too cringe... no shame in having an Only Fans account, get your $$ honey, BUT the chef was just.... cringey. Like, a $50 tip as a "thanks" for chatting? Awkward. I just wasn't rooting for them after that.... it just cheapened their connection IMO.

Read if you like: Dual POV, boss and nanny, forced proximity, single dad, spicy 🔥

Omg! The tension and spice in this book are off the charts. 🔥 I am obsessed with this couple. This was so funny, so charming. I thought I knew what I was getting into with a boss and nanny storyline, but I had no idea. This is so much more. It's so different. It was perfect. I loved this book so much. I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this. I highly recommend it! I will read anything and everything Lana writes.

A single father and prior OnlyFans turned nanny love story. It’s a prime set-up for a steamy story but with some heart. I loved the overall plot and arc but didn’t totally love the execution. There are a lot of repetitive situations and thoughts. All they seemed to do was run into each other half naked in the kitchen, have the same conversation, repeat ad nauseam. Additionally, Cassie just monologues to herself in circles. It lessened the actual connection between the leads.

I enjoyed Cassie and Aiden to an extent, they had great backstories and motivations, but they were overshadowed by secondary characters. What time we do get from the supporting cast is a lot of fun. My only complaint about the amazing Wanda is her final lesson. She spends the entire book being a badass unconventional queen and then she rolls it all back. I was so disappointed.

I also wish the perspectives were evenly split. It’s 95% Cassie’s POV with only a few chapters from Aiden. It felt off. Still, it was an easy, and fast, read that hit some of those key romance tropes and worked as a palette cleanser. A little bit, sometimes a lot (the end shakeup), ridiculous but it’s also a fun escape, despite my criticism. It’s just a matter of what you’re in the mood for.

a book about a girl becoming a nanny for a hot single dad, who also happens to be A CHEF, just to realize he was her top fan on onlyfans?? yeah it wasn’t a want, it was a NEED,

I loved this book so much! Cassie's relationship with Sophie was so pure. If you’re a romance fan and like them on the smuttier side but still want a plot this was great!

SUMMARY: Grad student Cassie Evans is in a tight spot after losing her job, so when she sees a want ad for a live-in nanny, she jumps at the chance. Little does she know, the father of her new charge is a handsome chef. Will Cassie’s secret past as an OnlyFans performer derail her current gig…and budding relationship with her roommate/employer? 👀
