Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.

This is a very good addition to the Billie Carlson series by Anna Smith and I found this to be an exciting and thrilling read which was very fast paced with lots of action. Billie is asked to find out what happened to an old friends sister after she is found dead, and her investigations lead her to a criminal gang who will stop at nothing to warn her off. Billie as a character is really growing on me and I liked her much more in this book. She is feisty, determined, brave and I love her friendship with Scanlon and the relationships she has with ex police colleagues. I really liked the different story threads here, and loved that the story took place in different countries, although I felt the death of her friends sister got a little lost at times, with the focus more on the criminal gang. The ongoing thread from the previous book - Billies search for her missing son - carries on here and the last part of the book is a very riveting, tense read where I had no idea how things would go for her. Overall, a very good and engaging read, with a very believable plot line and I thought the story flowed well throughout. I’ll be eager to get my hands on the next book to find out what Anna Smith has in store for Billie.
