I did not read this book through an educator's lens.

Sevel Rules for Breaking Heart by Kristyn Miller was great! I appreciated the creative twist on a typical trope of best man/maid of honor. The social media world/podcasting world was well done and discussed. The character development is what drew me into the plot and I genuinely cared what was happening to Go & Jo!

I LOVE IT!!!

I thought this was a cute book, but I don’t feel like it was necessarily for me. I didn’t love the characters or the self sabotage. Overall, it’s a cute story. I know others loved it, I recommend checking their thoughts on it.

Overall, this was a cute and fun vacation read for me! I will always tear through a book while im on vacation but this one was a little harder to get through because it took me a minute to get into but the more I read, the more that I enjoyed it. The relationship between Margo and Declan was definitely cute because you can never go wrong with a rivals to lovers trope, but at the end of the day I was left wanting more out of their relationship even after the clever banter happening throughout the book.

what a cute book! I really enjoyed the destination/forced proximity aspect as well as the characters. The podcast element was a nice addition. There was good banter which I always enjoy and they seemed to have a flow between them when Margo wasn’t obsessing about high school (10 years prior). Speaking of that my biggest complaint was that it seemed like she was overly hung up on high school. Yes, he played a few pranks on you but it didn’t seem like anything that would warrant holding that big of a grudge for 10 years. Other than that it would make a quick fun beach/pool day read.

DNF @ 44%. As hard as I tried, I just couldn’t get into this one. I found the main character to be kind of insufferable and the love interest boring, and I didn’t feel any chemistry between them either.

Seven Rules for Breaking Hearts was cute and fun. A perfect summer read with lots of outdoor fun. I thought the growing that Margo and Jo both did as they realized they've outgrown the single life podcast they were doing was well done. My only issue with the book was the incident at the wedding, mostly because I think it's crappy thing to do.

I am always such a fan of books about podcasts, but I guess I prefer those to be thriller oriented. I found the podcast, influencer and com part of this rom com to be a little lacking, I did enjoy the enemies to lovers, second chances and forced proximity part of the book.

I was a fan of Declan and rooted for him to change Margo’s mind.

Internet influencers and podcasters have a brand to sell, but sometimes living their own lives is a contradiction. I really enjoyed how this mixed that theory with a "How to lose a guy in 10 days" type theme! It was entertaining, funny, and lovable all at the same time. I definitely found this to be enjoyable and I think anyone that is on social media will also enjoy and connect with this book.

I am not going to lie, this was a hard book for me to get into at first. Nonetheless, I kept going and it turned out to be an amazing time. I was a little scared with the influencer and podcast being in the book because sometimes that does scare me and just does not vibe with me, but it turned out to be amazing.

This was a cute read! I enjoyed the slow build between Margo and Declan, and I'm always a sucker for an "enemies-to-lovers" romance.

I initially had a hard time getting into Margo's character...it just didn't quite make sense to me but as I continued to read through, things started to piece together with her history, her personality and why she had the rules to begin with!

A quick, easy, and super fun read! I’m not always the biggest fan or books that set up a character that hates love or relationships simply because it’s a romance novel, we know how it’s going to end. But I think Margo as a character was captivating enough for me to bypass such a major plot line as well as the pacing of the book moving us along quickly. Childhood enemies is such a fun trope and I think Miller did such great job with this book!

Characters were unlikeable and for me the whole story fell flat, I had a very hard time finishing this book.

I was hooked from the beginning. The concept of this book is so cool! It was just so good.

It’s a rom com about two supposed enemies that meet 19 years later when their best friends get married. While the male lead is likable, you don’t know him outside of his interactions with our female lead. And she was a bit problematic at times because she was anti commitment but the reasons why didn’t feel clearly articulated. It’s a perfectly fine book and I enjoyed reading it, but I was hoping for just a little bit more of that indescribable something.

Margo and Jo run a viral podcast giving advice on how to hook up without catching feelings, but when Jo surprises her by deciding to get married, Margo is left to figure out how to keep her disappointed listeners happy.

This was a fun story. Though the MC Margo was not my favorite. I don’t love characters that self sabotage for no real reason.
I enjoyed the romance between Margo and Declan. I wish we could get a prequel of them in high school. Just sounds so fun.

Overall this was a cute story and I recommend it.

This was a fun read! Go and Jo host a podcast together about being single, dating, one night stands, and not committing. But when Jo is about to get married, Go doesn't know where that leaves her and the podcast.

Go is not happy to be paired up with former classmate and Best Man Declan. Their banter is stellar and you can see the sparks. He has been in love with her since high school but she didn't know. Watching their relationship come to be was fun!

Honestly, in the best way possible, Margo was an unlikeable narrator for me. Miller hit the nail a little too hard on the head of her personality and I didn't like being called out like that. She had very strong beliefs on how her life, and her best friends should be run... or more specifically, how the podcast and social media should run those lives.

I understand the chase for likes, and comments and praise that comes with social media. I struggle with rejection sensitive dysphoria as a result of my ADHD and damn did I feel that strongly out of Margo. She let it control her life and negatively impact her relationships.

Rivals to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and this was one of the first times I got to experience that grudgeholding effect of it having been since childhood. Like Margo hadn't even seen Declan in years. that was commitment on her part, and watching her go from oogling him to being so angry at realizing who he was was priceless.

Declan was honestly perfect embodiment of every popular kid I knew in high school. doing stupid things for attention and not understanding how some actions had hidden consequences for the other person. In a way it felt healing to see the POV of a guy like that and that its more childhood ignorance rather than a desire to do real harm.

Watching these two grow together in different ways was a pleasure. on the opposite times, I often felt some of the story telling in this novel was slow for me. It almost felt like toooo many different elements coming together and at times the author felt they needed a scene added for plot, that really didn't add anything to the story. If I could've changed anything I probably would've removed the wedding venue social media requirements. It added an extra layer of conflict that felt overbearing and forced. most of the chapters with these scenes could've happened for the sole reason of Jo wanting to have bridal party bonding time (zip lining and kayaking) rather than feeling forced. It was fine within the story but didn't add anything ground breaking to the story for me.

That is honestly my only criticism, and it's obviously not significant enough because I still gave this book 4 stars. It was just a fun good read and I loved the flipping between podcast episodes and story. If you are looking for a quick rivals to lovers beach read, I highly suggest picking this novel up.

I don’t know what it is about this book but I read it in about 3 hours! I totally fell for Declan and know what it is like to be a Go. As a social media manager myself I work hard to keep myself out of the content I create for a reason. Many of the reasons Go contends with in the book. The podcast romance is a bit overdone but I enjoyed the book outside of the initial set-up.

This is the perfect beach read for the summer with interesting characters, a swoon-worthy guy, and a dreamy location. If you are looking for 30-somethings looking to get to that new stage of life with a little bit of mystery this book is great.
