I used to enjoy Joshilyn Jackson books, but this one did not hit the mark for me. The story was good, but I didn't enjoy reading it.

Meh… it was okay. It was good and not bad.

I found myself border at times. When the story started coming together at the end, I had some more questions. Then the ending just ended. So I was left with those questions.

This book is described as a hair-raising story, but I thought it was far from that. Super slow and felt like there was not a plot. Very unlikeable characters and too many povs which made it hard to follow. I really had high hopes for this one and with the description sounded intriguing with the whole premise about an actress outrunning her stalker, but I felt it missed the mark. Thank you Netgalley & William Morrow for this ARC is exchange for an honest review.

Meh! I found this one to be too long, too slow, it had too many POV, and what an unsatisfying ending. I didn't hate it, but I didn't really enjoy it either. I just wanted to be done, which is never a good sign.

For actress Meribel Mills, disturbing fan mail is part of the price of fame. So when she starts getting creepy letters written in fruit-scented marker she is mostly unphased and diligently files them along with her other messages from unhinged fans. After all, she’s a single mom approaching forty, not the kind of hot young celeb who sparks dangerous obsessions. But there’s something different about Marker Man… He’s been in her home… Meribel’s sheets smell of unfamiliar cologne, and objects have gone missing around the house. Plus, the letters have become more perverse, with drawings of a naked Meribel tied up or chopped into pieces. While the police insist that stalkers hardly ever escalate to violence, Meribel has played the dead girl one too many times on TV to risk becoming her in real life. She and her daughter move from Los Angeles to Atlanta for a fresh start—but no distance is great enough. He’s watching her…

I didn't get a chance to download before the link expired. Read the title on another platform and gave it 3 stars.

I loved the stalker story and the book cover is stunning! The characters weren't my favorite but that worked well for the book.

enjoyed the stalker theme and the realistic thoughts and actions of Meribel's autistic daughter, Honor. However, I was very disappointed in the abrupt ending. This book would get five stars if it tied up the loose ends with an epilogue

I really enjoyed this book! It had some twists and turns that I did not see coming! Books that make me want to stay up past midnight reading are the best and this one definitely fit in that category. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book! I will certainly recommend it to all of my reading friends!

I typically enjoy Joshilyn Jackson's thrillers, but "With My Little Eye" just didn't do it for me. The characters were boring and unrealistic, and the constant switching of the points-of-view didn't do much for the plot.

I was sadly disappointed in this thriller/domestic drama. I expected more out of it. Did I love it? No. Did I hate it? Also no, but I also did not really like it either. It was okay. I just wanted a lot more. It was really slow, for a thriller, and when the big reveal happened, I was like, "Oh, is that it?"

3⭐
Genre ~ psychological thriller
Setting ~ Atlanta, Georgia
Publication date ~ April 25, 2023
Est page Count ~ 332 (p+ 40 chapters)
Audio length ~ 12 hours 33 minutes
Narrators ~ Maisy Jane, Graham Halstead, Jeremy Arthur, Jesse Vilinsky, Michael Crouch
POV ~ single 1st, multiple 3rd
Featuring ~ former actress being stalked

Meribel & 12 year old Honor move from California to Georgia to escape her stalker.
Cam provided security and some loving when they lived in LA.
Cooper is her new neighbor in GA.
We hear from the stalker and a homeless girl as well, which makes for a lot to follow along with.

The characters were all unlikable, except Honor. I do not have experience with autism first hand, but I felt that Honor was perfectly written. And I thought Meribel was a great mom to her.

Ugh with Meribel though. Not only is she being stalked, but she's stalking her ex-husband. I believe they've been divorced for an awfully long time, too, like 20 years I think, and that she thinks he might be her stalker is a bit absurd. And when the action really happens towards the end I just couldn't believe the decision she made, like really it made zero sense. There were plenty of other options she had. And really with who the Marker Man was, lame.

Overall, I was not in love with this one. There were too many unnecessary subplots and POV's going on. I have liked this author in the past so I'll give her another whirl.

Slow burn mystery that really picked up speed. It was the first resd for me from this author and I really enjoyed the characters even though most were unlikable

I've been a huge fan of Joshilyn Jackson since the beginning. And her latest With My Little Eye is just as fantastic as all of her previous novels.

There was a lot of information and side stories going on with this one. It details the story about a woman that moves across the country with her autistic daughter to escape "the marker man." There are multiple point of view stories and unless you're paying attention it can be difficult to follow. I did feel as though the ending was a little rushed into the last few chapters. If you are looking for a quick read, this is a great choice!

This was my first book by this author. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. It was confusing as it is told in multiple POVs, but no labeled chapters. It’s like it went back and forth so I was confused and lost interest. I love the stalker plot but don’t like the writing style at all.
Thanks for the eARC @netgalley in exchange for my honest review

Thank you for the opportunity to read this, i initially requested because Mother May I was one I kept thinking about long after I read it, but this ended up taking me awhile to get through I kept putting it down and reading something else instead, it was fast paced and exciting but fell short for me compared to Jackson’s previous work. It felt like there were too many stories going on at once and at the end I still felt left with questions about why everything happened.

The synopsis sounded so promising, and I fell for it completely. Actress Meribel Mills moves across the country with her daughter to escape a stalker, only to find out he follows her and is a completely unhinged human. Sounds good, right?

Wrong. Honestly, I should have stopped when they started calling him “Marker Man,” and again when Meribel started acting more like a baby than an adult woman, and again every time I spaced out, eyes glazed over because I was so bored…but did I stop? No, because apparently I like to punish myself. I was determined to get this off my ARC shelf, no matter what it cost me sanity wise.

The story managed to be convoluted and repetitive all at once. It was entirely too long for what the plot actually covered. The main character is annoying, and the way she treats her daughter had me rolling my eyes into another dimension. The multiple POVs seemed to be just thrown in randomly. There are too many background characters who don’t add to the story, but they sure take away from it.

This author had an opportunity to make a really amazing story centered around Honor, who is arguably the best character in the entire book. Honor is newly 13, on the spectrum, and was absolutely fascinating to me. Her viewpoint would have been a great way to tell the story, but unfortunately that’s just not what we ended up with in this book. She is featured more towards the end, but by then it was entirely too little too late.

File this under “should have DNF’d but I’m too proud” and let’s all move on with our lives.

Twisty and unpredictable, this was a great thriller that kept me guessing. I have read a lot of thrillers but this one sticks out for the fast-paced trippy story.

Unfortunately this was not one of my favorite books from one of my favorite authors. Normally when I read Jackson, I find myself laughing every few pages. This one was more suspense with a twist or two. It was good, just not what I was expecting. Keep writing Joshilyn. I’ll keep reading your novels!

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review!

Meribel Mills is an actress with a loyal following, but one of her fans has crossed the line into dangerous stalking. When the police in Los Angeles do not take her seriously, Meribel decides to move herself and her daughter to Atlanta for a new show and a fresh start. Feeling uneasy almost from the start, Meribel's paranoia sends her almost to the breaking point.

I am a huge fan of Joshilyn Jackson, but this book was a miss for me. There were too many side plots that the author threw in as a misdirection, but served only to muddle the story. Meribel's paranoia really did not come through, as she seemed just a little spooked and off her game.

Meribel acts like the heroine in a slasher film, the one that you yell at the television to get out of the house and not look in every corner. I also find it hard to believe that Meribel can sense people watching her, yet cannot comprehend the danger closer to her door.

In the ranking of the ten books of hers that I have read, With My Little Eye would be in the bottom half. That being said, I really like author Joshilyn Jackson, and I both recommend and look forward to reading more from her in the future.
