One word I would use to describe this 90’s inspired cocktail book is: FUN! This includes over 65 cocktails based on beloved 90s movies, tv shows, books, toys, games, music, fashion, etc. This is super nostalgic if you grew up in this era and I guarantee that you will have as much fun as we did just looking through this book (my husband in particular had a blast and continuously laughed throughout).

All the recipes include an anecdote from the author and a funky illustration which just adds to the fun. There is also a cocktail basics section that includes a rundown of different alcohol and a tools guide. On top of the cocktail recipes themselves, there are also simple syrup recipes, a puree recipe and even an ice cream recipe (for a cocktail float). Oh, and there are also some virgin options!

One thing I will say is that there is A) a huge variety of alcohol used in these recipes and B) some recipes require 3+, so if you’re like us, you may not have a lot of the ingredients. We wanted to make a recipe but didn’t want to go out and buy a bars worth of ingredients so we stuck to one drink, the Sonic-inspired Casino Night Daisy. This included tequila, blue curaçao, and blackberry liqueur (we had to settle for raspberry). Delicious!

Are you ready for your next themed party, complete with drinks based on all things 90s? There's a section based on TV, Books and Movies (I can't wait to try an Absinthe-Crag, which features Yoohoo and Absinthe as a tribute to Nickelodeon's green slime), a section based on Toys, Tech and Games (The Apple Mac-tini is what I'm craving from this section), a section based on Style & Fashion (Slap Wrap, Frosted Tips, Flannel Factor are just a few featured) a section based on Music (too many glorious titles there) and a small section based on some pretty 90's specific Foods. Break out your 90's trivia games!

Really cute concept, this throwback to the 90's brought me back to high school and college in the best way!

Cocktails based on 90's shows, movies, books, toys, technology, games, fashion, food and drink, and music. The pictures in the book are 90's inspired sketches, and really tied everything together.

This is a must read for all 90's kids! You will realize how much pop culture you've forgotten!

Thank you Netgalley and Union Square & Co. for the ARC!

CALLING all 90s kids. I’m here for any cocktail book but this one is SO MUCH FUN. These 90s inspired cocktails will have you feeling some type of way. The cocktails aren’t just inspired by TV shows – but also by movies, books, toys, technology, games, fashion, food and drink, and music. Some of my personal shoutouts (that I will be making) include: The Heart of the Ocean, Sanderson Sister Sour, The Costanzas’ Marble Rye, the Virgin (it’s not virgin BTW) Who Can’t Drive, the Furb-dden Fruit, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Frosted Tips, CapriRum, Waterfall Chaser, Barbie Girl, Gin-ey in a Bottle, and more. Sheer perfection.

Review to come closer to the release date (April-ish) on blog/goodreads/etc.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I just had to get this book from Netgalley when I saw it. I knew I wouldn't get all of it, which is also thanks to the fact I live in the Netherlands and not all things come across the ocean to my country. But I was looking forward to things I would recognise and also that I could make! Yum!

I have to say I expected just movies and shows, music as well, but this one also features fashion, food, technology and some other things, of course all from the 90s. As I expected with the first section (movies/books/shows) + the last section (music), I recognised the most from. So happy to see things like Titanic, Saved by the Bell, Goosebumps, Genie in a Bottle (now I got it in my head, thanks author), Barbie Girl (also in my head). And then there were other sections were I recognised things here and there. Like Slap Wrap (though the bracelets had another name) or Zelda or creepy Furbys. But others I just had no clue. It wasn't bad, in fact I learned quite a few fun US things and wish I could have been there for them. Or at least some. not all. Haha. I loved how the author gave us a short blurb on what the movie was on + some thoughts and then went on to the drinks. I love that there were some higher and lower alcohol drinks and I loved the variety of them. From sweet to sour. From easy to hard. It was just so much fun and I definitely would like to try some of these out. A lot of them sound delicious and yummy.

For some items I will have to do more effort, like root beer. And I guess I can just use tap water instead of filtered as our water here is drinkable. XD

I also love that each drink/show/whatever else was accompanied by an illustration! I really liked the style and how well it captured that 90s vibe/feel!

All in all, if you love the 90s, were a 90s kid, love drinks, or just want a fun book, be sure to check out this one! I would recommend it.

I think any adult that was a kid in the 90's that is into pop culture will adore this book of cocktails. I love the very 90's style sketches in it, and the jog down memory lane of all of my favorite shows from childhood the book provides. There are also some great drink recipes!

Well I’ve found the greatest cocktail book of all time. Everyone else can give up. It won’t hold a candle to this nostalgia filled recipe guide!

Thanks NetGalley for the arc of Saved by the Bellini!

This book is filled with themed cocktails matching the 90s. Each drink is introduced with a summary of the show/drink/song/item from the 90s. Then the drink recipe is provided along with an amazing illustration mixing a visual of the drink and 90s references. The detail is unreal! The music section was my favorite! This book is filled with all the things you loved as a kid and all the things you forgot you loved! Backstreet Boys, tamagotchis, Gushers, dunkaroos, Spice Girls, the Flintstones, grunge… you name it- they remembered to include it! The illustrations are so fun and colorful!

I will be buying copies of this for everyone I grew up with. It’s gold!! I’d love to have a themed event based on this book! I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical edition!!

Nostalgic fun!!

What a cute book! The cartoon pictures throughout scream 90's nostalgia...in the best way possible. Judging by the name and cover alone I was expecting a heavy dose of Zack Morris or Bayside concoctions. Saved by the Bellini gives us recipes to complement anything from Home Alone, the McCallister Wassail, to as seen on tv inspired cocktail, The Juicer. From Clueless, to TGIF, to Snackwells, this book is sure to take you on a walk down memory lane.

Not only do the recipes for each cocktail look delish, but the writing is witty, and you can tell John deBary knows his way around a bar! Informative + FUN! This book would make a great gift for any 80's baby & be a conversation starting addition to your coffee table! Oh & the cherry on top---Tiffani Amber Thiessen wrote the foreword. Long live Kelly Kapowski!

Thank you to Union Square & Co Sterling Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC with my promise of an honest review. 5 sentimental stars.
