I am a huge fan of this series and even though this book was enjoyable enough - the plotline was hard to believe. I am very afraid this series may have run its course.

I always enjoy Leslie Meier's books, and I was excited to receive an advance reader copy of her latest Lucy Stone mystery. As always, Lucy finds herself involved in a murder mystery, this time in France. Lucy's daughter Elizabeth is engaged to be married, so the entire Stone family makes the trip to the chateau belonging to the groom's family for the wedding. Ms. Meier always details the inner workings of a family, along with the mystery, and she continues to do so in the latest book. I feel like the Stone family could be my neighbors after reading about them for so many years! I highly recommend this. book!

I've got to say the Lucy Stone books is one of my favorite series. Mother of the Bride Murder is number 29 in the series and did not disappoint. Lucy and her whole family go to France for her oldest daughter's surprise wedding to the handsome, successful, son of a wealthy family.
His family own a huge French chateau, where the wedding will take place. After meeting her daughter's future mother-in-law, Lucy wonders if her daughter will be happy living at the chateau with such a dominating woman. When a young woman's body is found in the moat, and her family have to surrender their passports, Lucy is determined to protect her family and get to the bottom of the shady things going on at and around the chateau. This was another fun cozy that kept me guessing til the end. Thank you to Kensington Books and netgalley for providing me with an advance readers copy. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Leslie Meier has another hit. Tinkers Cove comes alive with the unexpected and unusual.

another great entry in the lucy stone mystery series, it did everything that I enjoyed from the previous entries. Leslie Meier has a great writing style that keep me invested 29 books in. It does what I was hoping for and was what I wanted. I enjoyed the characters and their world and wanted more in this world. I look forward to reading more in this series.

“I’ll go and stay with him,” offered Lucy, thinking this was pretty typical male behavior. “Are you sure?” Lucy was thinking that this opportunity to question Jean-Luc was almost too good to be true, but she wasn’t about to admit that to Elizabeth. “I really don’t mind,” she said, with a shrug. “I’d like to be useful.”

I've been a Lucy Stone fan for a long time, and I never get bored with this series.
Lucy is a wife, mother, reporter and friend, who lives in the tiny town of Tinker's Cove, Maine.
She has 4 children, all grown now, and a delightful grandson.
Lucy's oldest daughter lives in France, and a surprise phone call sends the entire Stone family to France, for her daughter's wedding.
Lucy is hesitant about this whirlwind marriage, but she puts a smile on her face, and helps where she's needed.
When a dead body is pulled out of the water, by her small grandson, Lucy is determined to get to the truth, regardless of the outcome.
This is a fantastic addition to the series, and the author does an amazing job making her characters appear real, with everyday issues.
I recommend this book and series to everyone.

I enjoyed this book. The characters are great. It was different with them being in France. Still the bad guy was known by the French family they just didn’t tell the Americans. It was kind of anti-climatic that the inquest ended the justice. #MotheroftheBrideMurder #NetGalley

Lucy’s daughter, Elizabeth, is getting married in France and the whole family meets up at a French Chateau for the festivities. What started out as a dream wedding turns into a nightmare when a body is found in the old moat and then a woman drops dead.

While Lucy focuses on enjoying her time with her family all in one place, she’s also intent on keeping them safe with a killer on the loose. Will she be able to say who did it so Elizabeth’s wedding isn’t totally destroyed and she can say “I do”?

Another fun entry in this series. I adore when series take an occasional trip and this one is sheer perfection! Tinker’s Cove is great too, but who ever says “Non” to a trip to France? a solid whodunit that will keep you guessing until the reveal.

Mother of the Bride Murder by Leslie Meier is a great cozy mystery that is the 29th book in my all-time favorite series, Lucy Stone. I just loved it.

This is the first cozy mystery series that I ever discovered, and I fell in love with the first book I read ( out of order with the Valentine Murder). I have been an avid fan ever since. I have read all 29 books and all of the associated novellas. I have grown up with the Stone family in Tinker’s Cove, Maine. I have watched Toby, Elizabeth, and Zoey grown from childhood to now young adults. I have befriended Pam, Sue, Rachel, and Phyllis as Lucy has done. I have been with them all through thick and thin, and will continue to do so.

Ms. Meier has brought another great installment to this charming and timeless series. Lucy is such an excellent main character…part seasoned reporter, part sleuth, Mom/now Grandmother, friend, and all around a lovable, realistic, and likable woman.

This time the Stone Family are in France and get involved in a murder/mystery that has some high stakes associated with them…their own family.

I loved seeing it all unfold, and I really did enjoy the ending. Can’t wait for the next book!!!!

5/5 stars

Leslie Meier is my favorite cozy author. In this book Lucy Stone, the main character in all of this series, leaves her little town and travels to a French Chalet. It is here her oldest daughter has decided to get married. The family is all together for the first time in many years.

Of course a mystery ensues when they pull the body of a young woman from the chalet moat. In addition there is a very odd cast of characters and Lucy must find the culprit to protect her family.

Lucy is a delightful amateur sleuth - she has a good head on her shoulders and is a keen observer of human nature.

Enjoy this book!

Quirky characters in a fun book…curl up in a comfy chair with a cup of steaming herbal tea…enjoy the escapades of these characters who come alive on the pages of this novel. At times, it seems they are in real life circumstances. I like books by this author. I liked this book. The family travels to France for a wedding. Although winning money in the lottery, at just the right time, seems far fetched, the book is almost like nonfiction. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the copy. Enjoy.
