I didn't think anything could live up to the first installment of this series, but I'm thrilled to say I was wrong. This is a beefy book, with lots of character development, new locations, and subplots. The art is incredibly charming; and some panels are simply breathtaking. There is a slightly 80's feel with a completely modern twist, and my brain just eats that up like it's PEZ. Diverse characters, LGBTQI+, and variety in body shapes and sizes just made this such an enjoyable story to be immersed into.

THIS IS A NEW FAVOURITE OF THE YEAR! Absolutely amazing. This takes all the excellent characters, politics and style of the first one and turned it up 10 notches. If you’re looking for badass diverse gays in space THIS is for you.

Oh wow! This was epic.
I liked the first volume too, but I LOVED this. The story just gets better, and I felt more connected to the characters here. I especially loved the pirate captain, and her amazing coat.
There were several big reveals that made me really happy... And I love the gang that we have at the end of this book. I want a book three as soon as possible!!

I am utterly obsessed with this series! The worldbuilding is astounding, and I loved getting to explore it more here, to see how the valiant efforts of our fave characters might not be as valiant as they think...

I just... I want more books. I don't know how I can wait for the next one.

This is the perfect sequel to Cosmoknights Book One. Not only do we get to see Pan and the Cosmoknights (as well as their new companions) grow together, we also see them rocked by the revelation that their way may not be the best way to do things. Pan works on her fighting skills with Cass, Kate butts heads with their new Princess, Cass and Bee come to terms with the fact that they aren't in this fight alone anymore, and we finally find out what happened to Pan's childhood best friend, Tara! The artwork is as gorgeous and inventive as always, fleshing out a medieval-inspired futuristic world to wonderful effect. I'll continue to shout about how much I love this series for as long as it lasts!

I have been waiting AGES to read the second volume of Cosmoknights in its entirety instead of waiting for weekly updates on Hannah Templer's website! The first book blew me away so much that I book promoted it for my library, wrote a blog post for the library on it, and told everyone that would listen to read it. I love everything about the Cosmoknights universe from the characters, the friendships, the relationships, the jousting (I'm from Maryland where our apparent state sport is jousting), and best of all the space opera that it exists in! This second volume delves more into the knights we know and love as they continue to bring down the space patriarchy that continues to offer up princesses as prizes for their planets' jousts. We also see just what happened to Tara and then what happens when Tara and Pan reunite. SQUEEEE. Love love love.

The long awaited Cosmoknights Book Two did not disappoint. With the addition of new characters and a surprise reunion; Cosmoknights although a bit slow in the beginning, revs up to an action packed ending that sets the story up for the next installment nicely. Hopefully we will not have to wait another 3 years to see what happens next.

I would recommend this to people that enojy the new Netflix She-Ra. Anyone who wished 80's teen movies like Some Kind of Wonderful were a little more gay and a little more in space. Those that know the power of grayskull.

4.5/5 stars! This is such an epic graphic novel. Its coloring is bright and inviting, so the graphics on the page were stunning. The story itself was also great, especially if you love sci-fi. The only thing I struggled with is that the whole book felt like it was just waiting to get to the action at the very end. I think the pacing could use improvement, but I really enjoyed reading it.

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Oh man! What a fun ride this book was. The artwork is so freaking beautiful and the space gays? These ladies are amazing and just so freaking cool.

The story is brilliant and the plot twists were epic. I am looking forward to the next graphic novel because I cant wait to see how this story continues

It’s the second adventure for these gays in space. A hacker, a stolen princess, the muscle, the mechanic, and the pilot try to figure out their next grand plan. When a mysterious pirate crew tries to take over their ship in trying to rescue the princess, what do the cosmoknights do? When everyone makes it to the next arena, secrets come out, and not everyone is happy. It’s up to this quaky and quirky crew save everyone, but mistakes are made, and the royals want justice.
Pan meets an old friend, and Scottie makes a choice that could save their crew’s hacker. Hard choices and decisions are made, and with one fluffy cat (that everyone loves), this ragtag crew is out to change the galaxy's future. It’s a fantastic read, just like the first volume; Hannah Templer knows her reader’s hearts with a backdrop of royalty, galaxies, and simmering romance.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy. I absolutely loved the first volume and this one was no different. I devoured Volume Two in one sitting. It was a great continuation to the first and I loved how the tension between the different characters’ beliefs in direct action worked throughout the whole book. The characters became more nuanced as they struggled with their beliefs. Love the aesthetics and colors. It’s what originally drew me into the series. Use of panel space, especially during the fight scenes, was great. The reunion between Tara and Pan provided such a satisfying ending and I can’t wait for the next installment!

🌌 Arc Review 🌌

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for a review.

Title: Cosmoknights Vol.2
Author: Hannah Templer
Rating: 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Release Date: June 13, 2023

A strong Continuation of a fantastic story. I saw this on NetGalley and immediately knew that I had to read it. I was so excited to see the crew, thrown together at the end of the last book, work out their dynamics and opposing goals. As always a crew of space gays is the best kind of crew. The story picks up right where the first book leaves us and it is action-packed from the go. So many great conflicts of character and outside threats were tackled in here and I loved it. We had the introduction of some new characters and the return of an old familiar face. It was a little touch and go there in the middle but the story recovered. And that ending, I am stoked for more.

If you are unfamiliar with this series go grab the first book and prepare yourselves for this amazing sequel!

After three years volume two of Cosmoknights is out. This time bigger, gayer and brighter.

Comsmoknights keep saving princesses and having shenanigans with each other, One character even makes an anticipated comeback! I wasn't very fond of the worldbuilding of this story, but after that ending I'm looking forward to reading the next volume.

The art style is amazing, the first volume was already gorgeous but this one takes it to the next level. I love how Templer draws the characters and the backgrounds. And those skies full of stars and color gradients, stunning coloring work.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a perfect sequel, though I did want more of precious cat-creature Percy (WHY is Percy not on the cover?!). I loved the political developments, the twist/reveal (YAY), and the cliffhanger ending--it sets up everything so spectacularly for the sure-to-be wonderful 3rd volume.

Cosmoknights book 1 is my favorite graphic novel of all time. Following along with a fun plot, gorgeous artwork and characters I absolutely adored - and this sequel lived up to the hype the first one caused!

The plot took new and exciting turns, with the same gorgeous art style, color scheme and writing. This book fulfils the gays in space stereotype to the MAX. With a cast of characters to adore and new adventure at every corner.

Everyone should pick this up. It's a challenge to not fall in love.

A wonderful sequel that I will now have to wait forever for to get to the next - worth it!

"...No one's gonna tell us what to do."

Jump back in the ring, the Cosmoknights are at it again! They've rescued the princess and are off to save another. But not everyone is on board with that plane. Actually only Cass is. Kate wants to go bigger. Pan is worrying over a newly found message from Tara. Bee doesn't think they're ready for another match. And the Princess... she wants to go back home.

Plot: 5/5
The story that Templer crafted is just fantastic, there is just the right amount of plot squeezed into those panels. The flashbacks and parallel perspectives gave me chills!

Characters: 5/5
All the characters were forced to grow in this story. I love how much we got to see of Kate, I think she really came into her own as a character. Also Scottie?! I loved the addition of her and her relationship with Kate.
Bee and Cass had incredible moments. Pan became some much more of a force to be reckoned with. And TARA?! HELLO! Her character design is flaawwwlleesssssss.

Writing/Art: 5/5
Perfection, what else is there to say?

Overall: 5/5

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. When I saw Book 2 available on NetGalley I audibly squealed and immediately put a request in!
The worldbuilding in this series is immaculate, the art is incredible, and the characters are unique, diverse, and so lovable. In Book 1 we were introduced to the main characters and some of the blaring issues in this galaxy, and it leaves off on a cliffhanger. Book 2 starts up right where Book 1 ended, and there are so many world, cultural, and plot questions that are answered in Book 2, as well as an OMG moment plot-twist! For all of the answers we get in Book 2, more political turmoil and higher stakes are introduced that will (hopefully!) continue as the story is updated. The action scenes are excellent. The plot is a great mix of fast-pace action scenes with absolutely badass amour and weapons, and more intimate scenes with great dialogue and a look into character relationships and struggles as this found family grows. I am excited to keep reading this story and see this "ragtag band of space gays" work towards political liberation and dismantling an oppressive system.

Thank you, IDW Publishing & NetGalley for this advance reader's copy.

Pan, Cass, and Bee must learn to work with Kate and figure out what to do with Scotty, the rescued princess. The one thing everyone can agree on is that they want to help the common people. The issue is, how? Do they work with the nobles, continue with the jousts, or tear down the entire system?
The continuing development of the different relationships was wonderful to see. The added political and social developments just added to the story. I loved this volume just as much as the first and can not wait for the story to continue.
If you are a fan of space tales and social justice, this is a good story for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

Volume keeps up the quick pace of volume one, and it's so good. This volume delves a bit more into the world, and the questions I had during volume one about the functions of the royalty have been answered! I also like that the characters have conflicting ideologies about how to do direct action. One of them wants to make change while staying within the current system, but the other wants to completely dismantle the system from the outside in. Both of them have the same end goal, but wildly different ideas on methods of how to get there. It's a very real reflection of real life, where you could all agree on what needs to be done, but not on HOW it should be done. I also love how the relationships between several of the characters, both romantic and platonic, are developing in a way that feels so real. It was also great getting to see how Bee and Cass work together in their relationship. They are very different people, who think in very different ways, but they also have such a healthy relationship. I'm always fond of books that have their characters actually talk it out so they can better understand how the other one feels, instead of having them get stuck in a misunderstanding rut. Also, I love the princess character! She's a great example of there's more than meets the eye. The diversity of body types is also something that I loved seeing. It's just casually there, but I love it so much. The plot twist with the one character, I sort of guessed, but I didn't guess how amazing she would look! The rag-tag crew is slowly expanding and feels like it's going to fall squarely into the Found Family trope, which is one of my absolute favorite tropes. The action scenes were fantastic, the artist made them feel so dynamic and intense! So excited for the future third volume!

After devouring and becoming obsessed with book 1, I am ecstatic to say that book 2 is as outstanding!

Picking up right from book one and their rescue of the Princess, Pan & the crew deal with pirates, internal & personal challenges, an undercurrent of more corruption and political imbalance than we (readers) saw, and so many, both big and small, backstory flashbacks PLUS A PLOT TWIST!

The art continues to be incredible; the characters do not shy away from vulnerability & being both liked & unlikeable. This graphic novel is lgbtq+, and it is BEAUTIFUL! Cosmoknights is, in my opinion, a fresh take on sci-fi, empowerment, and queer princess & knight storytelling.

BONUS I WILL DIE FOR THAT CAT (?) PERCY!
