While I had some difficulty perusing this book (due to the Netgalley App not being sufficient), this book was a delight. I took up embroidery during the pandemic as a way of mental stimulation and an attempt at finding a hobby. This book would have been my best friend. The creations inside are both adorable and clever. The instructions are easy to follow and help provide great insight into the world of embroidery. I would highly recommend.

A good guide for people learning to embroider but I’d prefer the ‘how to’ to appear closer to the pictures rather than having to scroll down. Great for beginners and anyone doing thread journaling.

thank you netGalley for allowing me to review this ARC. All my opinions are my own.

Very cute patterns that are pretty easy to follow. I am thankful for the instructions on how to transfer patterns, it will be a tip I'll be using often

Some cute ideas. I would have liked at least a few with step by step directions with pictures to get a better idea of how to do it. Then the rest could have still been the diagrams

A book absolutely packed full of embroidery ideas, this would make the perfect gift for someone who enjoys embroidery or is keen to get more into it. There is a break down of a few stitches, photographs of some ideas and then drawings that detail which stitches to use to create many different icons, letters and shapes. The suggested number colour for DMC thread is included too.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I love this book so much! I love all the little patterns! It has everything you can imagine! The author did a great job explaining how to do certain stitches and many other information concerning embroidery. Highly recommend!

Super cute and fun! I was looking for an easy-to-understand instruction guide to spice up my clothing and this book definitely delivered! The designs are all listed at the front so you can compare them and see what you want to embroider, and then the manual for each design follows after. Each type of stitch is clearly explained, and even for a complete beginner who has never embroidered anything before, these exercises were simple to do!

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!
This is the book I didn't know I needed ! I absolutely loved the little design inside. They are so cute et seems fairly easy to do for the beginner that I am. I like that there is not too much text and the picture speak for themselves. It is really straightforward in the explanation. Also there is a little guide about the different kind of stitch and how to make them that I found well explained.
Really loved it and going to add it to my wishlist for Christmas! Curious to see more books like it !

If you asked me to name 100 cute things, I don't think I could. Nihon Vogue has not only named 550 cute things but has created embroidery patterns for them. A lovely table of contents in color of each design is browsable at the front of the book. This leads to a stitch guide for the embroidery techniques used, how to transfer designs, tools that are handy to have and tips to create your own cute embroidery projects. Next comes the designs in an outline for easy outlining and transferring to your fabric. Accompanying pages include another outline of the design with a guide to the stitches and colors used to create it.

Beautifully laid out, illustrated and photographed, this book is a great one to have in your library. I plan on going through my wardrobe and using these designs to cover small holes and stains, or embroider the colors and hems of my garments.

This book is so cute! I love that you get color images of each design, but also a grey-scale version with the stiches needed. It also teaches the different stitches with text and pictures so it would be great for beginners. My mom loves embroidered jeans and I can't wait to make her something beautiful!

I love embroidery and this book had lots of cute embroidery designs. It is definitely full of inspiration but I personally thought there was too many designs which seemed to overload me. I would have preferred less designs and more instructions. Also more pictures of finished projects would have been good.

A lot of work has sent into the book and this shows, Definitely suits a more competent stitcher maybe a bit daunting for the less experienced.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cute book!

The book has pictures of the designs in the front and then breaks down how to do them. The book contains information on each stitch with a template of how to use them for the different icons. There's a variety of icons in this book - foods, animals, plants, etc. I would have liked a little more variety, but what is in the book is very cute.

Overall a nice find, but maybe not for brand new beginners.

This is a good book of how to embroider a bunch of small designs. They are grouped as motifs, flowers, foods, animals, life, sports, hobbies, borders, alphabets, childhood, and people.
The book does show a full color photo of each design, and later on there is a template, and a drawing that shows the floss color and stitch type. Pages in between have color photos of how to do the stitches. I wish the color photo and instructions were on the same page. I feel like if I were using this book, I'd be flipping back and forth.
Overall helpful but I don't know that the book is detailed or easy enough for a complete beginner to follow.

A cute guide with instructions and simple diagrams and templates. Perfect for beginners or intermediate embroiderers who want to try creating their own designs with a bit of direction.

This book is brimming with ideas of novel things to embroider. Some are incredibly simple, such as a milk jug, while others are more complex, such as a chicken in a hot air balloon. The designs are from different artists but work together and are accompanied by instructions on how to complete the different stitches, which are clear and easy to follow. There are also ideas for how to decorate clothes and other items with the embroidery. My only criticism is that the template and instructions for completing each project are separate from the picture of the completed item. To fully make sense of the stitch instructions, I know I will have to keep alternating between the template and the photograph. Nonetheless this is a really good book that avoids the trap of being too kitch or twee.

A great reference and resource book for those just beginning to embroider. I've been using it to teach several young ladies their needle arts and we have all agreed this book is a winner!

This is a nice basic idea book of many small embroidery designs. It starts with many pages of photos of groups of the designs with 16 to a page in categories like fruits and vegetables and favorite animals. The zodiac animals confused me at first because there’s a chicken and they didn’t look anything like the zodiac to me until I realized of course it’s the Chinese zodiac. Most of the options are random and incomplete like the fruits and vegetables include an avocado and grapes but not a banana or broccoli or apple or mushroom or most of them. The people are all little white children’s heads that look like they’re from a 1950s picture book.

Even though there are hundreds of designs it felt brief and most of them didn’t strike me as exceptionally cute. It has some of the weird “cute” kinds of things popular in some areas of the craft world right now like a bear in a cheeseburger. When I think of cute I think of things like mushrooms, elves, baby animals, rainbows and silly monsters. Those sorts of things are not in here but there are flowers, letters, deserts, fairy tale scenes (mostly ducks and wolves), everyday objects, cars and lots of other fun little motifs. The middle section is a very short tutorial on how to embroider and the second half is just small drawings of the same designs as the first half that are the patterns.

This will be a helpful sourcebook for embroidery ideas, though I’m not sure it succeeds in showing almost every cute thing you could embroider.

This really is the cutest how-to ever! Top tips for making everything, from pizza slices to tennis rackets - all of which have the maximum cuteness factor. Each stitch you’ll need is introduced and taught with accompanying photographs, and the actual patterns are clear, simple, and easy to follow - perfect for a total beginner or experienced sewer alike. This is a lovely book to help you bring all sorts of animals, food items, and objects to life through your needle. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Rockport Publishing and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.

Could the 550 motifs in How to Embroider Almost Every Cute Thing possibly be any more charming? This short and sweet book explains the basics from materials to threading your needle to several stitches. Though I have been embroidering for many years, this imaginative book has inspired me to tuck away several ideas for Christmas gifts such as folk art flowers for a jewelry box lid, mouthwatering fruits for cloth napkins, animals such as a turtle and crab for a book bag and adorable motifs children will giggle over. I've already chosen the designs to embellish my apron, too!

Embroidery is a dying art but immensely gratifying and therapeutic. For me it is also a connection to the past when women worked tiny stitches with their hands and created beautiful things. Hopefully books such as this will appeal to more and more future stitchers who will revive it.

This book has something for every age and ability and I will buy it for one of my nieces who is into anything miniature and cute. What a thrilling discovery!

My sincere thank you to Quarto Publishing Group - Rockport Publishing and NetGalley for the providing me with an early digital copy of this inspiring wee book.
