I enjoyed this story with all the characters within. The main characters were Jenna Malone and Trevor McCall's.

Jenna Malone work and live in Los Angeles. She works as an artists in the special effects at a movie studios.
When she was younger her sister went missing and she been look around for her.

Trevor McCall's is in the Swat. He is also a wolf shifter. He going to visit a person that he meet while they were in his town. But he didn't expect that he would have to go on an adventure throughout the city.

This was a fun story to read. It had action, adventure, and suspense throughout. There were a few giggles within. It had a bit of a mystery within too.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

Jenna believed her kidnapped sister was still alive but she couldn’t get the ones closest to her to believe it. When visiting her brother to try to change his mind, Jenna meets Trevor and they develop a connection. Trevor visits Jenna in Los Angeles and while getting to know each other better, they discover clues related to Jenna’s sister. Suspense, action, surprises, conflict, and happily ever after.

Loving the Wolf is book 14 in the SWAT series by Paige Tyler and it can be read as a standalone I would recommend readers read the book 13 to better understand the characters in Loving the Wolf.
The story teachers a good lesson about family and how sibling see each other as children and not grown adults.
Loving Wolf is action packed and romance is thrown in with some sweet moments.
A great pool read.
Thank you Netgalley

I don't read alot of paranormal titles these days, but this is one series that I like to read when I'm looking for something with a lot of action and I do love the fated mates element of this series. The author does a good job of keeping this long running series from getting stale or repetitive. In Loving the Wolf, there's a new threat in town and the SWAT wolfs are needed.

This was an easy read with plenty of tension-filled action, along with the whole bro-code of not dating your teammates sister. But what can you do when she's The One! Trevor is ready to do whatever he has to for his fated mate, including taking on her brother, who I though was a bit of a jerk in this book and the previous installment. No worries -- things do get worked out as part of the overall romance between Trevor and Jenna.

I loved the new monsters and the fight that the SWAT team had with them, although it seemed to be over too soon! The romance between Jenna and Trevor goes from zero to sixty quickly, but that was okay because that's part of the fated mates behavior. Loving the Wolf was just a whole lot of fun to read.

Overall, a quick, easy read with action, suspense and fated mates.

Book 14 of the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series yet can stand alone. Forbidden love, best friend’s sister, shifters, mystery, danger and of course HEA.

Jenna is estranged from her brother since their sister disappeared years earlier. She went to visit him to ask for help finding their sister and while there she met Trevor. Trevor travels to California to visit and see if what they feel can work. In her quest to find her sister Jenna helps the homeless and becomes aware of several missing person cases. Join them in this fast paced story as they search Jenna’s sister and discover creatures nightmares are made of.

A definite page turner that has it all: attraction, danger, passion, strong friendships and family healing. I highly recommend it – you won’t regret it.

Thank you NetGalley, Paige Tyler and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I am always looking for the next book in this series and this time it is Trevor and Jenna's story.

While they are attracted to each other, there are obstacles in their way - many Jenna's brother who is Trevor's SWAT teammate, and they live in different cities.

Add in some intrigue and drama, and lots of hot romance and I could not put this book down!

Was not sure if Jenna's brother, Connor, was going to be able to get over his sister being with his teammate but he finally was able to see that she was Trevor's "One" and they got their HEA.

Loving the Wolf is the fourteenth title in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series, and even with so many stories within the series, the author has given us another creature to fear and the team to hunt down. We first met Trevor and Jenna in the previous story, The Wolf is Mine, and now their relationship deepens as Jenna has invited Trevor to spend time with her in Los Angeles. He strongly suspects that Jenna is his The One and that his teammate/packmate, Connor (Jenna’s brother) isn’t exactly thrilled by this fact. Connor is extremely protective of his sister, and as the story unfolds we’ll understand why.

I’m reluctant to go into any details about the creatures we’ll encounter or other details that I feel classify as spoilers. Having said that… Loving the Wolf is one heck of a suspenseful, steamy, finding your mate experience filled with wit, danger, laughter, painful experiences of the past, steamy moments in the present, the sense of a solid future, and finally finding hope after it has been lost for so long.

I loved Jenna. What she experienced is horrific, yet she is far stronger than she imagines, and stubborn as well. Her way of dealing with the trauma of the past is unique, as well as her talent for making a living. Several issues are addressed realistically and with care. And with Trevor, she simply shines. She may not truly understand what The One is, but she does feel a pull toward this man that she’s not backing away from – in spite of her brother’s overprotectiveness.

I always enjoy returning to this series, but Trevor and Jenna were a unique couple that drew me in from the first page. Their story is unique, the passion between them is believable, and the emotional journey they’re on will keep you on edge throughout. Another well-written, riveting story in this series that I would highly recommend to any reader who loves romantic suspense of the paranormal kind and a really good romance.

While this one can stand alone quite successfully, there are a lot of great stories in this series. If at all possible, I’d recommend going back to the beginning of the series or at least the previous story for those connections. You don’t “have” to, all you’ll need to know, as other team members make appearances, is given within the narrative or dialogue.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

So...not what I was expecting, but so very good. Trevor and Jenna's story is action packed and filled with all the good stuff. You get interesting villains, romance, fighting and the wolf pack. I loved it. This is a finish in one setting kind of story. Well done!

Hold onto your hats, folks, because things are about to get a bit wild!

This entry opens a short time after the last book and is a direct continuation. Trevor has been invited to see Jenna in California. He doesn’t know that it’s not all fun and games: she has an ulterior motive and wants him to hopefully see the ghoul who occasionally steals a human like it did her sister.

Her plan works and he takes off after the creature. The details the follow stretch the bounds of my imagination. I mean it - I struggled to believe everything. I had to willfully give the book a chance, and even then, I wondered I was going to regret it.

Shortly afterwards though, I was happy with the plot development. I like the scope of imagination playing out in front of my eyes. Kudos to the author. This is a keeper and the book is good!

This story picks up directly after The Wolf is Mine: Connor’s sister Jenna came over and after a big fight with Connor, she stays over with Trevor, one of Connor’s teammates.

In Loving the Wolf we start when Trevor is asked to come over to Jenna. They have kept in contact after the whole fight with Connor and their friendship has grown over time. Knowing that Connor doesn’t want his sister in contact with werewolves, he has Hale cover for him. Because Trevor wants to check whether Jenna might be ‘the one’ for him, without his friend breathing down his neck. But while staying with Jenna they encounter a strange being, which is kidnapping people from Jenna’s neighborhood. And even more strange: Jenna has a replica of this monster at home, build from clay! When Jenna confides in him that her statue is build years ago, after the kidnapping of their sister Hannah, Trevor realizes there is something supernatural going on. Even more supernatural than werewolves!

Of course, this wouldn’t be a hunky SWAT story if there were actual hunky SWAT’s featuring in this story. So Paige indulges us, with bringing the pack in, to help Trevor and Jenna defeat their enemy. As always: fast- paced, suspense and love. What a great combination. Enjoy the (long) ride. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Paige Tyler's SWAT stories are always so much fun. Now that she's opened her world to all sorts of paranormal creatures you never know what will show up. This time it's ghouls, though they are somewhat different than I pictured that creature in my mind. It also is a best friend's younger sister story. Jenna Malone is Connor's sister (from the previous book) and the SWAT team member Trevor McCall. Trevor takes a week's vacation to LA to visit Jenna and see if they do indeed have a connection. Trevor suspects she The One for him. Connor has told him to keep his hands off and Trevor knows that's not an option if she is his soul mate.

Jenna works in the special effects industry for movies and television. She's talented in sculpting and painting and creates horrible creatures for the movies. She started by modeling a creature that kidnapped her sister off the streets ten years ago. No one believed her story and art was her therapy to cope. She has since then looked faithfully for Hannah but only thought she spotted her once. Connor refuses to believe her so she goes it alone. Her favorite diner distributes meals to the homeless and Jenna does that while looking for her sister. When she and Trevor see a creature snatch a woman, Connor rescues the woman and chases after the beast. This begins a search for the kidnapped people and rooting out the creatures under the city.

LOVING THE WOLF is Paige Tyler's SWAT series at the supernatural wildest.

Loving The Wolf is the 14th book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT Series about a Dallas SWAT Team comprised solely of werewolves. Just like all of the other books, this one brings the heat in and outside of the bedroom. There’s plenty of drama, and it’s lots of fun. Paige continues to find new paranormal creatures to introduce us to. Somehow, she hasn’t run out of great stories to tell.

Loving the Wolf features SWAT Team Member Trevor McCall and his SWAT buddy Connor’s sister Jenna Malone. Jenna is definitely THE ONE for Trevor but there’s a lot of tension created when he tries to keep that relationship a secret while at the same time having to deal with ghouls that may have abducted Connor and Jenna’s sister 10 years ago. Since Trevor is far from ordinary, he and Jenna embark on a very dangerous mission to free her sister and explore their passion for each other. What happens next is a surprising look into the underground life of ghouls and the plight of the homeless in California.

I thoroughly enjoyed Loving the Wolf. It’s action-packed, full of love, and just plain fun to read. I would have expected to have gained werewolf fatigue after such a long series but the stories are still well thought out and full of twists and turns. I am looking forward to the next one.

Excellent! This series just keeps getting better and better. I loved watching Trevor and Jenna's relationship build. And the action.. again awesome. Definitely recommend this book and rest of series.

Loving the Wolf was an easy going, well paced story explaining not just werewolves, but other paranormal creatures. I enjoyed the mix of romance between Trevor and Jenna and the touch of horror/mystery. Jenna is the little sister of Trevor’s friend Connor and when he finds out about them together, he hits the fan! Connor shows up, along others from the alpha team, and secrets are revealed. Add in a sister that went missing years ago, Jenna determined to find her no matter the cost and BAM! Sorry time!

It was an enjoyable read and worth picking up! I did receive an ARC of the book in exchange for my honest review.

The hunky SWAT team takes on monsters and inadvertently assists an underground rebellion in this fast-paced adventure.

SWAT werewolf Tyler gave a sympathetic shoulder and ear to Jenna when her brother brushed off her claims of seeing their long-lost sister. When he goes to visit her in LA, unbeknownst to her protective brother, he finds Jenna already involved in danger. In the midst of all this, he realizes that Jenna is The One for him, but getting past her brother and his packmate, Connor, might prove to be the harder obstacle.

We met Jenna and Trevor in the previous book, The Wolf is Mine, which was also Connor’s story. The two of them worked well together, literally and as a couple. Jenna was quite remarkable. She had a super interesting job creating monsters and make up for movies. And she never gave up on looking for her sister or insisting on what she saw on the night Hannah disappeared, despite her family not believing or supporting her.

Trevor didn’t have a big character arc, other than falling in love with Jenna, making her part of his world, and dealing with Connor. On the other hand, Jenna discovered monsters were real and closer to home than she thought, and she had to deal with the complicated relationship between her and Connor, among other things. She faced a bigger change in the way she viewed the world.

I am not a fan of the uber protective brother character trope. Connor had some very questionable moments, but it seems you can teach an old werewolf new tricks.

The underground monsters reminded me somewhat of the Morlocks from the movie The Time Machine. I was very intrigued by their society and it made wonder how things will end for them and our heroes.

All-in-all, this was an exciting and fun read and I finished it in almost one sitting. I can highly recommend this series if you like werewolves and other paranormal creatures and plenty of nail-biting action. Personally, I think it’s best to read the books in order, the characters will make more sense and you won’t miss out on any story development.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rating: 5/5
I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

This is book 14 in the SWAT series, it can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the other ones for two reasons. Reason one is because Paige Tyler is an amazing author and this series is just amazing, Reason 2, it will help you with all the information for the background.

This book is about Trevor and Jenna, and you will get to go on the action-packed adventure of trying to figure out who or what is taking people off the streets of LA, Jenna's sister was one of the victims that was taken a few years back. I love how Tyler can make you feel like all the paranormal stuff that is happening is real and not made up. It really helped me with getting a connection with the characters and the plot. The plot the whole time was fun, spicey, engaging and kept you on your toes. The pace was fast, and I was able to finish this book in 1 day.

The characters were likable and easy to connect with, like all her books. I loved how Trevor is a laid back, sweet, and very sexy male, but it was his personality that made me fall in love with him. He is so understanding, treats Jenna with respect and holds his boundaries with her until she is ready. I loved Jenna's story and I felt for her with her past and having to relive that horrible night when that creature took her sister from her, and she froze with fear, so she was not able to help her sister. I love that even with that trauma she is still looking for her sister and the creatures that took her, along with the other humans from the homeless camps. I love that this book wasn’t an insta-love but at the same time it was not a slow-burn, it was a wonderful mix of both, done in the right way. Also, the moment when Jenna found out that she was “The One” fated mate to Trevor, I enjoyed how she handled it and I think a lot of that was because Tyler weaved their love story throughout the book that it was not a huge shock. I enjoyed getting to know the new characters that I bet we will see in future books, as well as other characters from the previous books.

I cannot wait to see what book 15 will bring us and to see the other characters find their “The One”.

I recommend these books to anyone who likes reading paranormal romance, action, drama with some suspense.

I want to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to review this book

We had met Jenna and Trevor in the previous book (which was her brother Connor's story). They are just great characters. Paige always writes well rounded characters with whom you fall in love. This book had a different vibe than many of the others in the series. It definitely took a different turn, in a good way. Without giving any spoilers, some interesting beings were introduced and - WOW!!! This story was different, interesting, and a little out there. I loved it!!!!

The best thing is always the interactions with the pack. it is always fun to revisit previous characters from the preceding books. Thanks Paige, please keep writing these stories.

Received as an ARC from Netgally and Sourcebooks, and thank you.

The heroine had been searching for her missing sister since she saw the dreadful being kidnap her sibling in front of her eyes. In the present, when she sees a similar situation with said being, she has the help of the hero. The hero suspects that the heroine is his fated mate and wants to prove it by spending time with her, even with this latest dangerous situation. Withe the help of the SWAT team, the couple delves deeper into danger in this latest addition to the SWAT series.

This is the latest Paige Tyler book that features a fated couple that truly deserves their own story. The heroine endeared herself when she made her first appearance in her brother's book, and the hero definitely gave the romantic vibes in the same book. Now their story is told in this book, and it was worth it. There were more facets of the couple in this book, and I was cheering for them the whole way. I liked the flow of the story and the overall vibe that made the book enjoyable to read. The set of characters that supported the couple were likable and enriched the whole story. There's familial resolution that was much needed in this book, though I would have liked some more details for my own personal preference. Overall, a wonderful addition to the SWAT series and I look forward to reading more books in the future.

Loving the Wolf
SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series - Book 14
By Paige Tyler

Sourcebooks Casablanca - May 2023

Paranormal Romance

Nobody had believed Jenna Malone when her sister had gone missing ten years earlier. Her brother Connor hadn't believed her when she told him she had seen Hannah recently. They had argued, and she had spent the remainder of her time in Texas with his fellow SWAT member Trevor McCall. Now back home, she spent her time on the streets trying to find Hannah on her own.

Trevor knew better than to let Connor know he was going to LA to visit Jenna. He suspected Jenna may be The One for him, and he wanted to have time with Jenna getting to know her better without an overbearing brother. When they stumble upon a creature attempting to kidnap someone, Trevor knows he needs help from his teammates.

All they had to do was fight creatures that seemed immune to their werewolf strengths, find out where they were hiding the humans they'd captured, and keep Jenna and her friends both safe and unaware that Trevor and the other SWAT team members were werewolves. All while Trevor continued to court Jenna. What could possibly go wrong?

Loving the Wolf is an adventure packed romance from beginning to end. Jenna is understandably hesitant to trust others with her activities, but she has surrounded herself with a fascinating group of friends who I hope to see again. Trevor is perfect for Jenna as he navigates ghouls, Connor, and any other obstacle on his way to make Jenna his mate. I look forward to the next story.
