This is the first book of Debbie Burns that I have read, and it was a fantastic light read. Riley and Levi were high school sweethearts, who parted ways after an unfortunate situation with their parents. Both moved away, and 12 years later, Riley heads home to be with her mother. Once Levi gets wind of her return, he too comes back.

If you are a dog lover, and for second chance romance, this book is for you! I would have loved more conversation between Riley and Levi throughout, and more after the book ending. However, I’ll definitely pick up another book by Debbie Burns!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars.
A feel good read centered around the “I’ve loved you for years” trope, with relatable human characters and a group of endearing and very special animals, “You’re My Home”, by Debbie Burns (Sourcebooks Casablanca), is also a story about coming home, revisiting the past and time healing old wounds.
Levi’s and Riley reencounter is bittersweet and so much deserved. I loved the slow building of the trust, how hurt and dramatic events in the past seem more subdued in the present, and how the protagonists learn and advance from experience.
The leads are lovable and relatable, with their flaws, insecurities and inescapable redeeming qualities.
Levi’s initial surliness because of the life-altering career-ending injury slowly fades and all I can remember about him is his selflessness, charm and laid-back attitude.
Riley’s fears are understandable and the way they were solved worked for me.
I loved watching how Riley’s professional skills and talent were applied to concrete, palpable tasks and successfully delivered.
The progression of the second-chance romance was delightful to watch. Some side characters (Patrick, Marcus, Tommy) are screaming for their own story.
And the animal characters are just wonderful in their uniqueness and solid personalities.

An enjoyable read, full of well-drawn characters. Would recommend

Than you to Debbie Burns, NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the arc of this book.

I am not a fan of the trope where a couple separates for years and years but carries the torch, waiting and never forgetting the love they lost or let go. However, You're My Home is well-written and has some good side stories going with the pet rescue shelter and friends from the past. Considering the characters seem well into their thirties by now I find their memories and obsessions with high school a bit odd too. Get over it. But they didn't and that's the reason for the split that sent Riley in one direction and Levi in the other.

Overall, it's an entertainingly sweet romance read. And who can complain when your ex shows up over a decade later with a better body and lots of money? Yay.

Thank you to Debbie Burns, NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC in exchange for a review.

I had so many feels while reading this book. I love animals and am always happy when things work out for them. Course, I’m happy when life works out for people too. This is a wonderful story about Riley, Levi, Arlo, and Lola. These characters in this story are awesome. This is the first book I’ve read in the Rescue Me Series, but I’ll be checking the others out. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

What a wonderful, heartwarming story with loveable dogs holding important places within the book. We are back at the High Grove pet rescue where Riley has landed a temporary job in her dream location. Levi is back in town after suffering a concussion that has sidelined him from his job. They reunite after 12 years apart, discovering the chemistry is still there. Will it be enough to finally bring them together? But the heart of the story is with the animals. My heart melted for Arlo, a huge Great Dane and Lola, a little bulldog, both abandoned by their owners. This is a story of humans and their love of animals, and all things good for them. I recommend the entire series although each can be read as a stand alone book.

The book cover has the wrong dog on it. Would have loved seeing a huge black Great Dane. The gentlest of giant dogs.
Levi and Riley practically pick right up where they left off years ago with their relationship. It's wonderful and quick. I loved reading this book.

This is a wonderful feel good story. It’s about a second chance at love, opening one’s heart to not only the love of another person, but also the unconditional love of a dog (and these dog characters have plenty of character!) I found it to be emotional, heartwarming, fun, entertaining, and hard to put down. I only wish I could visit High Grove and connect with the people who seem like friends. I loved it!

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an advance read in exchange for this review.

Riley and Levi meet after years apart and the chemistry is still there. Levi still remembers the heartbreak, and Riley has spent her life running from love. Can these two make it?

I really wanted to like this one (it's book 8 of the Rescue Me series but can be also be a stand alone!). It is slow paced, and I didn't feel the chemistry between Levi and Riley. I loved the animal shelter, the cats, and the dogs though! I would adopt Arlo too.

Riley Leighton returns home to support her mom during breast cancer radiation treatment. Since college, she hasn't stopped running. Will this trip home be different; will she finally find a reason to return home for good?

A concussion and near-death experience has sidelined Levi Duncan from his career a deep-sea diver. With nowhere else to go, a to-the-point text message from his best friend Marcus has him quickly returning home for an impromptu visit.

The chemistry between Riley and Levi is exactly as it was twelve years ago, the last time they saw one another. A mutual love of dogs brings them back together and the two are forced to reconcile their heartbreak with hopes for a better future.
