Katie Kuhlmann has it all. Or does she?

Million dollar house in an exclusive suburb? Check. Successful career? Check. Two reasonably well behaved children? Check? Strong marriage to handsome college sweetheart? That’s the problem. Jack has been withdrawing from her, complaining about problems at work. When Adam Ross, a friend from college that they haven’t seen for twenty years, makes an unexpected visit, Jack invites him to stay with them adding more friction to their lives. As Katie’s life continues to unravel, she runs into a man she had met a year earlier and feels an instant attraction. The decisions she makes now will change her life forever.

Matt Goldman is an Emmy award winning television writer and his talent shows. The character development is excellent. Katie has a believable backstory of childhood tragedy that affects her adult behavior. The plot moves at a deliberately slow pace until the suspenseful, fast moving conclusion. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Tor Publishing Group and Matt Goldman for this ARC.

Katie is living an idyllic life in a mansion house with lovely children and a country club membership. It's a far cry from her upbringing when she was orphaned from family accident. Her marriage however, seems to be crumbling and there may be more to it as Jack becomes very secretive. A new friend gives her advice - should she take it?

I thought the first 20 percent was a bit slow but the story took off in places I didn't expect and I loved it. This is a new twist on a domestic thriller and Goldman does an excellent job of creating believable characters. This book kept me up all night! If you like a psychological thriller, love a twist or three, or just are ready to read about the latest family in the neighborhood, A Good Family is for you! #tor
