I was expecting short stories, but this was much more, yes it is true that each of the stories in this book are one of a kind, but they all come together as in each one of these, there is something that makes sense to a bigger story… so what did I learn from it?, there is a special school in area 51 surrounded by desert and special/troubling kids are taken there with the promise of one day getting back into the world, or are they? Most kids lost their parents or were brought here through a lie, and it is true to all of them that they hate this place, and most of the kids love only one of their instructors, instructor Annie Sherman, all these stories start with a breve introduction of said kid and instructor Annie about them. I did enjoy very much that each of the chapters was given a tittle that would introduce the kid by himself like, the first one is the pilot’s son.

There’s a theme behind the scenes in this book, kids are not happy and they want out, but to get out the school means to die? So in each chapter we learn about the story of each Main character in their own chapter and what they contributed to the main theme of the book, and if you want to know more about it, I would advise you to grab a copy and read for yourself because it is a short read but worth of your time, each chapter is like a 15 to 20 minutes read, it usually starts in the present (in the school) and then through the questions of instructor Annie they travel through their past and how they arrived at this school and what made them who they are, actually there are characters mentioned in this book that I wish I could read more about them, even some being the main character in their own chapter I want to know more about them. Others you’ll hate, yeah I want to know how they will end their stories as well… overall it is well written and makes you come for more… now I want to read more of this world.

Thank you NetGalley and Backlit PR for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion
