I love this author. I love this series. This was my least fave of the trio so far. I think I didn’t fully connect with Caleb, something was just missing with the character. I felt like I was only interested superficially.

I did like the narrator and will definitely pick up this author’s next book when it comes out.

I loved everything about this book. It makes me so happy to see all the happily ever after's in the Lovelight Farm's series. The writing was beautiful, the characters were relatable - with their own flaws and normalcies that make them feel like someone you know in your own life. I am a sucker for a friends to lovers story, so this book gave me everything I wanted and more.

I really enjoyed this book! I have seen a lot of hype around this author, and I am happy to say her work lives up to expectations.

This was a great romantic comedy. I loved the characters, I loved the setting, I loved the disability rep, and I loved the romance! It was very cute, not over-the-top smutty, but exactly the right amount of spice for me. I appreciated the dynamics of the characters during the sexy scenes, and I loved that consent was a big part of the story. I also enjoyed the autistim disability representation and found this to be one of those novels that entertains and educates at the same time.

I can't wait to read more from this author!

After reading Lovelight Farms, I was sold on reading the entire series. I skipped to this one and maybe that was my first mistake. It just felt so similar to Lovelight. Fake dating/romance between two people who have known each other for a long time. But one of them has had a crush on the other for a long time as well. A magazine feature being prepared for (which in this book felt like an unnecessary afterthought). A ridiculous breakup that doesn’t make any sense. And a character who simply can’t believe that the obvious flirtation from the other is for real. (Which was annoying in both books).
Aside from ALL those similarities (yes, yes, I know. Tropes. But I mean, come on. In the same series? Set in the same town?)
I do think I liked the overall characters a tad bit better in this book, there was simply no plot. And not in a “I don’t need a plot because the romance was so engaging” way either. Like in a “this is starting to feel long and pointless” way.
The audio narration was just okay. When the female narrator was on, she was great. Good personality showing her voice and everything. But her southern accent was so fake that she even forgot about it sometimes. And it didn’t fit the character either.
Overall it was just a good read. I’ll likely read more from the author, but not for a bit.

Thank you net galley for a review copy of the audiobook. My opinions are my own.

If I could find this little town, I would move there tomorrow!! I read the previous book in this series and JUMPED at the chance to dive back into this community. I love this series because all of the characters leap off the page. Not just the main characters in the story, but the community makes the story complete. This is the cutest town, I above all else STAN for Lovelight. Now into this love story for Layla. Layla is a beautiful and talented bakery owner for the Christmas Tree Farm. For as talented as she is, she is completely hopeless in finding love. While on yet another awful date she SEES Caleb for maybe the first time and he rescues her from the very bad date. If you have read the previous book, the crush that Caleb had on Layla was obvious and adorable. They decide to try "Fake" dating each other because Caleb wants to practice "wooing" a woman and Layla gets the opportunity to be treated nicely. The town can see the connection and the phone tree is activated. Through a series of fun, quirky and romantic dates, things heat up between Caleb and Layla. While the "fake" romance is blossoming, Layla is also on the cusp of professional recognition. On the verge of professional triumph, she is devastated after a power failure. The only person she can think to call and help her is Caleb. Despite the clear attraction, Layla is scared, and runs. Will Caleb let her walk away, or get her to listen to her heart. I audiobooked this one and loved the "Layla" narrator.

This is such a cute book! I'm so glad I found this author this year. I've enjoyed everything I've read by them, and this one has such a cute couple I was rooting for the entire time.

I enjoyed visiting Lovelight Farms again and running into characters that I liked in previous books. The sweet (and steamy!) fake dating romance between Caleb and Layla is so much fun and I loved seeing Layla learn to trust in love and Caleb. This is a very special small town and the author writes these romances so well. If you haven't visited Lovelight Farms yet, you need to do so ASAP!

4.5 stars - Loved this!!! B.K. Borison really has a knack for writing the sweetest, cozy small town romances. Layla and Caleb were adorable characters, and I really liked seeing how their relationship developed. The practice dating element of the plot was on the cute side of corny, but I loved every second of it. The third act breakup felt a little forced in this one, but the epilogue thankfully made up for it and made the book end on a good note. I think this was my favorite in the series so far!

4.5
What a perfect ending to the love light farms series! I have been liking the hints of Caleb’s Crush on Layla sense the first book! And now we finally get their story and it was so sweet! I loved Layla as a character, she was so strong but also like most of us she had her weakness that she tried to hide and never lucky in the guy department. Caleb was such a funny character I loved his change In careers and thought the teacher was perfect for him. Caleb and Layla run into each other on a disaster of a date for her and he comes up with a proposition for her to fake date as an experiment to help them both in their dating life. But right off the bat it doesn’t feel like an experiment and Charlie and Layla just fit so well together. And I loved when Layla needed Someone and Charlie jumped in saving her, it was my favourite part of the whole book! I loved the return of the favourite characters Bennett and his animal rescue. Stella, and Luca supporting best friends like they always have. Gossip Gus, and Miss Beatrix! Who couldn’t love miss Beatrix! And my favourite thing over the whole 3 books! The Phone Tree!! I listened to the audiobooks of this series and it had the same Female Narrator for all 3 books and I think she did a good job of giving each character a voice of their own.

VAGUE SPOILERS!

This book was perfection up until 88%. I loved both characters a lot, and the story was adorable, but I really really dislike the way this author does the third act breakups… each of the books in the series I hope this is the book where the conflict comes from somewhere else and every time there’s a stupid breakup that didn’t need to happen.
I was ready to give this book a 5⭐️ and I think Caleb is the best MMC we have met so far in this series, I adore him to pieces, and even the HORRIBLE Spanish pronunciation of the female narrator (it was seriously awful, I’m a native native speaker and I understood maybe 5% of what she said) was going to be ignored because I was loving the book that much, but the third act ruined it for me…
Still a great read though.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. I enjoyed the characters in this novel. It is a very cute romance movie. Perfect for Valentine's day coming up. The narrator did a great job, I would read from this author again.

I should have DNF'd this book. I thought it would never end. It felt so long. I also didn't really like the audiobook author's Southern accent that came and went.

While I didn't love the second in the series, I was completely blown away by this book! I adored these characters and their relationship was the cutest!! I cried happy tears and also the spice in this book was so well done. I adored this book, possibly more than Lovelight! It was wonderful and you should definitely read the series! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Once again, BK Borison has knocked it out of the park. I've adored this whole series, and Mixed Signals was no exception. I was eagerly awaiting Layla's romance story. Caleb and Layla were so perfectly matched, as all of Borison's couples have been.

Borison's writing is lovely. It made me nostalgic for a small town I've never been to, and man did it make me crave baked goods! These books get steamier as they go, with Mixed Signals definitely being the steamiest so far. I loved these scenes, and thought they were very well-written and not cheesy.

Pippa Jayne always slays these narrations. I was so glad to see that she narrated Mixed Signals, and to hear from Becca that she'll be doing the fourth book as well!

Oh my gosh I absolutely LOVED this latest installment of Lovelight Farms, and cannot wait for the next one!

Mixed Signals is one of the healthiest romance novels i’ve ever read. The fake-dating trope is usually hitched with some sort of miscommunication and misunderstanding, and despite the name, Mixed Signals has miscommunication running for the hills. It’s a fun, atmospheric romcom, (with a two chapter long spice scene!) and I adored every bit of it.
Layla and Caleb are so honest and open about themselves and their arrangement, and their communication impeccable. The dual POV, with dual narrators (who are wonderful!!), had me kicking my feet at both of their perspectives and their mutual pining and awkwardness. Layla is the ideal picture of sweetness and cottage-core instagram baker, while also having a heart of gold, and Caleb is the perfect unexpectedly handsome introvert, who truly understands and appreciates his partner.
I listened to this audiobook without having read the other two installments of the Lovelight Farms series, and while I can tell there are references and crossover characters that would make more sense if I’d read the books in order, I wasn’t left out or missing any crucial information.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the Lovelight Farms books so I can get to know the whole cast.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me with an audiobook ARC of this title.

3.5 and rounding up This is such a sweet romance, literally and metaphorically. For all you food lovers out there, get ready for lots of baked goods.

I haven’t read the others in the series, but I think this works very well as a standalone.

When it comes to romances, I don’t get too hung up on tropes, and this one does a very good job of making me not roll my eyes at the cliche’ and predictable situations. In fact, I laughed out loud a few times, which doesn’t happen very often when reading.

My one big requirement when it comes to relationships in this genre is that they aren’t toxic and that the plot doesn’t solely rely on miscommunication/lack of communication to be the crux of the drama.

On the contrary, MIXED SIGNALS is a great example of how communication can be super hot, and is the key to a healthy, sustainable relationship.

This surprisingly steaming, charming book was an easy read, with a dual narration. They used two narrators for the audiobook, which I always appreciate.

My biggest critique is with the Act III break up and reconciliation.

I feel like there was a missed opportunity to have Layla have some real character growth. Instead of focusing on her horrendous list of blind dates, we could have dove deeper on where her insecurities stem from (both romantically and professionally), mainly her family's disapproval of her life choices. It would have made her behavior more believable and sympathetic. Instead I grew increasingly frustrated with her, despite really rooting for her the whole book. The epilogue too was a missed chance to show some growth from her. Like getting into therapy, working on those feelings of needing to prove herself, ect.

B.K Borison knocks it out of the field for a third time. These audiobook are fantastic, and I can't get enough of this world.

Caleb and Layla were almost as cute as Luka and Stella. Layla was just too obtuse for her own good and Stella kind of did the same thing. I didn't like the narrator for Caleb though. His voice just didn't work for me.

I just really couldn't get into this book. I'm sure it was a me thing. but it was just so slow paced and drawn out that i just couldn't connect to the characters.
