Another amazing book from amazing author! This is fake dating goodness and I absolutely love it. I also love seeing from previous characters from other stories. It was cool to see their lives after their book. I’m only a lot sad that us over.

I have finally finished the three current Borison books, and this may have been my favorite <3! Didn't think we could beat Beckett, but Layla and Caleb are EVERYTHING. Add in the setting of a bakery, and you have the perfect love story.

Layla and Caleb have horrible dating histories, and agree to date each other for one month in order to learn their flaws and how to improve in relationships. Cute, right? I thought so.

There is one plot point/trope that I really dislike that appeared shortly, but overall LOVED this book.

I truly did not think that the series could get any better than In the Weeds which I absolutely loved!!! And somehow this one was just as good!

We get a little taste of these characters throughout the first two books, so it was super exciting for them to get their own book this time. Layla is the cake baker at the Lovelight Farms bakery and Caleb makes special trips just to have a reason to chat and get a taste of her amazing creations.

This turns into an amazing fake dating/teach them how to date situation which you of course know I love. Add in some great spice and I easily give this 5 stars and highly recommend. If the first Lovelight wasn’t quite your style I truly want you to give either this one or In the Weeds a try. It’s so worth it!!

Thank you to @Netgalley and @DreamscapeMedia for my audiobook copy of this amazing book!

I was really excited to read Layla and Caleb’s story so I was really excited to get the audio of this book!

I loved the premise of Mixed Signals and enjoyed watching it all play out. I loved that Caleb became Layla’s safe space and she could tell him what she needed and could see how she should be treated. He was there for her every step of the way with the patience of a saint!

I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this series when it’s available and whatever else B.K. Borrison writes!

Thank you so much for an arc of the audiobook for Mixed Signals by BK Borison in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. I went into it with really high expectations and every one of them was met. I loved the characters, their development and the stories. I also love the cast of characters and being able to see them again in this book.

The narration for this novel was so good. Both narrators did an amazing job with the characters and I would definitely look for books narrated by them again in the future.

I highly recommend this audiobook!

After listening to all three of these I suggest reading them In order for sure! B.K. has a true talent for setting up a romance and I look forward to each of her books… you get small town charm, found family, and the most unique and delectable careers which is oddly what I obsess over in books!

I've taken an interest in RomComs lately. This was a little more Rom than Com. I didn't enjoy the main characters as much as the background ones. This would make a cute movie though.

I absolutely adored the entire Lovelight series by BK Borison. This third instalment in the small town series was sweet and spicy, but a little heavy on the miscommunication. The couple was extremely easy to root for! My only big complaint was that the voice for Caleb didn't fit him, in my opinion. Overall, a must read/listen!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC.

Layla and Caleb as a couple - even for experimental purposes- is something I did not see coming!! Love this series!!

Thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher for early access to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

💭Thoughts:
I loved the first two books in this series. So I was excited for sweet Layla to get her chance at love. This is a very sweet and spicy book. Caleb is a sweetie and I loved his adoration for Layla. My sweet tooth enjoyed all of the references to baking and baked goods.

Layla’s narration was great, but honestly I didn’t think the voice for Caleb fit him. It just didn’t match the sexy, police officer I’ve been envisioning. I’m also not totally sure I understand how he went from being a cop to a teacher overnight, but hey I’ll go with it. The miscommunication was a bit much in this book compared to the others in the series. A bit repetitive.

Overall, this is a cute book and a fun series. Definitely recommend you read this series if you haven’t already!

This small town, steamy romance had great characters. This book was an all around fun read. It was well written and drew me in from start to finish. This is my second book by this author that I’ve had the privilege of listening to. I loved this fake date story trope. While it’s familiar but unique and different at the same time. Huge thanks to the audiobook publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to listen and review this book.

You all… this book was so sweet. I seriously loved every moment of it. From the perfect meet up in the beginning to all the little cute moments throughout, I couldn’t put this one down.

Caleb was written so perfectly as the bashful but not too shy guy who harbors a long time crush on Layla. I laughed with all their silly dates and had all the feels when they did. Such a great book!

Make sure to have something sweet while you are reading because there is a LOT of mention of food!

My only comment is on the audio. The male narrator didn’t seem prepared well enough on the characters and his voice for Charlie was all wrong. So much so that I think he realized it half way through the audio and changed it up a bit.

🧁Book Review: Mixed Signals by B.K. Borison 💕

5/5 ⭐️

I absolutely loved this book and honestly, the Lovelight Farms series may be my favorite series ever!

This book is the third in the series and Layla is the best (in my opinion). She has given up on love and decides to fake date her Caleb Alvarez. One month of no-strings dating. He’ll help restore her faith in men while she figured out why he never gets a second date.

You’ll like this book if you like:
•small town romances
•steamy characters and lots of chemistry 🔥
•amazing side characters
•Gilmore Girls vibes

I absolutely love the Lovelight Farms series and this book just confirmed my love for this series. If you love sunshine/sunshine, fake dating, baking, dual POV, Small town romance with a bit of spice then this book is for you! It is seriously so sweet and I instantly loved Caleb for Layla. They were just so perfect for each other and I seriously couldn't stop smiling. As usual with this series the side characters were also amazing! The narrators were great and added more depth to the characters. All in all I loved it and highly recommend it!

If you are not reading B.K. Borison, you should strongly consider starting. I'm obsessed. Truly, everything about the Lovelight series has worked for me, on literally every level, and Mixed Signals was no different. This was such a fun spin on fake dating or practice intimacy that I just had the best time. Did I sometimes with Layla and Caleb would have one conversation wherein they just said how the felt without trying to out-think the other one to keep from getting hurt? Of course. But at the end of the day, not only did every bit of this feel incredibly realistic, I also loved both characters so much. I love the sense of community Borison has created in Inglewild. I genuinely want to be a part of this nosy phone tree situation and to be able to place bets on when people are going to get together. I know that all I'm doing is gushing about this book, but if nearly a month hasn't given me the ability to be coherent about this book, I'm not sure anything will. So, yeah, if you haven't read B.K. Borison, you should really consider giving her books a shot.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook version of this book. I am not affiliated with or compensated in any way for my review. Everything I write is of my own thoughts feelings and opinions. This book is written by B.K. Borison it was narrated by Pippa Jayne and Julio Maxwell.
Wow this book was defiantly a smut book disguised by a sweet cover! This book is the third in a series- with that said you can read this book as a standalone and you will be just fine. This is a fun small town romance with steamy sex that grabs you the reader and you just want to know what will happen next.

My Thoughts:
I love that this one has two narrators to each handle the characters respective POV’s… this is something that tbh is a must for me in dual POV audiobooks.

I absolutely loved Layla and Caleb together as they were just so freaking cute! I loved that he fell first and had been crushing on her forever… and that it was so obvious his family knew and were poking the bear.

I also enjoyed the way they started their fake dating to use it as a way for both of them to get better at dating since their respective dating lives sucked.

And then when they took their fake dating to add in some benefits the spice was well done.

If you want to be transported to the quant bakery at at Lovelight Farms and be surrounded by those from the prior books in the series I highly recommend checking this one out asap! But it can also be read as a stand-alone if you haven’t read the other books in the series yet.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my ARC of this audiobook!

3.5⭐

Book 3 in the LoveLight series ~ although a standalone, previous characters made quite a few appearances.

Featuring ~ dual 1st person POV, sunshine/sunshine, bakery owner, teacher, no strings dating, small town, secret crush, good amount of steamage

Layla & Caleb
Wasn't super dupes in love with this one like I thought I'd be. I enjoyed book 1, I skipped book 2, but that shouldn't really matter since we've got a different love story happening here. I really hate going out of order, but it's too late now.
Yeah they had good chemistry, but I did not care for how the ending of the no strings dating played out. Eventually it works out, of course, but the journey there was just okay for me.

Narrated by Pippa Jayne and Julio Maxwell for 10 hours and 16 minutes, easy to follow at 2-2.5x. Julio was alright as Caleb, but pretty awful with any other voice he tried. Pretty sure Pippa narrated Lovelight Farms too, and she did a fine job as Layla, but not her male voices.

I'll probably go back and listen to book 2 if I can find it on Libby so I can see what Beckett and Evie have to offer.
