“You really don’t know much about me, do you?”
“Emerson. No one knows much about you.”

We loved this book! This is our first book by Kelsey Humphreys, and what a wonderfully delightful opposite attract romance it was! And talk about opposites! Samantha and Emerson couldn’t be more different. A chatty, larger-than-life extrovert, and a grumpy nonsyllabic introvert. It could never work, right? Never say never. If, like us, you love this trope, check out this book because this author pulled it off splendidly. We felt it all!

‘Once minute he’s beaming salty sex rays at me with his grin, the next he’s as cold as a blizzard blowing right out the door. ‘

A true grumpy sunshine (they don’t come grumpier or sunnier than Sam and Emerson) romance with a workplace vibe, which delivered the perfect balance of humour – oh wow did we laugh out loud at times. This book had it all! Chemistry, tension, emotion, and passion! Not to mention the beautiful blend of friendship and sisterhood with Sam’s sister. These four sisters – though very different from each other, were great support and a good laugh when Sam needed it. And did she need it! Who knew what the gorgeous Emerson was thinking half the time!

‘So, where I am too much, Emerson Clark is…he’s a freaking void, that’s what he is. If I’m sunshine, he’s a cloud. He’s a black hole.’

Samantha Canton is the extroverted daughter of the head of Canton Cards, who is off on a one-month business trip to Europe- or a schmoozalapooza as Sam calls it. When plans change, her traveling companion becomes the uptight British CEO, Emerson Clark. Not much intimidates the outgoing, no-filter Sam, but the cold Mr. Clark sure does. She’s a babbling mess around him.

‘He’s staring at me, blinking, like his brain could only keep up with maybe a third of what I just projectiled out so fast, as if speed talking is an Olympic sport and I’m going for gold.’

Sam decides, with the help of her sisters, to set in motion ‘Operation thaw Mr. Frosty’ in the hope she and the closed-off Emerson can become friends.

‘I’d rather be lonely than be a scared, watered-down version of myself.’

Introverted Emerson’s entire itinerary for the next month is in the hands of the most extroverted of extroverted, over-the-top sweethearts you could find. How will they survive one another?

‘Don’t ever dress yourself down for anyone.”

Easy breezy meets moody broody in this fun frolicking, though at times painfully real emotional romance. The banter is spot on, the romance is heart-gripping, and the chemistry is brilliant. What an introduction!! We need more of this series. We can’t wait for the next book!

“This is real, Emerson. I want you. Now look me in my eyes and try to tell me you don’t want me too.”

This book was so cute! The chemistry was off the charts between them and I was soo rooting for them! Prepare to cry and love every second of it!

This book left me with a huge smile on my face. Yes, Sam can be a lot; however, her optimistic attitude about life is refreshing as she truly loves and cares for those around her. The trip with Icy Emerson to Europe started in negative territory as she was determined for them to be friends despite his continuing dismissal of her at the office. She succeeded at that and more! They certainly found themselves to have a ton in common in terms of family obligation with respect to work and the legacy that is expected. Once their secrets were revealed to each other at the end, love prevailed. His thoughtfulness was heart warming and touching. Yellow. As he said, she was the opus in and of itself. A fun and great read.

Thanks NetGalley!

The cover is stunning! I love cartoon covers a lot!

It was cute, sweet, slow burn romance. It is good for reading slump, funny and characters have chemistry.
Check it out if you liked the synopsis. You’ll probably not be disappointed.
Best of luck!

So so cute. Even when I knew where it was headed, I loved it. And the slow burn was outstanding! Only thing I would change - it might be a smidge too long. Otherwise-I adored this one!

Cuteness overload!
I loved
loved
loved Sam and Emerson!!!!!
Queue all the exclamation points!!!!!

I am a total sucker for the extrovert wins over the introvert trope but this book took it to a new level and I am here for it!

Samantha is outgoing and bubbly and everything that Emerson isn’t. Should they make sense, no, do they? Perfectly so

The writing is fantastic, the characters are unique and so enjoyable. You will not regret this read!!!!!!!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are my own

This book was really fun. We come in seeing Sam finding out that she will go on a trip with the icy hot British man, Emerson (is that name really hot or is it just me???) and they do not mesh well... At first, anyways.

It took me a little bit to start the book. Samantha's personality really shone throughout the pages... a little too much. Kind of like staring directly at the sun. However, besides that I found myself really enjoying the book, and honestly, I do really enjoy characters that are "too much", especially in society's standards. My introverted mind was just overwhelmed, but I appreciated her as a character. I loved the juxtaposition between the two characters, Sam and Emerson. The sunshine girl and the ice man. The extrovert and the introvert. I would have loved dual POV to maybe help balance out the sunshine.

The book was pretty funny. The plot was great and really kept me hooked. Sam's oversharing was fun to read. Emerson made me swoon a lot, and that grand gesture. The ending was good!

This is book 2, but you can read this as a standalone. I'm interested to see the first book!

If you like The Hating Game, Dreamland Billionaires series, and The Spanish Love Deception, you should give this a try!

I have not laughed out loud at a book this much in a long time! Things I Overshared was funny, swoony, and had just the right amount of tension and drama. Samantha and Emerson were hilarious together at times, and I especially loved their banter. Will definitely be reading more in this series!

If you are looking for tropical sun sunny FMC and New England winter grey grumpy MMC, look no further, dear friends! This is a sweet romantic comedy of opposites fighting attraction. I was not sure I would like the Samantha with big personality who talks through everything. But I adore her! I hope I grow up (in my middleage) to be half as verbal as she is!

OMG and Emerson! He is such a sweetie under all that grump! Total fun fest!

It feels like an early Christmas 🎁!

Where do I even start gushing about this book?! Obviously with our badass FMC Samantha Canton. She was the star of the book.
In the beginning I was baffled by her and thought she was very over the top. But then I came to realise she isn’t faking it. It’s really her personality- A very bubbly, enthusiastic, friendly, funny, flirty person with a huge trusting heart. I adored her.
And hero Emerson he was her complete opposite. Grumpy, miser with words, uptight, a prodigy and secretly in love with her(that I guessed).

And let’s not even start on how hilarious this book was. The dialogues, monologues, characters, situations, all of it cracked me up. That too from the beginning to the ending.

Also the familial bond in this book is solid gold. I loved how all 4 sisters came to support Samantha when she was broken. They were a huge part of the story and I can’t wait to read their books.

This book have all the hit components like;

- Grumpy x sunshine ( Emerson stays like that from start to end).
- Forced proximity (I loved their business trip to Europe).
-Enemies to lovers.
-Office Romance,(he falls first).
-Grovelling.
-Hilarious, Uplifting, feel good romance.

Me ( reading the first couple chapters): idk if I’m gonna get through this one. It’s overdone and cheesy.

Also me: *stays up till 1am to finish the book* wow

Okay, so this book has broken my streak of not staying up to finish a book. I haven’t done it since March of this year!!! I thought I’ll just read another chapter before I got bed and all of a sudden I turn the page and it tells me I’m done ???????

I do have a lot of problems with this book though. Mainly, I noticed it at some point the book just brush over details and. Like instead of the play by play of truly seeing them fall in the love we got a chapter for most days just summarizing what happened so that we can get to a main plot point. I did enjoy all the different tropes and the different spin on the grumpy brooding love interest. Little spin but a twirl nonetheless!

This book was literally like crack! I read it every second I wasn’t doing something important. I canceled dinner plans to continue reading. I thought about this every time I couldn’t read. This was a sweet, cheesy, romance and loved every bit!

4.5☆ rounded up cos I'm feeling generous

I loved this book so much. I loved Samantha and her "too much" personality. She does everything big and with her whole self - work, friends, family, love and hurt. She's absolutely the kind of friend I would love to have and be around but it's easy for those extroverted personalities to get misunderstood and taken advantage of, like Sam does. Thankfully, she recognises what she deserves, she puts herself first and she remembers to never ever water herself down. And the Canton sisters! As a sister myself, I am weak for strong sister bonds and theirs had me welling up and howling with laughter with familiarity and sisterly love. The scene where they sing to her had me genuinely sobbing, iykyk.

Emerson, Mr Clark, Frosty, oh boyyyy. The part of my heart this fictional man has will be forever his. His deadpan comments and sarcastic comments were everything. The way he acts with Sam was frustrating as hell cos *you know* he is lowkey secretly pining for her - it's the only excuse for being the major a-hole he is and when it all come to a head, it is swoon-worthy. He is soft, sweet, romantic and just absolutely delicious. This opposites attract / grumpy x sunshine pairing was perfect. The smut in this book isn't as explicit or detailed as others but it is in there and adds that little bit of spice I love with my romance.

The only thing that stopped this being a 5☆ review was the small comments about what Samantha eats. Whether or not she eats carbs or comments regarding her diet did not add to the story nor were they pertinent to the storyline so, for me, could have done with being left out altogether. I also would have loved a scene or two more in Emerson's POV but I did really enjoy this story and will absolutely be diving into the other sister's stories.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I'm always a fan of rom coms, but this was my first Kelsey Humphreys book. I really enjoyed her writing style and I found Samantha to be really relatable as a narrator.

What I loved:
-If you loved the Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood, Emerson gives me similar Adam Carlsen vibes. He's quiet, introverted, intelligent, extremely caring.
- This book is kind of like a play on grumpy/sunshine, but instead it's opposites- introverted/extroverted. I mean, in my opinion, Emerson is definitely grumpy and Samantha is undeniably a sunshine character (with more depth). I really enjoyed this trope!
- This book is fast paced and easy to read. I finished it very quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it
- The Canton sister bond. I loved it! I loved how they all came together for Samantha and it was as if you could actually feel the love while reading this one.

What I didn't:
- I wish I could have known more personal details about Samantha throughout the book. She's the main narrator but her thoughts are mostly surface level. You don't get into her "crisis" until toward the end of the book. I liked her and would have loved to know more about her!
- I would have loved this book as a dual POV. I would have liked to have more insight into what Emerson was thinking but regardless, I respect Kelsey's decision to make this a predominantly single POV through Samatha. It made more sense as to why it was written this way at the end of the book.

If you're looking for an opposites attract rom com, give this one a try!

Thanks to NetGalley, Kelsey Humphreys and Magnamour for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Loved. Loved, loved, loved. I stayed up way too late reading; I had to know how it turned out. The book was brimming with a slow-burn tension, a sort of enemies-to-lovers, close proximity love story. I believed everything about the romance, and I truly enjoyed watching it unfold. I actually want to read it again, immediately, to re-live it and feel all the stomach-flipping spiciness once more.

As an introvert, I related a bit more to Emerson than Samantha. I can understand his reluctance to attending social outings, and I really loved how Samantha was able to see him and be his support whenever they had an event to go to.

I enjoyed the sisters text chat that was sprinkled throughout the story. It made me feel like I was in the book, part of the family. I don't have any sisters, so I am a wee bit jealous of this fictional family and the way they love and support one another.

This is a book I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a good opposites-attract love story. Sam and Emerson are #relationshipgoals and I absolutely believed their love was real and true.

An opposites-attract and grump/sunshine trope with a bit of an age gap romance!

I enjoyed Matt and Skye in the first book in this series that I requested this second one featuring the Icy Emerson and bubbly Sam.

I almost DNFed this during the first third since I found Sam, well, too much, but she grew on me as the story progressed. Also, I got confused with Emerson's hot and cold demeanor that it sometimes felt that he was just stringing Sam along and didn't actually like her. Their relationship felt forced somehow. I'm, too, not a fan of miscommunication in romances especially ones that can be resolved if only the characters sat down for not more than five minutes and talk.

To cap, I love the ending and how everything came together. Emerson also pulled a Joshua Templeman, so iykyk, HA.

I'm still looking forward to the other sisters' stories considering I highly enjoy all their banters and their group chats.

Thank you to Magnamour, NetGalley and the author for providing me my early copy. All opinions are honest and my own.

I loved the first book in this series Things I Should Have Said. Kelsey Humphrey does not disappoint with her follow up Things I Overshared. I am far from and extrovert, so I often felt uncomfortable with some of Sam’s (the FMC) word vomits. But I grew to love her as I kept on with the book. The slow burn between Sam and Emerson, who I must mention are complete opposites, will have you hooked and wanting so much more. Kelsey knows how to deliver witty dialog and raw emotions. I can’t wait to see what she puts out next! Thank you for the ARC.
