Natty has to move with her father back to Miller Creek with his parents, her grandparents, when her mother says she needs to take a break. She, Natty, is determined to make the best of it. She tries to make new friends and creates a pep squad for her middle school.
During this, her bff she left at home is having trouble and accuses Natty of not being a good friend. Her first friend at Miller Creek is having trouble and accuses Natty of not being a good friend. The new members of her pep squad are talking when they don't know she can hear them about her and admit they only joined the pep squad to make fun of her. Her father has gone from sleeping all day to dating her teacher in secret. Her mother makes excuses not to visit her in Miller Creek.
She seems to always be in a good mood and "good vibes only!" attitude. Can she always be in a good mood and positive?

I was given the opportunity to read this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

It is very difficult to review this book fairly as the narrator was so awful (monotone), I was unable to finish the book.

I am an avid audiobook listener, and I realize this was not a professional narrator, but you must choose better narrators to give a book a chance.

From what I listened to, however, I found the book pretty uninteresting. It just took too long for me to engage with Natty, and while I’m sure the pep club will change lives, I just couldn’t buy into the premise. I’m sorry to say I will not be recommending this book.

Awww you will fall in I love with Natty ~ I certainly did!
Natty and her dad moved from Long Island to live with her paternal grandparents in Miller Creek. Her mother has been dealing with depression and needs some time alone
Natty accepts the move with a positive attitude. However she is also going through a lot and decides putting on a happy face will help her deal with these feelings. She wants to fix it but doesn’t know how. She is sure she does not want to talk about her feelings

I love the cover and yes “Good Vibes Only!” is good approach. I personally believe there is power in being positive. Being negative and feeling sorry for yourself drives you down into more negativity.
However, many times it is very hard to deal with so many issues. There are times when you need to accept support.
Young readers will enjoy Natty's revelation that everyone has struggles, and its okay to admit that things are not going well.

As a high school guidance counselor I know teens deal with many issues- personal problem as well. Many don’t know how to deal with it and turn to a negative approach that creates a new problem such as drugs, alcohol, and negative behavior-bulling, cutting and suicide. This negative approach usually gets negative attention but doesn’t solve the problem.
Moral of the story is that bad things happen ~ just about everyone is dealing with some struggles; and Yes! It is okay to admit it. Talking about your feelings; may not completely solve the situation but may help with coping.

Want to thank NetGalley and Harper Audio for granted me this early VoiceGalley.

I love Natty. She has the heart and fire we all need to seek. This book broke my heart and put it back together I appreciate that this book has a strong focus on how to communicate feelings. Such a hard but essential thing to know. Perfect for discussion groups.

I received a copy of this audiobook from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is all about the power of positive thinking. Unfortunately Natty overdoes the positivity and misses out on seeing her friends very real struggles. Also that her family is kind of falling apart. I enjoyed listening to Natty and her new found friends form a pep squad. But I did get angry with Natty not listening. Also the narrator sounded too old to be reading this book. She sounded like a fully form adult not a preteen and it though me off topic at times. I think that may have added to my anger issues with Natty. Overall a fun book but probably better to read then listen too.
