This was a fun graphic novel to read. Life for Lily gets turned upside down when a house cat moves into her enclosure. At first Lily wonders what they are doing there, and is perplexed when Tig says she is a tiger like her. When Lily starts to talk more with Tig, she begins to wonder if she is a Tiger or not. As this tale comes to a close, Lily ends up making a brand new friend.

A simple enough story that may help young readers build some reading skills. The illustrations are simple and easy enough to follow. There's not a lot to it and doesn't have much in the way of messaging.

My son liked this book a lot. he has been really into graphic novels so I am constantly looking for books like this to get him to read. I read the first half of the book as well and thought it was well done!

This was a fun elementary graphic novel about Tig and Lily. Tig is a house cat that thinks they’re a tiger and the Lily is a tiger that is now worried they are not really a tiger. These two form a cute friendship that is sure to lead to lots of trouble down the line. I enjoyed this book, but I do feel there is a certain population that might see this as a trans story even though it’s not and start banning it. This book is about acceptance of who you are and how you can be anything you want to be. It’s also about how you have and make friends and how they help you whenever you need it. This story was cute and fun and kids are going to love it.

Tig and Lily: Tiger Triuble is a funny story about a cat who thinks he’s a tiger. It’s a lot of fun to watch the real tigers around him get so confused. Tiger Trouble is also about a tiger that stands up for her friend against a couple of bullies. I enjoyed watching the interactions between Tig and Lily and the crisis that ensues. I also appreciated the message about friendship and being yourself.
This graphic novel is a great one for young readers, maybe middle grade, anyone who likes to laugh, and especially for kids who love facts about animals. I could see this being a great fit as a bedtime story for parents to read younger kids- maybe a chapter a night- it gave me serious Elephant and Piggy vibes. Easy to recommend!

Tig comes into Lily the tiger's enclosure and announced that HE is a tiger and she is most definitely not. What follows is a push pull of who is a tiger and that Lily won't be bossed around (she is).

And therein lies my concern with this title. It is cute. The concept of cat versus tiger is cute, but Tig is way too pushy. Lily is almost convinced she is not a tiger and later she is making Tig a soft bed. The other tigers also get their existence called into question and something about this bothered me. Tig won't hear that he isn't a tiger and while it would be fine for him to go ahead and be a tiger (albeit not), having the tigers not be tigers even though they know they are, is just off. While I doubt it would confuse many readers who get this is a story, I feel like it could confuse some. Thankfully, there are tiger facts in this volume and that is a nice touch.

Overall, I'm somewhat disappointed in this title. The friendship relies heavily on one friend is right and awesome and the other goes along. Lily doesn't seem like she gets much say in this friendship.

I received an electronic ARC from Random House Children's Publishing through NetGalley.
Readers meet a house cat who thinks they are a tiger. Tig arrives at the tiger enclosure at the zoo and meets Lily. The two get off to a bit of a rocky start as Tig convinces Lily she is not a tiger. Readers will love the humor of this tiny house cat confusing a tiger. Through the following chapters, we see Lily come to appreciate Tig and stand up for him to other tigers. The dialogue is simple to follow and makes the readers feel they are standing there with them. Clever artwork captures the habitat and the character expressions. A fun read that slips in information on tigers as well.

This graphic novel was absolutely adorable and I would recommend it to kids who like to learn about animals because it includes facts. It is a must-read for sure!

What makes a tiger, a tiger? Is it the stripes? The roar? This is something that Lily, the tiger at the local zoo, has never had to worry about -- until she meets the fiercest animal of them all . . . her new roommate. Tig might look like a house cat, might sound like a house cat, but Tig knows he is a Tiger.

The competition is on as these two cats figure out what it means to be a Tiger . . . and a friend.

This book just warms my heart. The idea that a cat would feel so passionate about being a tiger, that they are willing to move into a tiger enclosure. Just such a fun story, one about acceptance and learning that just because someone sees you one way doesn’t mean that you are not something else as well. I truly love how Lily is asked to take a deeper look at what makes her a tiger. When the other tigers cause Tig to cry Lily is right there to affirm Tig and show her fellow tigers that there is more then one way to be a tiger. Such a sweet book, and one that I am so excited to start recommending to patrons.
Thank you so much to Random House Children’s and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book.
