Thank you to Harper Collins for sending me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Holy crap this book was amazing.

"The Sleeping House was very much awake" . . .

This book gives off the Haunting of Bly Manor vibes to a T. Although me explaining why is a huge spoiler but the writing just draws you in and doesn't let you go until the last page. i will be making a FULL review closer to release because anything i want to scream about is a spoiler.

But i promise you. this book has the creepy spooky oceanside mansion vibes you want.

I was really invested in what was going on in this story, Kyrie McCauley has a wonderful way of telling the story and still be a horror novel. This was a beautifully done gothic romance and I was taken on a journey. The characters were so well done and I really enjoyed getting to know them. It was what I was hoping for and look forward to reading more from Kyrie McCauley.

"Marin never fell back to sleep. It was just as well because she didn’t expect she’d get lucky twice in one night with regard to her nightmare. At dawn, she gave up on sleep and rose for the day, throwing back her curtain to find a shoreline drenched in fog, with gray clouds hanging heavy in the sky."

Marin’s alone and destitute now that her mom has died until famous horror writer, Alice Lovelace gives her room and board in exchange for watching her two young daughters. But the house is gothic creepy, the two young girls beastly, and dead birds keep appearing in her room. With no where else to go Marin must put up with the cruelty from the girls until their oldest sister Evie comes home from school and everything changes.
Gothically delicious, I couldn’t put it down.
