I really loved the Wolf Bound series but given that the Wolf God was not a great character in that, I was a bit sceptical about this spin off. However, I shouldn't have worried - I came to adore Cadean. In contrast, Samantha was incredibly annoying and I found myself regularly frustrated with her. The pacing was also a bit strange, and at times it was an effort to force myself to pick the book back up. Definitely not my favourite from the author!

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Thanks NetGalley for the digital copy to read and give an honest opinion about the story!

How nice it was to find this story. But how ugly to have to wait to have to read the second book, because it clearly ends up very handy.

This story in a magical world, which was not very well developed and that is why I lowered a star, leads us to meet two strong, independent characters who are constantly on the line of what is right or wrong to do.

On the one hand Sam, who doesn't know if he's really doing the right thing. If she is betraying her pack, if she is betraying her ideals and values, but there is something that attracts her and makes her trust that monster that she promised to destroy.

On the other, Cadean, a being that became a monster due to the war that plagues his land. He is on the fine line of good and evil, if what he does is a way to counteract the evil that is done to him or if he destroys and continues this endless cycle.

That's something I loved about this book, that the characters are not GOOD or BAD. They are there, in a strange gray.

Mainly Sam constantly considers what he does, what he feels and his ideals.

I liked having the point of view of both, although Sam predominates, and I liked that too!

I look forward to reading the second 😍

High intensity, high heat, high emotions. These two are explosive. Couldn’t put this book down. You won’t regret reading this amazing book.
