Frankie Morgan faces a tough life dealing with difficult clients, a grumpy neighbor, and the person who killed her mother. When she attends an anger-management session, she reluctantly makes a list of people who've upset her. Strangely, the list disappears, and those she named start having dangerous accidents. Frankie needs to figure out if it's just a coincidence or something more sinister before she becomes the next target.

Another fantastic read by the author who has become a must read for me. The book started off on the slow side and I had some doubts about it. The second half picks up in a big way and has some very unexpected twists. The book had a very different premise and the author stuck to her style of family and how it impacts our lives. A solid thriller for sure and one I would recommend to others.

A dark and unique read, I gobbled this one up! I couldn't put it down. I didn't really care for any of the characters but I guess that was the point. 5 stars and excited for more by the author!

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

3 stars. I loved Hannah Mary Mckinnon’s book “The Neighbor’s”, but this one is not a favorite. I was put on edge by Frankie’s constant anger. She was a very unlikable character, although her back story does clue the reader into why. Overall, this story was an okay read, even though it was a bit unbelievable at times.
Thank you Harlequin trade publishing and net galley for the complementary advanced copy of the book.

Frankie, struggling with anger and trying to sort out her life, ends up in anger management. The facilitator has them write a list of people they need to forgive. Frankie writes her list, full of sorrow and regret, a list of past hurts, including herself.

When the people on her list are injured one at a time, it could be coincidence or it could be something a bit more sinister.

I won't lie, I went into this one really blind and it took me a while to figure out where it was going but once it took off, it was what I expect from McKinnon....twisty and psychological. I figured out the big twist at the end at about the halfway point but that didn't really impact my enjoyment of the story. The epilogue left me wondering if we're going to see more of Frankie's story, but even if we don't, this one was a satisfying thriller by an author I consistently enjoy.

Hannah Mary McKinnon has been a must-read author for me from her very first book. This is another great one that makes you think as well. How many of you write things down to expunge your feelings but never actually intend anyone to see it? I do. So did Frankie. Her list was of all the people who she feels have wronged her -- she even included herself. But when the list goes missing and the people on it starting meeting their untimely deaths, she needs to figure out what is going on. Intrigued? You should be! Pick this one up; it's so good.

Whoops, I read this book in May 2023. And while I still love HMM writing, I couldn't get behind this MC, she was the worst! Which perhaps makes this book good?? I felt like the MC brought on on all her problems herself, so there was no sympathy from me. Just stop doing things, and then bad things will stop happening. haha. I will say I enjoyed the 'twist' although I guessed it. Felt it tied everything up nicely. While this wasn't a fav, it won't stop me from reading everything HMM writes. :)

This book is so similar to a book I read but I can’t remember what the book was name, and MC pov just pissed me.

This one wasn’t a home run for me. I tried to see things from the MC’s POV but struggled. Overall it was just an “ok” read. I’ve heard the authors previous book is good so I’ll try that one.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and MIRA publishers for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Have you ever been so unbelievable consumed with something. Rage, sadness, happiness etc, that it becomes your entire life? Well that is what has happened with Frankie although she is consumed with revenge.
The whole "List" isn't suppose to be a Revenge list but rather part of her healing process in her anger-management classes ( yes, Frankie does have anger issues...that should be no surprise.

The list goes missing and whoever finds it, goes through it as if it is an execution list. However, there is no real way to prove that the killings that are happening to the peop[e on the "List" are a result of someone stealing the list (although it was my first guess)

This was absolutely a page turner that I could not put down.

The Revenge List by Hannah Mary McKinnon took a look at revenge and how it can overwhelm and consume a person. FMC Frankie has a past that has brought on major anger management challenges in her life. Her story begins with a list that is problematic in that it should be a forgiveness list but also reads like a revenge list. When it goes missing, people start getting hurt.

The premise of the story was intriguing for me as I really enjoy Hannah’s ability to twist and turn her stories but this one fell for me in the last section. Yes total twists and turns which kept me thinking but it felt very rushed. Like all of Hannah’s work she is able to make you question what is right and wrong.

This novel was entertaining. Was it my favourite from Hannah, No, but I am not upset that I read it. I cannot wait for what else Hannah brings to the table in the future. Thank you to @netgalley and @harpercollins @mirabooks for my digital ARC in return for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own.

3.5/5
This is my second book by HMM. Did I enjoy reading the book, yes. Was Frankie annoying and get herself into so bad situations that could have been avoided, yes. Was the ending a little meh, yes.

I had really high hopes for this one since I loved Never Coming Home. The first 50% of this book, I was all in and didn't want to put it down, but it felt a little repetitive and I could kind see where it was going. I was hopeful I was wrong, but I wasn't. The ending left me wanting more as I felt it we may get another book with Frankie. Will I read another HMM book, absolutely!

Dark, twisted and terrifying, The Revenge List is the mesmerizing new thriller by Hannah Mary McKinnon.

Finding herself in an anger-management class should come as no surprise to Frankie Morgan. The people in her life describe her as angry, combative and as somebody who would pick an argument in an empty room. Not that Frankie doesn’t have good reason for her fury as she has to contend with a neighbor who gets on her nerves, insufferable clients and the heart-wrenching knowledge that the driver who had killed her mother has evaded the supposedly long arm of the law. Frankie is naturally skeptical about this group anger-management session and she cannot help but roll her eyes at the frequently regurgitated mantras being spouted that forgiveness is key and that she needs to compile a list of every single person who has wronged her over the years to exorcise her demons. This was meant to be a relatively simple and straightforward exercise – until something very sinister begins to happen.

The list suddenly goes missing, but that is the least of Frankie’s problems. One by one, the people named in the list start getting hurt in freak accidents that have started to get more and more unsettling – and each one is deadlier than the last. Is this mere coincidence? Or could someone have got hold of her list and started to exact vengeance on her behalf? Frankie has got no time to lose – especially as her name is also in a very prominent position on this list and if she doesn’t find out who is behind it all, then she could be the next victim!

Hannah Mary McKinnon’s thrillers never fail to keep me turning the pages until three in the morning and The Revenge List is no different. Shocking, unpredictable and propulsive, this nail-biting page-turner is full of menace, tension, intrigue and suspense and I was on the edge of my seat and left reeling from jaw-dropping twist after jaw-dropping twist.

Chilling, unsettling and so creepy I had to sleep with the lights on for days, The Revenge List is another winner for Hannah Mary McKinnon.

Entertaining and immersive. A recommended purchase for collections where crime and thrillers are popular.

I struggled with this one at the beginning. It didn’t grab me right away and it took awhile to get into it.
However, it picked up and I loved the ending. I was pulled into this thriller.

Ahhh I LOVE Hannah's books and have not had one disappoint me yet, BUT...I couldn't finish this one. I don't know if it was the writing style or the character but I was having a very hard time getting in to the book and getting through it. I couldn't stand the main character and I think that was what I was having a hard time with. Maybe I'll come back to it one day but this was a miss for me.

The Revenge List is a thriller about an angry woman, Frankie, who creates a revenge list, leading to attacks and eventually murder. The plot is initially intriguing but becomes predictable as the reveal tease approaches. While it is good on a popcorn thriller level, the expectations are too high. The book has some fun parts, including nods to Lisa Unger, but the ending and final chapter are ridiculous. The book is readable but has high expectations. An ARC of the book was received in exchange for an honest review.
