Hannah Mary McKinnon is an auto-read author for me and this newest read was another winner for me.
Due to a work-related incident, Frankie is encouraged to attend an anger management course. As part of the first class, she creates a Forgiveness List, a list of people who have wronged her, with the goal of letting go of her anger towards these people. When she misplaces her list and accidents start happening to the people on this list, Frankie isn't sure if someone is trying to help her or hurt her.
I've never been disappointed by this author. The pace is good and the red herrings keep you guessing. Each book has a nice little twist at the end and this one was no different. Highly recommended!

Such a good book! Frankie has been forced by her father to attend anger management classes because of her ongoing anger. At the first session they are assigned to make a forgiveness list. Frankie’s list is quite long, and she realizes it is also a revenge list. Her list goes missing, and people on the list end up hurt or killed. The book follows her as she tries to determine who has the list and why these people are being hurt. I felt the book is a little slow at the beginning and Frankie’s anger problems seem somewhat tedious. However, the book becomes better about 1/3 of the way through, and after that it became fast-paced and definitely engaging. The book held my attention even while reading the first part of the book. The ending of the book was somewhat of a surprise and I’m hoping there will be a sequel to this book. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. The Revenge List was instantly intriguing to me and I am incredibly thankful that I received both the arc and the Netgalley widget so that I could read it on my kindle at night. I wish I could rave about this one but it was really slow for my taste. I believe I was 56% through the book before it even started killing some of the people on her list.⁣

I definitely think it had too many details I think some parts we could’ve gone without. It’s a nice novel but it’s not one that’s going to stay in my mind. Overall this would be fun I think for beginners in the mystery genre.

The Revenge List had a lot of potential but for me it fell flat at times.

The story follows Frankie Morgan as she deals with anger management issues and investigates how all the people she placed on her personal revenge list are mysteriously getting injured.

Frankie was a very challenging character to root for and I found myself questioning almost everything she did! I feel like her anger management issues were almost too textbook to seem relatable. I definitely struggled to connect at times and felt it was repetitive though the middle.

I did enjoy the overall story line and I thought the twist was very good and so shocking! I also felt like the ending was true to the character — which I loved!

The best word to describe this book is unhinged, yet I couldn’t put it down.

At her first anger management class, Frankie is tasked with creating a forgiveness list, which quickly becomes her revenge list. When she loses her notebook, it is no coincidence that a series of mysterious “accidents” start to happen to those she listed. Surely they can’t be linked to her… or can they?!

To me, this didn’t read like a thriller. Yes, there was suspense and a bit mystery but nothing gave off that vibe until around 30%. Even then, it was a slow-burn filled with dysfunctional family drama and a whole lot of self-discovery. Frankie is probably the angriest main character I’ve ever read about and while I wanted to dislike her for her actions, some being very over the top, I also couldn’t help but to route for her. I give the author praise for writing a very unique and bingey storyline. I also thought the end reveal was a good one and am interested to see what McKinnon will do next as it was left open ended.

Wow! This book had me HOOKED from the beginning. I instantly fell in love with Frankie Morgan’s feisty attitude. Frankie says and does what we all WISH we could. However, she takes it one step further. Frankie has major anger issues, stemming from a rough past. Her tantrums kept coming and each one shocked me more than the first.

This book had many twists and turns I didn’t see coming! The ending had me left with my mouth hanging open wondering, “What did I just read?!” I would love to see a sequel to this!!

Frankie has had a hard life and she is angry. She takes it out on others with her severe anger issues. Her father has had enough, and asks her to attend anger management classes. She attends, but unwillingly. During her class the instructor asks them create a forgiveness list of everyone that has wronged them. Frankie makes a list in her notebook, but it goes missing and soon everyone on the list has accidents occurring and they keep getting worse. What is going on and who is hurting these people on her list?

THE REVENGE LIST was such an interesting story and so different than most books I've read. I understand why Frankie was so mad, but she was also so extreme about everything. I thought the reveal was pretty good and I can see the open ending leading us to another book possibly. This was an enjoyable read and I would read another book if the author makes this a series. 3.5 stars rounding up to 4 stars.

After landing in Anger Management Frankie pens her “forgiveness” list which she also realizes can be seen as her Revenge List; as everyone on the list had wronged her in some way. As the story goes on more mysterious accidents are happening to people on her list, but are they connected? And if so how? Buckle up for a wild ride because the ending is so unexpected.

I am a fan of HMM and was so excited to read another one of her books. It took a while for me to get into, but as soon as I did I couldn’t put it down. It was nice to read a thriller that made you feel like you were experiencing it all with the main character, down to every last emotion. I will say the main character Frankie makes some pretty big mistakes along the way, but she is still likable.

If you’re looking for a fast paced thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat, pick this one up!

I loved this book! It starts off with a car about to crash and she says this is how she is going to die but you don't know what led to this or who is driving the car so you are hooked instantly wanting to know what led to this moment. It is always great when a book starts off and gets your adrenaline pumping and you just don't want to do anything else but read this book.

Frankie has anger issues so her father send her to an anger group to work out her issues. Geraldine told everyone to write down a list of people to forgive. She catches Evan looking at her wallet and she is angry and leaves in a huff. Then her journal is missing and is convinced it is Evan and he is stalking her.

Then accidents start happening to the people who's names she wrote on the list. This part is creepy as you aren't sure who is doing it or why but it also so entertaining that you can't flip the pages fast enough.

This is one fast paced, action packed, twisty novel you don't want to miss. It also has heart as Frankie learns how to forgive her self and move forward.

I liked the overall idea of this book and at first it had my attention. However I found Frankie a frustrating character to read, I think that was partly intentional since she is in an anger management group but it was hard to stick with her. Where initially I was interested in where this book was going by the end I was disappointed in it's predictability and found the ending lacking.

The Revenge List is an OTT thriller about an angry woman who makes a revenge list--and the people named are targeted in attacks--eventually leading to murder.

When combative Frankie attends an anger management session, she creates a revenge list. Soon, people on the list are harmed, and she begins to suspect something or someone is sinister at play.

It is hard to watch Frankie make stupid choices--this is a character flaw and part of the explanation for why she is in anger management, but it was hard to read.

The plot was interesting at first--it was original and different, and I wasn’t quite sure how it was going to play out. I was engrossed in trying to figure out who was hurting the people on Frankie’s list. However, what had been interesting at a certain point turned stupid.

With a tease at the reveal, the plot begins to drag and turns from intriguing to crazy to predictable.

I was hoping this was going to be juicy and delicious like Mckinnon's last book Never Coming Home, but it was quite the opposite experience. It is good on a popcorn thriller entertainment level, but I had higher hopes. There are a lot of twists and turns--some are fun, and others are just ridiculous. Even more ridiculous was the ending and final chapter.

There are some fun parts to this book--including some nods to Lisa Unger. It is good on a popcorn entertainment level and very readable, but my expectations were too high.

Frankie is a woman in her 30's with an anger management problem. She is quick to react and when she almost loses a major account for her father's construction firm, he requests that she go to 6 weeks of anger management counseling. Her brother Rico and his husband are dealing with a medical emergency with their young daughter. Unexplained events start happening to Frankie and her family which cause her anger issues to flare up and her suspicions to grow while she may or may not be on the right track as far as who is causing all the damage. Hannah Mary McKinnon's books, including The Revenge List, are taut and fast-paced with believable characters.

I LOVED this book! i couldn't put it down. I swear i felt every single one of Frankie's emotions with her. At moments it was so chilling I was glad my husband was home with me. And the twist absolutely blew my mind, like my jaw actually dropped. I will definetly be suggesting this one to everyone in my book groups!

I found it hard to like the main character - Frankie. She was very aggressive and rude which made it difficult for me to keep reading the story, as I kept getting annoyed with Frankie and her anger management issues. However as the book progressed I began to understand where her anger issues stemmed from as I learned more about her past. This made it a bit easier to emphasize with her. Overall this was a slower paced story for me but still enjoyable.

This was an easy five star rating. Everything tied together quite nicely at the end and I was really, really unsure it would at one point. Love a good book that ends properly and also leaves room for more (or your imagination to fill in some blanks)!

Frankie unwillingly finds herself in anger management classes because....reasons. On the first day she is asked to write a list of those she feels have wronged her so that over the six weeks she can move through the process of forgiving them.

But the list goes missing and the people on it begin to get hurt...and worse. Now Frankie is in a race against time to figure out who's eliminating those on the list because, whoops. she added herself.

Unique, clever, often funny; I adored this one.

Frankie Morgan is in anger management classes and as the book progress, we find out why. This character has been through some shit. From feeling responsible for her mom's death when she was 14 to misogyny in the workplace, and a crazy amount of letdowns and bad decisions throughout her life, it’s no wonder she’s angry all the time.

She attends her first anger management session and is asked to write a forgiveness list. She writes it in anger - not so much a forgiveness list, but a list of people she is angry with for various, valid, reasons.

She loses that notebook and soon realizes that very bad things are happening to the people on that list.

She constantly debates going to the police but ultimately decides to try to find everyone on the list and warn them…because the violence is escalating.

The thing I enjoyed the most about this book was Frankie. Her rage was palpable and while she had moments of caring, her rage was consistent. I find the idea of someone being angry all the time fascinating - mostly because I can relate.

I also loved several deep-cut references to other thriller works and several books ended up on my TBR because of their feature in this book which was fun.

There’s a great action sequence near the end that is stressful and slightly terrifying which ramped up the climax anxiety.

I was able to predict the killer a little more than halfway through although the author does a good job of throwing in multiple red herrings and had me questioning my pick. It was satisfying to know I was right but the motivations were startling.

The revenge list is like a joy ride in a stolen car - exciting, dangerous, and a little crazy.

Ahhhhhh Frankie how i adore you. Getting to know frankie and figuring out why she is the way she was is so addictive she has had problems but who doesn't, i was suspecting everyone right along with frankie and in the end had no idea that the person that ended up with the list was who he was and holy shit that ending, will we get a sequel because i need to make sure frankie is ok

What a fun story! The Revenge List has an addictive story and a highly entertaining premise -- while in anger management, Frankie makes a list of individuals who have wronged her over the years. But when those individuals start encountering "accidents" Frankie begins questioning whether something else is going on.

Frankie's first response to various situations is usually explosive anger. While this might usually make for an unlikable character, Frankie is a lot of fun to follow along with. Her hot-headedness gets her into all sorts of scrapes and trouble, and the book is written with a good dose of humor despite the situations she finds herself in.

Over the course of the novel we slowly learn Frankie's personal history and the root of her anger, as well as the reasons she wrote each of the names on her list. While Frankie is quite slow a putting together the pieces of this particular puzzle -- and I found the twists fairly predictable overall -- this was the sort of entertaining read I've come to know and love from Hannah Mary McKinnon.

I mean really?? Who doesn't love Frankie! This book is absolutely brilliant and was a very fast paced book! It does make you think about writing down a list and someone getting ahold of it! I love this Author's books and this one does not disappoint at all!
