Thank you to both #NetGalley and Hachette Books for providing me an advance copy of Laura Belgray’s nonfiction work, Tough Titties On Living Your Best Life When You're the F-ing Worst, in exchange for an honest review.
Tough Tities is a collection of humorous personal essays about the author, ranging from childhood through to her current age. Although I didn’t identify with all her person struggles, her writing alone is worth the entertainment. If you enjoy reading works penned by David Sedaris and Jenny Lawson, then I highly recommend adding Laura Belgray to your list. Witty, self-deprecating, and unapologetic, there wasn’t a dull moment in this collection.
In case you misread the title, this book is not for the faint of heart. You will encounter taboo subjects, such as sexual misadventures, not wanting to have children, and breast reduction surgery. If you lack a sense of humor for any of these topics, you may want to ask your local librarian for directions to the “new age” stack. The book was not intended to help you on your “self-actualization” journey, but may end up doing so anyway for some readers. You will know instantly whether this book is the one for you after reading the author’s helpful introduction tips.
Funny, timely and relatable. A recommended purchase for nonfiction collections where similar titles are popular.
Laura Belgray is someone I had never heard of prior to reading Tough Titties, but I now follow her on Twitter and Instagram for more of her hilarious commentary on life. She is incredibly relatable and had me nodding along as I read and laughing out loud. It feels good to not feel so alone. Filled with plenty of insights on life and lessons she's learned along the way, Belgray is an author not to be missed! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a laugh-out-loud essay collection. This is the one for you!
Funny, off-color, inspirational - who knew a book could be all these things? Laura Belgray walks people through her unorthodox path to success.
Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!
This was my first read of Belgray's and loved her writing style. Her stories were so funny and she has experienced so much both good and bad. Love that she embarrasses the humiliating situations and still tries to find the best. After reading this, I want to go back and read more of her work.
Great life lessons in here, very funny writing. A very enjoyable read. I would read more from this author again.

I really enjoyed Belgray’s humor, writing and
telling of her memories. It was a fun read.
Also, love the cover and title.
I couldn’t resist reading this. The cover alone had me sold. I found myself chuckling at Laura Belgray’s life stories and being similar in age I found them humorously relatable. We have had some very similar experiences, right down for the love of Ben & Jerry’s Health Bar Crunch, liking those bad boys (life would have been so much easier), feeling that mythical spark, even telling people they are lucky for sleeping all night without peeing.
This book is more of a memoir with life experience wisdom sprinkled throughout. This book is what life is all about, gaining experiences and learning from them. Learning your worthiness.
I never choose these books. I am a straight mystery/thriller fiction book reader. But for some reason I thought this sounds like a fun variation from what I am use to and I really enjoyed it!
Great book giving life lessons that actually helps. The stories were enjoyable. I found myself laughing out loud at certain points.
Everyone is bad person! At one time or another, and this book is a fantastic collection on how to not be a terrible person all the time. Reading through it, I found advice that I did not know I needed.
