Lulu the beaver has a BIG secret. She's exceptionally creative, unlike the other beavers. What will happen if they discover how different she is? Bright colors and whimsical illustrations make this book a perfect choice.

This book is about a beaver who has talents that most beavers don’t have. She is an artist but hides it from the others, because she wants to fit in. Eventually, she meets other animals who inspire her to make art and show everyone what she can do. She realizes that continuing to create doesn’t make her any less of a beaver. I love the illustrations in this book and thought the message was very empowering. I think children will have an easy time connecting with this book!

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
Lulu has dreams of being more than a beaver, doing beaver things. She wants to be an artist and create beautiful art. She tries everything she can to stop her daydreams and creating art, but there is always the call. One day she meets a chicken that flies and shows her that she can follow her dreams.
This is a good book for showing children that it is ok to follow their dreams and passions.

A funny story about a beaver who wants to be an artist. But Lulu was feeling that a beaver should not be an artist. I love stories with message such as this, it reminds you about what is important in life. A good book, full of colors and fun!

This is the story of a beaver named Lulu. She is young and naive. She doubts her very existence of being a good beaver like her whole community but she always wanted to be an artist. And she's good at it. Starting with grooving an air baloon in tree which later she destroyed by chomping more of it she met with diff. Animals and birds and fishes each one fo whom inspired her to be what she really wanted. They all motivated her for being an artist didn't made her less of a beaver.

Finally she made an art on canvas and proved that she is what she wanted to be even after being a good beaver.

This was adorable! It is nice to see a picture book that nails the point of being your own person home. Plus, the focus on art made me happy. Definitely purchasing.

I thought Lulu the Beaver is a brave little beaver, she teaches kids that although you may doubtful thoughts it does mean you must listen to then . It's a lovely book they teaches kids about self doubt and pushing oneself through it. accompanied by pretty pictures

I liked the idea but didn’t understand why it’s a beaver. It’s deep for children and I felt like it missed the mark on what messaging it was trying to have.

The idea of the story was wonderful. It just didn't give enough info in the story. The illustrations were awesome and that's what kept me going. Although I loved the story idea I felt it was lacking depth and more of a story.

This is a fun book about being yourself. Lu is a beaver. They’ve grown up in a family where beavers do what beavers do. They gather sticks, they cut wood, they build dams. But secretly Lu wants to be an artist. They want to write stories and paint paintings and build things but they’re a beaver and beavers don’t do that. Their friends work hard to convince Lu that they can be anything. At first the story seems a little bit long, but there are rhyming fun patterns that kids will enjoy plus the illustrations are amazing. I love the type of art that is done because it feels both vibrant and soft but also with edge. Those sound contradictory, but they really do work in this book, and I think anybody reading it will enjoy it.

The illustrations are beautiful and so colourful, great for children.

I liked that the moral of the story was to follow your dreams, that you could do whatever you set your mind to and not to listen to the norm.

Beaver wants to be an artist but, doesn't think she can. When faced with the opportunity of no distractions and no judgment, she creates a masterpiece, just by being her self. This was a little wordy for preschool but would be great for elementary in an art setting or to promote positive self-image.

Lulu the beaver is a great book for kids. My daughter enjoyed me reading it to her, and I actually enjoyed it as well.

This is a delightful and encouraging story to follow your dreams and talents, even if they make you different from others. Lulu is a wonderfully talented artist. However, the voice in her head tells her to ignore her gift and just do the tasks other beavers do. But, as Pickle the chicken shows her, you should soar with the things you enjoy because they are the things that make you you. Soon, other beavers showed their special talents too.

My grandson (5) and I loved this story. It was realistic and recognized that little voice that we all have to answer in our heads. It gave permission to be you, instead of following the crowd. Once Lulu was brave enough to show her talents, other beavers were willing to put forth their talents, as well. The illustrations were just as lovely as the book. Everything about this book is excellent. It has become one of my favorite children’s book. It gives a necessary lesson to children in such an astounding way. 5+ stars.

I received an electronic copy from Bunny Books LLC through NetGalley.
An encouraging story for young readers, and perhaps, not so young readers, to be who they want to be not who they think they are supposed to be. The illustrations support the ideas to further reassure readers that they can be and do what they feel called to. I appreciate the pattern of adding more color as the story proceeds. Terrific book for young families and soon to be graduates.

This story has a really good message that every kid needs to hear. When I asked my son, what he liked about the book, he said he loved the illustrations (I agree, they're bold and visually striking.) and when I asked what he didn't like, he said that Lulu gave up too easily on her dreams, which I felt confirmed that the overall message was clear and easy to understand. I did feel that the writing was sort of stiff and didn't flow as easily, sometimes jumping between scenes and characters without guiding the reader on their adventure.

The illustrations are bright and inviting and I really enjoyed the storyline! I look forward to reading more of Gano in the future.

Lulu the beaver has dreams to be an artist but poor Lulu thinks she can't be an artist and a beaver so she pushes down her dreams and she tries to be a good beaver even though it doesn't make her happy. We follow along as her art pops out without her trying and as she learns that she shouldn't be pushing her dreams down and that she can be both an artist and a beaver. Overall its just a cute story with a good lesson for kids and my 1 year old loved the sound words throughout the book.

My three year old and I read a copy of this book through NetGalley. She really enjoyed the illustrations. Throughout the book, she kept cooing “Oh that little beaver is so cute!” The colorful palate was also a hit. My daughter enjoyed the rainbow colors and the montage flight toward the end of the book. The pages with the Aurora Borealis were particularly beautiful.

The story follows Lulu, a beaver who would really love to be an artist. Subconsciously, she even begins sculpting as she gnaws on trees at night. Lulu keeps telling herself that she should give up her dreams because she is a beaver. But with support from her friends, she learns to conquer her self-doubt. This is a great story to read with children who are struggling with doubt or anxiety. My kids both went through a phase where they told themselves that any new activity was something they just couldn’t do because they wouldn’t be good at it. I think LuLu the Beaver would help children through any similar worries.
