My favorite part of this book was the message. It is about being yourself and following your dreams. A great message for all kids. There were parts of the book that did seem a bit random or didn't seem to fit. For example at one point there's dialog and then a few pages later there are speech bubbles when the characters are talking and then a random chicken shows up.

The overall message is one kids can relate to and the colors used in the illustration are appealing but parts seem to be missing to connect the other animals to the story.

This is an adorable children’s book with a positive message that is done so sweetly. The illustrations are beautiful and the words just flow together to create the most perfect story about being who you want to be and to embrace their talents instead of shying away from them afraid of what others will think. We all have gifts and they deserve to be shared with the world.

I loved the writing style the author used in writing this book. It was a beautiful portrayal of Lulu finding her joy and breaking through the pressures of what she should be.

Lulu the Beaver had me tearing up! What a sweet, inspiring, beautiful story! I loved every single bit of Lulu, from her big dreams to her friends and from her courage to her doubts. I honestly believe that this could be one of the best picture books of 2022! I can't wait to read it to the kids during library story time!

I really liked this front cover and was hoping to see the same kind of illustrations in the story but I didn't feel the same vibe from most of the other illustrations. I liked the main character and her dream/ secret of being an artist. But as a whole I was a bit confused. I think that if a picture book is going to be filled with colorful pictures it is important to be aware that in some cases it is going to look a bit messy and hard to grasp. Especially when the whole pages are in strong colors.

Lulu is an adorable shy little beaver who feels she doesn't fit in with the others. She tries hard to do all the things that the other beavers do but to no avail.

She is artistic, imaginative, and creative and every single day these virtues bubble up and perk inside of her. Being bashful she hides her longings and talent from her peers thinking they will not accept her because she is different from them.

Lulu loves the forest and its amazing sounds. At night when she is lulled to sleep she doesn't dream of logs or building a dam. She wants in her heart-of-hearts to be an artist. She dreams in colour and makes beautiful carvings in the tree stumps. But... then she destroys her artwork lest she be discovered. Will Lulu overcome her fear and self-doubt and bravely step out and do the thing she loves most?

This story is about following your heart and being who you are created to be. I love a book that celebrates ..... YOU! The illustrations are colourful and enrich the text. This is Bethany Gano's debut book and I highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed the illustrations and play with text. One typo found (fist vs. fish). The use of color was great and the speech bubbles to show dialogue were nice.

This was so cute! The cover is adorable, but the pictures inside are SO COOL! Kids are going to be so easily engaged in this story and the lesson to be yourself and never give up!

A great addition to any child's bookshelf!

A vibrant and beautifully illustrated book with a powerful message. The story itself did not keep me engaged and lost me along the way, though I appreciate its empowering themes. A bit of a messy read overall in terms of both the prose and visuals, but kids might be able to connect with it more.

Lulu the Beaver is an adorable, incredibly well illustrated book with a great message at the heart of it.

I sat down with my six-year-old and we read this book together. It was simple and straight forward and he was able to read it aloud and understand it himself. The story was evenly paced with short paragraphs on each page. We were in awe of the gorgeous illustrations that clearly depicted the events of the story, particularly once Lulu starts to fly through the night sky on a journey to turn the shoulds into the coulds.

A perfect book for grade school children that teaches them a great lesson about embracing their uniqueness and differences. I highly recommend this beautiful book.

Thank you to Bunny Books and NetGalley for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A cute illustrated book for young readers about getting comfortable with the idea of having different goals or interests from those around you. This is a valuable discussion point as kids are growing up, but in this book the storytelling felt a little too on-the-nose and made the message feel a bit clunky.

This book is the story of an adorable beaver named Lulu who likes being a beaver but also dreams of being an artist. She's worried that people will judge her, that she should forget about her dreams, and that being a beaver means she can't also be an artist. Her close friends support her and encourage her to shoot for the stars and follow her heart. It's a wonderful way to show children that no matter what you are or what people think you should be, you have to be true to yourself. This would make a great addition to a social skills library or a classroom library!

I love childrens book because they always aim to send a positive message in the most simple yet creative ways, something you don't usually find in adults books. This one talks about Lulu a beaver who, unlike other beavers, doesn't like chomping trees or building lodges. Lulu wants to be an artist but she thinks that the "typical beaver" doesn't have to do anything besides building in streams so she hides her talents. But at the end, and with the help of her friends she was able to find her true voice, what she truly wants to do in life and not what others think she has to do. And this is how you teach kids that they should embrace their talents instead of hiding them to "fit" in society and to live to other people's expectations. Love it!

What a cute and interesting book ! I absolutely loved to read this book and I think it can teach a great lesson to children. This book especially felt close to me as it is talking about creativity. I found it clear, easy to read to children and with really nice drawing. I think this book will be great for children as you can easily start a conversation about the book and the morale of the story is easy to understand and explain. I will definitely buy this book in a near future !

A very cute story about a beaver who makes art from the wood the beavers gather. I like the message behind this story- do what makes you happy! Bright colors make the pictures appealing which I think young readers will enjoy.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was very very cute, we follow a beaver named Lulu that enjoys making art from the wood that they gather. From a balloon in a treetrunk to a seawave out if splinters. The stiry us cutely constructed like any children's comic would be and has a nice wound up ending that leaves everyone happy. She finds her inner self in this comic and managed to express herself the way she wants to express.

Bless this little book.

Lulu is a beaver that believes that she should only do things that are expected of beavers. Like chewing wood and building dams. But when she day dreams her life becomes more colorful, she becomes an artist and makes beautiful carvings in wood, but quickly destroys her work as that's not what she should do.

This is a story of breaking the mould and learning that it's ok. Finding one's self and doing what makes you happy brings color to the world.

I thought this story was very sweet. For the first half I was on the fence about the illustrations. They were a bit off and the characters illustrations were not my favorite. However when lulu decided to fly and how the world came to life in color and details was just incredible. It was a beautiful portrayal of lulu finding her joy and breaking thru the pressures of what SHOULD be and considered what she COULD be.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bunny Books for this advanced reader copy. My review is voluntarily my own.

I loved this sweet story! It’s about a shy beaver who just wants to be an artist. I adored it. And the art was gorgeous. So sweet and my 4 year old son loved it too!

Oh poor Lulu is self conscious of her beautiful ability to create art.
I wasn't a huge fan of the artwork on every page (ie: when she chomps her hot air balloon) but overall, its very cute. I wouldn't recommend this book for early readers. Probably 5-8 age group. The book is kinda busy with lots of depictions on each page.
The story of following your dreams and passions is always a great lesson for kids.
