A fun look at a Christmas tradition for elves, Holly and Noel teach us the ropes. For the month of December the elves are to teach topics like joy, laughter, empathy (do something for someone else). It doesn’t have to cost anything to give of yourself. Elves are to light upon a family and bring all members into participating. They are to make sure they have enough power left in their packs to make it back. The elves leave a nightly note to be found by family members first thing in the morning. The book was so good I think it could become a new classic that you will want to read year after year. Yes I will be recommending two jazz hands showing ten fingers.

Me and my daughter loved this. The pictures are beautiful, and the story is well written. We loved how the elves shared their traditions with us and were inspired to leave our own messages and explore the accompanying website

Thank you NetGalley and eWonderment, LLC for a copy of "Festival of the Elves: The Magic Around You" in exchange for my honest review.

The book starts with a cute map to show kids where the North Pole is. The drawings are colourful and the characters are adorable.

Holly and her brother Noel are elves. Their grandpa Norris Figgyworth started the Festival of the Elves. The theme of the book is "Magic around you is the magic you make. It happens when you give more than you take." Holly and Noel decide that they want to share the magic with humans. They feel that when you do something special for someone else, your own magic grows.

The book has different activities for each day which can be adapted to suit each reader's family. There are fun things like "hide & seek, silly day, treat day, art day, riddle day, song & dance day". There is a website that parents, caregivers, or teachers can go on for Elf Notes (like they made in the story), recipes, facts, colouring pages and activity books.

“The magic around you is the magic you make” -Grandpa Figgyworth

This delightful children’s holiday book tells the story of the Festival of the Elves, a wonderful tradition of making holiday magic for others to enjoy. The illustrations for this book are beautiful but the true beauty is the message of sharing your magic, whatever it may be, with others to bring them a little happiness.

This would make a delightful addition to any holiday book collection.

Thank you to NetGalley and eWonderment Publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

Elliott’s FESTIVAL OF THE ELVES- THE MAGIC AROUND YOU is a super cute book for both children and adults alike. “The magic around you is the magic you make,” is a beautiful concept, and the book really drives home the message that sharing wonderful things with others always returns to us.

One of the things that I love about this book is the fact that the author created an accompanying website for kids to interact with that includes elf notes, recipes, and even a coloring book. By leaving the address at the end of the book, kids can easily find the site on the internet.

The illustrations by Mai S. Kemble were superb and filled the pages edge-to-edge with beautiful color, bringing the author’s words to life. This is a perfect seasonal book, and although it’s too big for a stocking suffer, it would definitely take pride of place underneath a Christmas tree.

This is the type of story I would've loved as a little girl. It has magic, pretty illustrations and a nice little poem. The art is stunning. The story reminds of Elf on the Shelf, but with better lore. I loved the idea of the elves being stuck without magic, and the message that we make our own magic.

While this story and writing are strong, I was most enamored with the art. I loved it, and how diverse the cast of elves was. I loved the intricate designs on the outfits, and I loved the way the North Pole was designed. Also, its a win when a book has a map in the front, and this has a really, really lovely one.

This is mainly for younger kids, but its the type of story older kids might enjoy. I can see it being read every year. and think it would make a great movie. Definitely recommend it for elementary libraries.

I didn't grow up with "Elf on a Shelf" so it's a very new game for me and has been quite a learning experience to learn how to play my role with students in my life. Festival of the Elves brings a new and creative take on the elf on a shelf game with a full month of interesting family-centered games and activities. It's a creative idea for guardians and parents and even teachers and covers important topics like thankfulness, joy, and fun! I also thought it was wonderful that there was diversity in the elves not only in physical ability but in race and gender as well.

This is a happy book about the spirit of the holiday season, that both children and adults will enjoy. Narrated after a fashion by boy and girl elves, nicely illustrated and seasonal, this book should appeal to a wide-ranging audience.

A big thank-you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for giving me a copy of this book for an unbiased review.

4.5/5 - Really liked it!

This was such a sweet and beautifully illustrated story. As a child, I absolutely loved any books that began with an illustration of a map - so I was thrilled to see that this one had a beautiful wintry map of the North Pole! The story follows the adventures of Holly and Noel, two Christmas elves who want to bring elf magic to human families. The narrative is sweet and focused on the Christmas joy that comes from showing your loved ones that you care about them. It's a wonderful lesson, but what really sold the book for me where the delightful illustrations of the elf town and its adorable denizens.

This is a fantastic book for families to read together to get into the holiday spirit!

Perfect for a child to read again and again by themselves, or with their adult. A beautiful illustrated story book of the Festival of the Elves being shared with one family. The narrative and artwork are sublime. There is also an audio version of the narrative which is fun too and would be the perfect twin to the book to listen to as you look at the pictures. Thank you to eWonderment and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

A gorgeous illustrated story of two elves who make a family's December even more magical with tips for each day. These will create or not enough magic to send the two elves hone. The pages are so beautiful and I love the idea that we can make something of each day with our own families to be a season more magical. A great gift.

A cute, book for children to kick off the "Elf on the Shelf" season. Lyrical prose and fanciful drawings make the story come to life. If you're looking for another new story for the holiday season, this story has plenty of reread value. Online resource helps keep the magic going long after you finish reading.
