This audiobook is a firm favourite with my almost seven-year-old. A sweet little festive story that will be enjoyed for many years to come!

This cute little Christmas read is one that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Filled with beautiful illustrations and a message carrying the Christmas spirit into your heart. It’s about creating magic while not forgetting what Christmas is all about – giving is more than receiving. Such a warm read filled with enough happiness to make your heart grow a little.

I had this book in audio form and the sound effects were just a surprise bonus!

An audiobook that I thoroughly enjoyed, however, I feel a picture-book would become a family treasure. Families could adopt some of the traditions or all. The one I found most rewarding was to write a devotional for giving thanks for all that we have, which gets lost in the frenzy of asking for more. They also wrote notes to family members. Just a means to look at what is important to your own family. Yes I believe this could become a classic and would unconditionally recommend to all families.thanks to the following for allowing me to review early:

This is a lovely feel good story perfect for a winter evening in the run up to Christmas. The audiobook was great but I feel like it would be even nicer to have the picture book alongside the audio. Definitely a book I would enjoy reading to children.

Absolutely sweet and charming but I can only imagine the picture book would immensely add to the experience.

Festival of Elves is a great Christmas story that introduces many different ways in which to celebrate the holiday. Each day is celebrated by doing something different with your family or passing nice notes on to others. I particularly liked "gratitude day" as it reminds us to stop and be grateful for what we have and to be thankful for those things, especially during a holiday where children are often asking for more gifts or making wish lists for Santa. It's important to take a step back and realize that "getting" is not always what the holiday is about.

For me, although the message of the book was wonderful, the story was a little slow. In addition, while I like the new tradition of notes every night from elves, during the busy season of Christmas there are already so many traditions that we have - it would be hard for our family to adopt this one in as well. I wish we had found this prior to starting other similar traditions in our household - and I hope that other families find this early on in their children's lives. I do think we will incorporate some of the ideas into our regular elf traditions - especially "gratitude day."

We listend to this book and then read it as well. The audio was great, moved along well. The narrator was terrific at fluctuating her voice and incorporating emotion.

The illustrations were good. Not overly detailed = but simple is good. The sketches were perfect for the story line. It was an easy read in under 10 minutes. The description does state that it is part of a trilogy - but it read well on it's own and didn't give the illusion that there was more to come, so I'll be anxious to see what comes out next!

The Festival of the Elves - The Magic Around You. Written by Holly Figgyworth (Pen name for Angeli Elliott) Illustrated by Mai S. Kemble

What a lovely story book for children age 3+ !

In the spirit of an Advent calendar, this Christmas time story is the tale of a brother and sister elves that want to share their grandfather’s tradition of The Festival of The Elves with humans.

In the book, the illustrations are wonderful and the audiobook’s narrator has such a perfect voice. It captivates the attention of all listeners. It’s only a 10 minute story so it’s perfect for a young audience.

I truly enjoyed looking at the book listening to the audiobook. It should become a classic Christmas story !

4 out of 5

Fun little quick Christmas story for the family. These sort of audiobooks remind me of those apps a decade or two ago where audiobooks had apps that sort of had a little play or something similar to make them visual novels. I loved these as a kid and it might've just been something only my school teachers at the time knew about but because of that, this story brought me so much nostalgia. I also think the narrator did a great job, had a clear voice, and was so fun.

Disclaimer: I received an arc audio copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fun audiobook - and I bet I it would be even better to listen to with the physical book for the illustrations. The narrator did an excellent job of reading in a “younger” voice with a lot of expression, which would keep littler kids engaged. The book has a nice message of generosity and kindness during the Christmas season. Rather than an elf that is focused on the child’s misbehavior, these eleves focus on what children and families can do for others. I think it could be a great holiday tradition to have one’s own “Festival of the Elves” each December. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

It's such a cute book for kids. It's a short book. I'd recommend reading on the last day in November. It's basically a start to elf on the shelf. Very cute.

Omg this was so cute!!!

Lauren Lafayette Brooks, the narrator, has an extremely good voice, very clear! Her tone really suits the story, and brought me joy just by listening to it!

The story is about elf siblings Noel and Holly Figgyworth plunged into the human world on a twinkly, swirly, snowy night, on a mission to bring a North Pole tradition to the Puddington family.

Something noteworthy about the story is that it celebrates the Winter holidays without being religious, so it would suit Christian and non Christian readers/listeners!

Listened to this audiobook and thought it was the cutest holiday story. The audio effects and narrator keep the story interesting and easy to track.
The story follows two elves and their journey to share their holiday traditions with the human world. Giving back, creating magic and adventure. It doesn’t focus on Christmas specifically and spreads a great message.

Thanks NetGalley and Publisher for this arc. This doesn't affect my review.

The concept is lovely and I think it is a very good book for children and the adults who would read it to them. The idea of the festival is so warming. The idea by the other characters is more so and it makes my heart warm with happiness and it seems nice.

The voice is full of the warmth with which the book is written and the magical trinkets sound is awesome! I loved the narration :)

Quick, short book about Holly and Noel who are elves and love the tradition started by their Grandfather to bring magic and love to the family. They decide they want to share their tradition with people and are given special permission to try with one family. They choose the right family, but when they arrive they realize all their magic to get home is gone. While bringing the magic to the family and that family of people decide to share the magic of the season with others, their magic is refilled and they are able to return home knowing the magic will be shared with those who are not elves.

The accompanying music made the audio more fun as well!

It is a really cute children's book filled with love and magic. I was given the opportunity to read, (listen to the audiobook), by NetGalley in exchange with an honest review.

This is a sweet picture book about a fun Christmas tradition. I love how the elves created magic and memories through little notes and moments. Showing how magic doesn’t have to be extravagant. The audio was great! This makes Elf on the Shelf much less creepy!

my fault for walking into a kids book thinking it was YA?? Anyway, I listened to the audiobook edition but I can’t find it on goodreads so anyway.

It was sweet, but quick. Like really quick. 11 minutes quick 😭
