I like Tessa Bailey as a person and as an author. I wish more time was taken with this story and it had more depth and thought

I enjoyed this book more than I expected. I have a few friends who are huge fans of this author which encouraged me to give her a try. The book was very enjoyable. Because I’ve never read from this author before I was not sure what to expect but I had a great time. The main characters really pulled me in and there was not one thing that made me upset

This one was a tough one to review. At times I liked it and other times not so much. It’s a 3.75 for me. I liked it better than book 1 (which I rated a 3) but it didn’t quite make 4 star status for a few reason.

I wasn’t 100% a fan of August. He was a bit too demanding/controlling and over the top dramatic for me. A bit too caveman for my taste. I was expecting him to knock Natalie over the head with a club and drag her away 😂 and at other times I felt like if she said “BOO”, he would start crying. I understand he had PTSD, but it was too dramatic of a swing back and forth. The description of the emotions he was feeling over certain events were bizarre at times and over feeling and over detailed. I felt like screaming, “Put your big boy pants on” at August, lol.

I did love the actually story line and how we skipped an unnecessary third act break up scene, but the repetitive nickname PRINCESS got to me after about the 100th time. I thought we got past the repetitive nicknames in TB books and I just couldn’t give this a 4 stars for that alone.

Even though this one wasn’t 100% my favorite TB book, I have enjoyed several other of her books which I rated better and will always continue to read all she brings to the table.

Who doesn't love Tessa Bailey - honestly it doesn't even matter what the book is, if it has her name. on it, readers will buy it! including me.

This book was cute and simple. It was kinda surface level but that didn't bother me. I liked how easy to read the story was. Our characters were cute enough although it did take awhile to really believe their romance. overall it was a cute story and an easy read.

I enjoy Tessa Bailey's reads and if you are a fan, you'll like this one too - especially if you are into wine and wineries! A cute story that centers around that world.

I was definitely curious about Natalie and August after the glimpse we got of them in "Secretly Yours". Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes, but I didn't love this story. It felt like they spent so much of the story at odds, and not in an enjoyable way like can sometimes be the case. So much so, that I didn't really care about them as individuals and didn't necessarily buy their love story.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Tessa Bailey has written another great book. Her characters always feel real and always have the best banter. I am always happy when reading one of books and this one is no different.

Natalie and August feel sparks fly the first time they meet. She and he are both interested in getting to know each other in the biblical sense. Things go off the rails pretty quickly and they both spend the rest of their times trading insults with each other. August is a former SEAL who is honoring the dream of his friend by trying to open a winery. He is not very successful at it and is losing hope of being able to realize this dream. Natalie is trying to regain her former career in the financial district on Wall Street. She is home licking her wounds after a disastrous trade sends her into exile. She lost her job, her fiance' and her self-confidence. I will say that she and August are like oil and water at points. She blames him for all of their interactions going wrong, but she was just as culpable. I did like their story and was quite entertained. I didn't feel like I was going to be able to embrace Natalie in this book, but I found myself understanding where she was coming from. Everyone in her life seemed to still be holding her teenage years against her. It was time for all of them to move on. I was glad I read this book. I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

Sigh... I have tried numerous times to give Tessa Bailey a shot and I just cannot get into her books. I find her characters to be whiny and usually immature. This author just isn't for me, but I know a lot of readers enjoy her writing! I'm also a more closed-door romance reader and her books DEF don't fall under that category. Tons and tons of spice!

I loved this so much! Secretly Yours was so amazing and I could not wait to read this one! They were absolutely adorable and the tropes were 11/10! Love this small town setting so much!

I love Tessa Bailey!
One of my absolute favorites this book was amazing. I enjoyed the characters, the storyline, the setting. I felt like they had real issues and dynamics that affects couples in "real life." Loved it!

Definitely not my favorite Tessa Bailey. I couldn't root for the main characters in this one, and August was just... very dysfunctional, and never really moved beyond that.

I'm catching up on reviews and once again, I'm struggling to connect with a Tessa Bailey novel! I continue to read her books in hopes of falling back in love with her books, but I find myself struggling to stay engaged in the story and feel myself cringing at the awkward sex scenes.
The typical trope of a marriage of convenience that falls apart, Natalie loses her job and then her fiance and tries to pick up the pieces of her life. She is desperate to find connection and turns to August. This is also a sham of a relationship until they realize that they have a big connection.
This book was certainly better than Secretly Yours, but still didn't take the cake for me. I wanted more from August as a character (love the name!), but I do love how Natalie and August's love story turned out!

I have to admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of the first book, Secretly Yours, but I did love Natalie as a side character. I was excited to read her story and it met my expectations. I expected chemistry, banter, humor, and cheesy *p0rn quality* spice and it’s all there.

Natalie is stuck and her only way out is to receive her inheritance. August is financially struggling to get his winery going. Even though she doesn’t like August she comes up with a plan that can help them both. If they marry she can receive her inheritance and together they can help his winery become a success.

This marriage of convenience story between two people who don’t even tolerate each other was full of chemistry and banter. August and Natalie were so much fun with their black cat and golden retriever energy. The relationship between Natalie who denied her feelings and August who fell hard added tension and plenty of witty dialogue.
