I enjoyed No One Needs to Know by Lindsay Cameron. I am always excited to read books about rich people with problems. The three main characters all had such different personalities, and I found it interesting to read about their lives and drama. If you are a sucker for wealthy people problems definitely check this book out. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I’m sure that most women who live on the UES would be appalled at this generalization of them and their lives. It was certainly an introduction to the reader to the world of the rich and the power struggle to stay there.
The story centers around mothers with children in the same school all vying to get their offspring into the elite boarding school that will pole vault their child to the necessary college and thus maintain the family image.  They are presented as friends but in reality are in a constant competition that becomes exhausting. Their behavior was on par with teenage girl antics.
The intrigue starts when the ladies joined a website that allows anonymous posts that can never be traced. It gives them a free ticket to bare their soul, make nasty comments about others or even invent stories that result in ruining reputations.  This  “secure”  web site is hacked and all the anonymous posts have a name attached to them: finger pointing ensues and friendships become tenuous.
These ladies have always had the ability to make uncomfortable things go away quietly either with rewards or money to maintain their position in society. Even a murder can be squelched if you know how to go about it.

My first Lindsay Cameron read and it won’t be my last. A story filled with mystery, thrills and a great deal of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Picture it: an anonymous online forum where New York’s wealthiest residents cry out their deepest secrets. Also picture this forum being hacked and all those dirty little secrets emerging. On top of all of this information, a man disappears. A man who’s very dirty and likes to blackmail others… In the secrets are the the low lying truths that most don’t want to be vulnerable and share.

Not being familiar with an author doesn’t give you a good feeling going into a book BUT, that changed within the first few pages of this masterfully crafted story. It had ups, it had downs and it had loads of juicy secrets from rich and highly affluent New Yorkers. This was a really great read and I cannot wait to read Lindsay’s other books. Four stars and I definitely recommend it!

2.5 Stars. I was a fan of the author's previous novel but ultimately, this one didn't hold my interest as much as her first. Maybe I'm just burnt out on this particular subgenre but I trudged through this novel and couldn't really connect with the characters. Big fans of this trope will definitely enjoy!

This book was a slow burn and I almost gave up reading it a few times but I am glad I stuck it out. This was definitely a Gossip Girl vibe. It is best read by people who enjoy rich people drama (which I do when I am in the right mood) and has some thriller aspects to it.

I am a fan of Lindsay Cameron so I will definitely read more books from her in the future.

I loved Lindsay Cameron’s last book so I jumped at the opportunity to read NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW.

Social standing is everything if you want to get your children into Manhattan’s private schools. If you’re lacking status and wealth, you have to get creative. And those methods aren’t always acceptable. With a limited number of students accepted, even the wealthy need to be clever at times.

Urban Myth is touted as an anonymous social platform. Users don’t set up profiles and they can post their darkest secrets without any chance of being discovered. Many people in this community take advantage of this and post their juicy and scandalous secrets on the site! Then an activist group hacks into the site and exposes the identities….WOWSER!

This happens during the same time the LaCrosse coach goes missing. Amidst a scandal surrounding his marriage, an affair, and more.

The three main characters of the story—Heather, Poppy, and Norah—are all very different. They give diverse perspectives that kept me glued to the pages of this suspenseful thriller! I knew the racy secrets posted on Urban Myth would eventually be exposed. I was itching to see whose lives would explode and how severely!

Sincere thanks to Random House Publishing and Bantam for providing this complimentary ARC through NetGalley. As always, all opinions are my own and left voluntarily.

What a great premise with awesome follow through. I was entranced by the twisted families. The thriller aspect was the perfect cherry on the top to the drama, antics and pererseness of these Upper East Side women.

This was thoroughly addicting, clever, scandalous, and thrilling! If you live a gold neighborhood thriller, this is for you.

This book fell kind of flat for me, thrillers really need to catch me from the beginning and unfortunately this one did not. I would give Lindsay Cameron another go though, she definitely has the potential to give us more! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

No One Needs To Know by Lindsay Cameron

My rating:
3/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️

UrbanMyth, an anonymous site where many wealthy New York residents post is where someone can share their dark secrets and no one would know it was them…. That is until the site gets hacked.

This book definitely reminded me of Gossip Girl. Overall it was a good read, but wasn’t my favorite. I found myself only engaged in the conversations and there were many parts of the book that didn’t have much going on, I was trying not to skim. I did figure out the “twist” and maybe it was obvious to me because of a book I just had read previously before this, but I wasn’t shocked at the end.

This one is definitely filled with gossipy rich parents, but I actually think I would have enjoyed more about their kids? I did not find that any of the characters in this one were very likable.

This was a quick read with multiple POVS. I did enjoy the concept of the risks of being on social media / what you post can come back and bite you. The UrbanMyth threads were my favorite part of this book, as they were quite juicy!

Thanks netgalley for the ARC! This one is out now if you want to read it!

Gossip Girl meets Big Little Lies with a dash of the college admission scandal thrown in. Books that take place in the Upper East Side are always some of my faves.

This was a fun little read. It was a slow burn, but as everything unfolds it keeps you on the edge of your seat! It follows 3 different private school moms that are vastly different.

The drama, the drama, the drama!

Thanks to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for a review.

I really enjoyed this author's novel "Just One Look", so I was very excited to receive a copy of "No One Needs to Know". However, maybe I am just not a huge fan of petty rich wive drama, especially when it concerns protecting their children, but I found this just silly. Honestly, the teenagers seemed more mature and likable than their adult mothers who were anything but. Not my favorite from this author but I will also probably try to avoid this trope in the future.

I really like this one and will be recommending it to many! It was similar to Big Little Lies but with wealthy Manhattonites. This is told among three main characters in the same neighborhood each with children in the same school. Dark, twisty and scandalous!

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Several wealthy parents of 8th graders on the Upper East Side are in a frenzy trying to get their children into an exclusive boarding school. They anonymously post all of their secrets, musings and accusations on a website they believe is secure. But then they find out it is not and someone goes missing and this website appears to be a great tool to uncover who was involved in the disappearance.

Two of the three main women were really unlikeable and this started out with a lot of drama about one student posting a photo of another student with a vape pen, causing issues for that student and her parents. I wasn’t that engaged in that part because I don’t really care about kids and their goings-on but fortunately that was just setting the stage for the real drama. I wound up quite liking this book with its insufferable characters. It was a good quick read and I will read more from this author.

No one has privacy on the Internet.

This was a super slow burn for me , in the end I liked it . It took awhile to pick up but once it did I enjoyed it . LOTS of drama involving parents of course in New York & an online "private" chatroom of sorts where everyone talks trash & tried to keep up with one another. Has some definite big little lies vibes going on which yeah kept it interesting.
I'm gonna say my fave character was Norah .

Thank u #NetGalley for the Arc.
Although this book came out in May & I'm just finishing it now . Oops sorry ,🙊

This one was a bit too much slow burn for me. I don't actually think my rating was the book's fault, and more that it just wasn't my style of thriller.

Loved it. Hated the Heather character tho - especially when listening to the audiobook while falling asleep and “Heather” is said about 20 times.

Reading the book was a different experience vs the audiobook in that regard. Loved the format of this book and the nonstop action. Highly recommend

Thanks to NetGalley for the free advance ereader copy of No One Needs to Know in exchange for an honest review.

If you’re a fan of Big Little Lies (the show or the book), you’ll find a lot to like in No One Needs to Know. Set on New York City’s Upper East Side and featuring a cast revolving around three moms of 8th graders at an exclusive private school, the novel explores several themes including the lives and misdeeds of the ultra rich and entitled, the false security of “anonymous” internet sites (news flash: nothing online is anonymous) and how many of us will do truly anything for our children. This was an entertaining romp and while it won’t win any literary awards, I gobbled it up in two days. If you’re looking for a quick, fun vacation or weekend read that won’t tax your brain, throw this in your bag. Three stars.

Taut Psychological Thriller – An Enjoyable White-Knuckle Ride

I thoroughly enjoyed NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW by author Lindsay Cameron. A character study and more, this suspenseful novel is told from the standpoint of four women’s perspective. The chapters adhere to this throughout and are titled with the name of the character speaking. The divvying up of the story in this way allows the tale to flow seamlessly., and we gain a deep insight into all the players. It''s this intimacy that brings the story to life.

The plot was a good one loaded with twists and turns for the reader to trip over. A solid pace established, we are brought into a world of the rich, the fortunate, and the favored by God and wonder if an act of revenge could lead to murder.

The atmosphere is kept taut and the mood floated is one of what lengths the privileged will go to keep secrets … especially from their husbands. The ending is not the slam dunk I would have liked it to be, but it was a surprise and did not deter me from giving five stars for a superlative effort.
