Did I pick this book solely for the cover? Yes, Yes I did. And while I otherwise went in blind (I hadn't read any other story yet) I absolutely need to read the whole series now! And possibly everything Mary has ever written! So I guess sometimes you truly can judge a book by it's cover!

This is a good book. The two main characters are Laura and Steve. Laura works the Learning Center. Steve is an attorney. Laura has a couple who would like to have a fundraiser for the company that Laura works for. Laura’s boss want her to start the fundraiser. So she goes to meet with the couple and their attorney. There is an instant attraction. Steve helps Laura to find the venue for the fundraiser. They get fundraiser started with both working for the cause. They fall in love with each other in a matter of days.

A cute little story that I very much enjoyed!
The characters were wonderful and I loved the storyline. It had a little of everything in this story.
The setting was my favorite because it was a place that I hadn't " visited" yet. I didn't want to leave my new friends.
My favorite scene is where everyone comes together to help the fundraiser.
Sometimes it takes a whole town to help with things like this.
Yes, where thee ate ppl there will be misunderstandings and all but usually they can be worked out.
This was a nice story and didn't really see anything wrong with it
4 stars for some great entertainment.
There were some repetitive phrases but overall a cute book.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review

A small town romance story set around a Christmas fundraiser. Unfortunately this story didn’t work for me, too much lingering on miscommunications and it was so unrealistic trying to run two fundraisers in such a small town. It was nice to see how much effort the inhabitants of Waverley Lake went into helping keep the event going.

I received this book from Netgalley. This book is a quick and easy read. While it seemed centred around Christmas (based in the title) I didn't feel that they made much mention towards Christmas itself. They want to create a fundraiser in a couple of weeks in a small town where there is already a huge fundraiser going on. This doesn't seem to make sense. The timeline is far too short to organise something and how are people in a small town supposed to support both? Especially around Christmas. I understand that creating a fundraiser in such a short time is a normal thing to happen in such books but the other fundraiser at the same time? Plus, we don't even hear anything else about it after Laura and Steve go there. However, I do love books where the whole town comes together for the common good and create a feel good ending!

Christmas romance??? Yes...
Christmas Romance on an island???? Uh yes, please...

When this time of year arrives, I can't help but indulge in some Christmas story where love triumphs. A story that reflects the spirit of this wonderful holiday and highlights the true values.

The cover attracted me with its diversity. It somehow stands out in a sea of Christmassy covers.
The short content sounded quite interesting. Very familiar, and yet enough to keep my attention.

Laura and Steve, are two characters who meet by chance. She was wounded by life, with a bleeding heart. And he is the necessary balm to heal her wounds. Sweet story, right?

But somehow I didn't manage to experience this book in the way I wanted. The misunderstandings were just too much for me, and the plot was not intriguing enough. The dialogues were kind of flat to me anyway, and a little more layering of the characters would have been very nice.
Yes, the idea is quite interesting, but somehow the realization failed.

Laura comes to set up a fundraiser, and Steve is the town's lawyer who is trying to help make things run smooth. Enjoyed this one, and like the two together. A sweet Christmas story that helped put me in the holiday spirit. Would recommend.

Well, this little story held so much promise. And while I liked the character of Laura, her love interest, Steve, was just not that interesting. Her ex, Logan, was also pretty bland. Also, there's so much of the miscommunication trope overused in this book, the actual plot would have been simpler but more enjoyable without the constant misdirection.
