I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This story was a fairly predictable romance with some decent chemistry and not as much hockey as I would have liked.

I love the way Mira Lyn Kelly does hockey but this one didn't hit the mark for me. Not sure what it was about the dynamic here but everything felt so forced and nothing really kept my interest.

Savannah Peachwood was great as always. This was my first Wayne Mitchell book and I would like to hear more from him.

Stormy and Liam meet in Vegas after both experiencing some terrible relationships… and what better way to get over a bad relationship than to marry a stranger in Las Vegas?! When Liam wakes the next morning, Stormy is gone and all that’s left of their marriage is a quickly written prenup on a cocktail napkin. When they meet again a year later, can Stormy and Liam part ways without feelings or will they be draw together?

I loved Dirty Groom! Hockey romances are my favorite and Mira Lyn Kelly totally delivers! This book has so much spice, great side characters, and fun banter. I read Dirty Groom as a standalone and had no problem with understanding the story and dynamics of the characters. I did go back and read the rest of the series because I loved Mira Lyn Kelly’s hockey world so much!

I expected this to be spicier just based on the cover but I’m not complaining. There’s considerably more plot than I was prepared for and I’m here for it. I enjoy plot with my spice, and even with this being part of a series and I’ve jumped right in, I was able to keep up with the story and the characters with little to no extra effort on my part. The story had its moments where I was less than thrilled with the tropes we were experiencing but overall I don’t have too much to complain about.

It’s a solid sports romance that’s light on the sports (thank goodness) with just enough spice to keep it interesting.

This book definitely peaked my interest. Started a little bit slow but definitely picked up mid book. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends who like this genre. These characters will definitely stay with me for a while.

This is book 6 in the Slayers Hockey Series, a Sports Romance. Liam and Stormy's a push and pull relationship is funny, sweet, and heartwarming, filled with angst, miscommunication, and twists and turns. The are opposites attract. Liam is grumpy, and very handsome. Stormy is beautiful, sweet, feisty and sunshine. The storyline is fast-paced, and interesting. The supporting characters are great. Great narration from Savannah Peachwood and Wayne Mitchell. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more in the series. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, a Dreamscape Media Audio production, for an honest review.

This. was. so. much. FUN!

Dirty Groom is the SIXTH (6) book in the Slayers Hockey series by Mira Lyn Kelly. It can be read as a standalone but there are references to other couples from the previous books. I have not read any of the other books so this was my first book within the Slayers world. I did not have any problems following along with the story, but sometimes it was difficult to keep all the other players straight! There is a lot of weird names haha.

Liam Diesel is an NHL player who ends up in Las Vegas on Christmas. This is when he meets a stranger that will change his life. They get hitched, fake names, no phone numbers, no details, one night together and then she disappears. Until one year later, Christmas Eve, Liam spots her on the street and they must come up with a plan to undo their cocktail napkin vows and prenup, without everyone finding out and without falling in love.

Liam is the star of this book. He MAKES this book. And the narration!!! Wayne Mitchell is so good. I will have to note his female voice does bring you out of the story. Liam is grumpy and withdrawn but he cares so much. He’s been so hurt by the people who were supposed to be the closest to him. So he’s swore to never lie to a woman, so when he was supposed to lie to his cocktail napkin wife about himself, he couldn’t. He couldn’t lie to her. *swoon*

When the protagonist said her name, Stormy, all I could think was “Stormi baby” (iykyk) I couldn’t stop giggling! And the constant jokes about her having a strippers name, Stormy Diesel, iconic. I was rooting for Stormy to be able to stand up to the f*ckhead (iykyk) and stand up for herself. It felt lacking in that department and I wish she stood up and fought for her relationship with Liam more, especially after the third act breakup. Things were also quickly resolved and back to normal. It was almost a little to easy and I would have liked to have seen more of a conflict scene.

I will say this again, Liam made this book. He is the ideal book boyfriend, where can I find myself a Liam?! His character arc throughout the book is so well done and he is able to open up to Stormy so much. And the epilogue!!! It was perfect.

This book was short and I could have had more character development (especially from Stormy) but I am excited to read the rest of the series! (I would have also loved to have a scene with Liam punching f*ckhead but the scene we were given was EVERYTHING! I screamed in my car during that line 👀 around 46% in the audiobook) Mira’s writing is fantastic and the narration by Wayne Mitchell and Savannah Peachwood was great! I finished this audiobook in less than 24 hours.

If you like fake dating, marriage of convenience, grumpyxsunshine, great 🌶 and sports romance definitely give this a try!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced audio copy for an honest review. I love you guys 💕

First off can we talk about how hot this cover is? Definitely caught my eye with it. I wasn’t sure what my thoughts were going to be around a runaway bride and a fake marriage, but holy steaminess I was definitely bingeing this one. Thank you for my advance reader copy

I love this series! I always struggle a bit with modern-day marriage of convenience plots, but I felt this one was unique in how it played out and I enjoyed the grumpy/ sunshine trope. Also, hot hockey players. Liam and Stormy had terrible names, but I still adored them and were happy they got their HEA.
I listened to the audio book of this and was not the biggest fan of the male reader. It just seemed like he was trying a bit too hard to have a deep, gravelly voice, so it came off as unnatural and strange. That being said, I made it through the whole thing so it didn't detract from the enjoyment of the story. I can't wait for the next Slayers book!

Uhh this book was so surprisingly good!! I thought this would be a quick 3 star read but it turned out to be a really entertaining marriage of convenience!

If you like sexy athletes, marriage of convenience, a hero that would protect the heroine at all cost, and a down to earth heroine I highly recommend picking this one up!

A huge thank you so netgalley and the publisher for an eARC of this title in exchange for my honest thoughts.

The male narrator really ruins this with his female voices. As a male voice is hot but his female voices are ridiculous and sound even childish which makes it very awkward.
I also didn’t realize this was book 7 of a long series so maybe I missed a lot of context before starting it but it just felt very rushed, so I’m guessing if I had read the other books I would know this characters better and it would make sense so I don’t want to fault the author for this.
It was entertaining but it wasn’t anything special, and I can’t get over the male narrator.

I listened to the audio of this book and the narrators killed it! They brought every tension filled moment to life with perfection. I loved every minute of this shotgun turned fake wedding love story with a little hockey thrown in. I can't wait to read the rest in the series!!

Thank you to Mira Lyn Kelly, Netgalley and Dreamscape media for the advanced Listeners Copy of Dirty Groom. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love sports romance, and here recently i found a new love for hockey romance, specifically. Hockey is so rough and rugged and the men who play are just as hot and rugged. Mira Lyn Kelly is a new author for me, and I saw this one on netgalley and knew i needed to read it, or in this case listen to it. but then i realized that it was part of a series that could be read as standalone novels. So, now I have a new series to get involved with and I can't wait. Mira Lyn Kelly knows how to write a steamy novel. The spice was there from the start with this one. who doesn't love a good drunken night in Vegas trope where the guy falls head over heels in love with his fake wife?

I love it when sports romances have dual POV and his and hers narrators. It just adds to the spice and dynamic of the story. These narrators fit perfectly together. Now that I have read this one, i need the others in the Slayers Hockey Series, and I can't wait.

I almost didn't request this book due to the cover. I didn't think this would be a 'plot' driven book. but I'm so glad I did. It was so good. I loved this book. It was a lovely mix of romance and sex. It was absolutely perfect.

I really enjoyed Dirty Groom as a story, but I think I would've preferred to read it. The beginning is a bit chaotic to follow, but eventually once you have all the pieces the story flows smoothly. The narrators were great, other than when Liam spoke Stormy's lines - it was AWFUL! I am honestly surprised it passed quality control. Also, around 90% mark, the volume dropped down and took a while to come back. I hadn't realized this was part of a series, but I enjoyed this so I'll definitely go back to read the others!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this ALC!

I love a hockey romance! I appreciated that Liam became more part of the team as he and Stormy got to know each other, and the denial of feelings for so long as they lived together to keep up appearances - forced proximity is a fave too!

What I didn’t love was the male narrator speaking Stormy’s parts - it was pretty cringe, and while I enjoyed his voice otherwise, it kinda took me out of the story multiple times.

I enjoyed the story, and but I might recommend it in print rather than audio!

3.5 stars

A year ago, Liam and Stormy got hitched in Vegas. Now their paths cross again and their fake marriage is about to get real this time.

The Slayers Hockey series is a comfort read for me. I love this fictional world of hockey and I love all of the characters. That being said, the beginning of Dirty Groom is waaaay too disjointed and chaotic. It felt like I had missed a big portion of the story. But the plot gets more coherent once you get past the chaotic beginning.

Though Dirty Groom is not my favourite in this series, I still had a lot of fun reading it. I really liked Liam and Stormy, even though their divorce dirty talk was weird as hell and took me out of the story.

As for the narration, it was fine. I wish they had kept Christian Fox as the male narrator 😭

This was a wonderfully believable fake Vegas marriage story with characters that are easy to connect to. The intimate scenes were delightful, with just the right amount of steam. Highly enjoyable, and easy to pick up even if you haven't read the rest of the series.

Narrators were excellent at getting the feel of the story and conveying the emotions of the characters.
