Samantha Chase is one of my favorite authors. Tempt Me did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed this book! Its a must read or listen to for me!

The story was nice. If you will have no other book you may even finish it. For me it was not enough passion. Both characters were pretty plain.

No, no, no. This wasn't for me. The lead male character was a perpetual grump. Nothing could have saved this book for me.

Tempt Me, is the 2nd book in the Donavans Series, but can totally be read as a standalone. This story is told from a dual 3rd person POV, and it has all the tropes. So if you love a good smalltown, grumpy/sunshine, ex-military, opposites attract, girl next door this is the story for you.
We meet Liam (grumpy) and Tessa (sunshine) the neighbors who can’t get along until the do. This enemies/ to lovers shows them facing insecurities due to previous life situations. Liam tells it like it is and Tessa is a happy optimist. But, surprisingly enough they read and understand each other so well. They have more in common then they know. I loved seeing them trying finding themselves, letting their walls down, and falling in love. Like they say opposites attract. As always Chase does and excellent job in showcasing the family dynamic. They are loud, obnoxious at times, but full of love. Can’t wait to read the next book!

Another fantastic gem by Samantha Chase! I read every book she releases! She’s one of my favorites and a go-to! Loved this one! But I knew I would :)

This is the second book in the Donovan Series, a small town romance. Liam and Tessa's story is sweet, emotional, steamy, and engaging. I liked the humor in the story. This is a great Grumpy/Sunshine Romance. Carly Robins did a great job bringing this story to life. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, a Dreamscape Media Audio production, for an honest review.

TEMPT ME, by Samantha Chase, is a grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, hurt/comfort small-town romance. It is book two in The Donavans series.

Tessa is a ray of sunshine. She's always cheerful, loves baking, and celebrates holidays with large displays on her front lawn.

Liam is her new neighbor. He's a grumpy veteran who wants to be left alone. He can't imagine why anyone would want to place gawdy eyesores all over their lawn.

Sparks fly when Tessa and Liam meet, if only they were the sparks of a romance. Rather, Liam and Tessa don't get along. What begins as a rivalry turns into friendship and understanding as both harbor some deeply rooted pain.

Carly Robins did a great job solo narrating. She gave each character a distinct voice and emotion.

I haven't read the other books in Samantha Chase's The Donovans series, but I had no trouble following along with Tempt Me. This story worked just fine as a standalone.

A very sweet hurt/comfort opposites attract romance, Liam is a staid (sometimes grumpy) veteran who is just crying out for some love in his life. Tessa is set in her ways, cheery, and also desperately in need of some romance.

Samantha Chase does a lovely job of making these two total opposites fit quite nicely. And I think Carly Robins did a fine job with the narration in the audio version of Tempt Me.

At first, this book really had grasped my attention. Grumpy/Sunshine is in my top 3 of favorite tropes. While it had that aspect, this book just didn’t give it 100%. I enjoyed it, but I was hoping for a little bit more,

In the sequel to Dare Me, we get the story of Liam, Ariana's brother who came back from the Marines with his friend and Ariana's love interest, Will. Liam has decided to settle down and buy a house in town to be close to his big and tight-knit family. What he didn't realize until after he moved in was that his neighbor is Tessa, the annoying bridesmaid from his friend's wedding that we went to. While neither can stand the other when they first realize this, Liam ends up apologizing for the way he acted and changes even more after he finds out she's a widow. Tessa was in reality just married to her best friend to fulfill his wish of getting married before he died but they were never really anything other than best friends. Liam suggests that she needs to get back out there and maybe start dating. In this suggestion, he includes helping her get back into the groove of being in a relationship but they eventually realize that they have fallen for each other and decide to go for it. It was a fun, quick listen with the perfect amount of spice.

I’ve already left my review of this on the visual book version, but I would like to add that I enjoyed the narration of this one.

oooooh just what I needed. the spice level was there and honestly I loved it. I loved everything about and can't stop thinking of this book.

Liam has spent more than the last decade serving his country and is trying to adjust as he makes plans for his future. He is looking forward to his new business, the house he has recently purchased and being close to his family. He wasn’t happy to find out that his neighbor is a woman he has met in the past who always sees the best in others and in every situation.

Even though Tessa’s past isn’t without its pain she works hard to show everyone she is happy both when it comes to her career as a teacher and her personal relationships. Although she tries to see the good in Liam his brutal opinions and cantankerous attitude makes that difficult but that doesn’t stop the feelings she is developing for him.

Liam and Tessa have dealt with their pasts very differently which causes some turmoil however with the help of those they care about they are able to overcome their mistakes and realize that they belong together. The narrator did a wonderful job with both characters and their feelings.

I enjoyed listening to: TEMPT ME, by Samantha Chase, narrated by Carly Robins. The narration was great. However, some of the aspects of this story didn’t meet my expectations. The two main characters are total opposites: She’s Miss Sunshine and he’s Mr. Grumpy. There wasn’t much to love at all on his side which was disappointing to me. Also, the fact that their romance seemed to have gone from 0 to 100 in no time didn’t do it for me. All that said, it was a light listen and the female character was nice as were the members of his family. Cute story line!

This was not my first Samantha Chase novel and I’m looking forward to her next book.

Liam and Tessa are opposites. They don't get along when they first meet and then they end up being neighbors. He's a jerk but apologies and the sparks fly from there. I had fun with this story. The Donovan's are a great but complex family. I enjoyed the whole thing.

A Grumpy/Sunshine story, as probably so many reviews have mentioned. This is the second book in Samantha Chase's series about the Donovan family, and I'm interested in reading the other volumes as I found the family and its dynamics interesting. Tempt Me, itself, left me shrugging my shoulders. It was fine--nothing remarkable or particularly memorable, and I didn't love the narration, finding it a bit overly dramatic. A little dog has a big role in the story and IMHO should have been included on the cover. Tempt Me would probably serve well as a Hallmark Christmas movie, especially as--honestly, you can't call this a spoiler--there's a film-ready heartwarming school Christmas concert scene that leaves everyone in happy tears. But if I had seen that idea in the teaser, I would probably have skipped it.

I feel like there was a bit of bait and switch with this one.

What was I baited with? A synopsis that sounded like a light-hearted grumpy vs sunshine, neighbor vs neighbor story.

What I got? A "trial" relationship story (a la the hero is gonna help the heroine with dating because she hasn't been with anyone since her best friend/pseudo husband died) and a lot of sanctimonius psycho-babble used to chastise the other person for how they behaved (to clarify - both the hero and heroine are guilty of this).

Not being a fan of the "trial relationship" trope is on me.

Not being a fan of all the pyscho-babble is not.

The only thing I DID like about this story is the hero's grand gesture after he was an ass. The rest of the story was just tolerable. I think the only reason I was able to finish it was because the narrator - Carly Robins - is fantastic.

Tempt Me is part of a series by Samantha Chase, but can be read as a standalone. This is a small town, enemies to lovers, neighbours, opposites attract very enjoyable romance. I found the pacing of the story a little bit quick going from 'can't stand you' to 'I want you' but other than that, the story was a very enjoyable listen. The narration was fantastic.

Her yard is full of Halloween decorations and one of them his drifted into his yard. How dare her! Tessa Sullivan is a happy, cheerful person; she enjoys singing and doing things for other people. Her favorite thing to do is decorate for holidays. Tessa is a widow she lost her husband and best friend. She moved to Laurel Bay, Maine because her family and friends didn’t approve her method of mourning. She baked a plate of cookies and took them next door to welcome her new neighbor only to discover he is the grouchy man from the wedding. Liam and Tessa have very little in common and yet they become friends. He tries to help her practice dating and she begins to draw him out of his negativity.
I like this tale! Tessa loved the holidays especially decorating for them. At first Liam found her annoying but soon he began to find her endearing. I was rooting for their relationship. There needs to be more people like Tessa in this world, someone that looks for the best in situations, someone that looks for the best in people, even in grouchy people. They both discovered they would have to make changes if their relationship was going to work. Tessa finally came to realize she had not allowed herself to mourn for her husband. This tale would make a great Christmas movie. This is the second book in the Donovans series.
