When Lorri's husband leaves her for her dog's trainer, she decides to start completely over. Finding a new home for her and Mister (her dog) outside of the city with enough room for a garden is easier than she expected. She buys the model home in a new development in Dalton Mill and settles in.

As a graphic designer Lorri can work from home so she and Mister soon become a fixture in the neighborhood and make friends with everyone they meet. When Lorri hears about the county fair she attends and is almost run over by a wayward cow. Rescued by Ryder, they agree to be just friends.

The author takes the reader through the difficult path of healing from past tragedies and betrayals and open their hearts for love and forgiveness. The story is well written the narrator is very good. Billed as a Christian romance, it wasn't preachy or overbearing for those who usually avoid Christian themed books.

I was given a copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.

After her husband leaves her for another woman, Lorri decides to move to Dalton Mill to start a new life within her dog Mister. Ryder is still mourning the loss of his wife and son 6 years later. Lorri and Ryder’s meeting at the fair is a hilarious. This meeting leads to friendship and both express that they don’t want more, each dealing with heartbreak from their pasts. As Lorri and Ryder begin spending more time together, their feelings grow into more than friendship. A realization surfaces that could threaten their budding relationship.
A beautifully written story of forgiveness, acceptance and second chances.
Lisa Larsen did a wonderful job with the narration.

Thank you @NetGalley and @StMartinsPress

Clean, Christian romance. Stand alone, but is apparently connected to the Adam's Grove series (a couple of characters from that series pop up at a wedding- I went digging because their backstory was too developed not to have been in a book)

After her husband cheated on her- again- Lorri leaves Raleigh and moves to the small, rural town of Dalton Mill. Though she has no desire to become romantically involved with anyone, she is attracted to a local guy, Ryder. Ryder also comes with baggage- his wife and son died in a car accident seven years ago. As their friendship grows, they both become more and more attracted to each other.

I enjoyed this, but it was a bit too faith based for my tastes. I think most readers of Christian fiction would say it was kind of light on the religion, and comparatively, it was much lighter than other books I've read, but it still was more than I prefer. I am not the target audience, obviously. While I did enjoy the book, between it being incredibly predictable and falling into the Christian catagory, I didn't love it.

The audiobook is narrated by Lisa Larsen. She is not familiar to me, but she did a good job. No complaints.

I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this audiobook, and the narrator! This was one of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to on here as far as quality. And I loved the story!

3/5*

This novel is the first that I read(listened to) by Nancy Naigle and it is a very cute, small-town Hallmark-movie-in-the-making novel about second-chances, forgiveness, healing and a very slow-burn romance. Okay, that was a lot of hyphenating in a row LOL!! Overall an enjoyable read about a woman who has a ruined marriage and a widowed man that find each other as they pick up the mess of their lives. I loved how it covered so many aspects of life's ups and downs- pain, growth, friendship, love and healing. I wouldn't be surprised to see this novel on the Hallmark channel next year.

I found the plot moved a little slow- mostly because the writing felt a little repetitive. For example, in the first few chapters, the reader is told about Lorri's failing marriage again and again - the same point made in many different sentences. Like, how Lorri's husband was there for her during her struggles with her family- this was mentioned way to many times. I personally like it better when the author shows us examples rather than just tell us what happened, if that makes any sense. I also wanted to see some more heart-wrenching angst from Lorri and Ryder. It felt like Lorri just accepted her divorce a little too easily. There was no ugly crying or depressions or a hole in her heart where her ex used to be. This is just personal preference...I like it angsty Hahaha! The religious aspect also threw me off too- I didn't realized that this was a pseudo-faith based novel, not usually what I read. And sorry for this unpopular opinion- I didn't like the narrator (sorry!). I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I had read it, rather than listened to it. Despite all these little points, this book is really a sweet and wholesome.

If you enjoy small-town, second-chance romances about healing and overcoming all odds, this is the book for you.

**Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this lovely book in exchange for my honest opinion**

We meet our main character, Lorri, figuring out if she wants to leave her husband or to forgive and forget. She decides to overcome and get past the indiscretion and before they know it their two becomes a three ... with a big puppy! Unfortunately the bliss does not last and she is rebuilding her life from the ground up. Enter Ryder, a small town rancher who does not like the new neighborhood that has been built on his family's old property.

For anyone who enjoys a Hallmark-like small town romance you will enjoy this book. It is almost smooth sailing for these two when the past comes crashing into the present. It is not hard to guess what part but it still was an interesting evolution. To me the characters seemed a little stiff. I wanted to really root for them but there did not seem to be a lot to them. Which might sound weird because they both have trauma but to me it seemed surface level.

Overall, I would recommend this book for someone looking for a small-town book with a hint of drama.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story.

HUGE thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to and review this story.

Trigger Warning: child loss, spouse loss, drinking and drug use mentions.

Lorri is in a sad marriage, she is certain her husband is cheating on her but lack of evidence and other things cause her to stay. Until the day she decides she is DONE. It's Valentine's day and the credit card is over the limit AGAIN. What could Craig have purchased now? He hasn't sent her any flowers and he is out of town on business. A quick look at the credit card as she makes a payment on it shows flowers and jewelry. Well those aren't for her she is certain so she resolves that now is the time! She's going to leave him. Only...when she gets home from work Craig is there to surprise her with a puppy and a declaration to recommit himself to their marriage. Lorri isn't exactly sure she wants to but feels it's the right thing to do. Fast forward a year and Craig leaves her. The audacity of this guy. Seriously, read the book if for no other reason than to be as indignant as I am over the crap this guy spews!

Anyway, Lorri decides it's time to start over. She buys a beautiful house on 5 acres and starts her life in a new town. She's settling in perfectly when she meets Ryder. The journey from here is a really good one. Friendship, love, loss, healing and forgiveness are top bill in this beautifully written story about a second chance at love and life.

This was such a wholesome romance, truly. There were some small bumps in the road but overall they worked through their issues and found a way into each other’s hearts. The setting was also very beautiful as well.

The Wedding Ranch is a lovely offering by author Nancy Naigle. Graphic designer Lorri Walker married Craig too young to escape a troubled home life due to an addicted brother. But it was always more of a marriage of convenience, not that Lorri wasn’t firmly committed to making the marriage work. But when Craig admits to cheating, Lorri doesn’t feel she can. When Craig makes every effort to repent and to show his commitment by presenting Lorri with a Mastiff pup and promising to make sure the pup is trained, she is onboard. But then six months later Craig leaves Lorri for the dog trainer, her young child, and a teacup Yorkie.

So with her new freedom, Lorri moves a few hours out from Raleigh to the small town of Dalton Mill and the new area of Mill Creek Highlands. Due to walking her Mastiff, Mister, Lorri meets neighbor Tinsley who becomes instrumental in the story as does her best friend from Raleigh, Pam.

When Lorri takes an afternoon off from her work-at-home position to visit the local fair, she also makes the acquaintance of Ryder Bolt, widower, land owner, and disgruntled that the land his parents sold from the family hold is now where Lorri’s home is located, when Ryder pushes Lorri out of the way of a charging bull. When it is seen that Lorri has a bump on her head and is somewhat disoriented, Ryder takes her under his wing to watch over her as they share in the activities and midway, taste the fair foods, and get acquainted. Both agree they are not looking for a relationship but can always use a friend. And thus the story takes off!

Once again Ms. Naigle has spun the most delightful of tales told with heart and showing a pathway for two troubled souls to become whole! I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

At this time of year, I know I want to listen to happy stories. Where characters get second chances at life, a second chance at love. The Wedding Ranch by Nancy Naigle, is no exception. Lori Walker, is newly divorced and has just movies to a new town. The only thing she has brought is her mastiff puppy. She settles into the new town and soon makes friends. Ryder Bolt has lived in town, his whole life. He was married and had a son here. His sister and her kids are still here. But he is still mourning the death of his wife and child and can’t seem to move forward. Neither Lori nor Ryder were looking for love and yet when you aren’t looking, sometimes you find it. The two have a connection right away and can’t ignore it. I loved the way the author told this story. It had an interesting twist and it really surprised me. I had to keep reading to see how this one would end. Would they get together? Would their past experiences keep them from finding love? This was a four star read for me. I want to thank Netgalley, Dreamscape Media & the author for my copy, for an honest review. Lisa Larsen did an excellent job narrating. It was my pleasure to listen & review this one. I hope you enjoy it as well!!!

A very sweet slow burn romance about two lovely yet lonely broken people who are trying to live their lives in a very different manner than they’d imagined. They’re very opposite in so many ways and yet… Lorri has moved away from all she knew to get away from her cheating and despicable ex. Craig lost wife and child tragically and is truly stuck and though loves his sister and her family, is riddled with guilt that he wasn’t with them when they were taken from him. The road to their HEA is going along nicely, until some history is uncovered and then its a will they won’t they or even can they? It’s a wonderful listen (great narration) to them finding themselves and love.

Lorri believed her husband was cheating on her but when he professed his love and brought home a Mastiff puppy, Mister, she believed him. It did not take long for him to confess he loved the dog trainer and then he moved out. Lorri took Mister and bought a house in Dalton Mill. She needed to get away and the land was perfect for her and Mister. The land had been in Ryder’s family for years, but his father sold it and new homes were developed on the farmland. I loved the description of the town and community. The people were supportive and fun to get to know. Ryder was not looking for a relationship but Lorri was perfect for him. This book is about old and new love, support and love of family, and forgiveness.

I absolutely loved the Wedding Ranch. It is set in North Carolina so I loved being able to relate to the small town and bigger city vibes at the same time. I live in a suburb of Raleigh and love all the little towns that have ranch style wedding venues. The connection between Lorri and Ryder was undeniable from the moment they met but I knew that they would have some relation down the line with foreshadowing.

Lorri's husband left her after some time. He had given her a mastiff puppy who she called mister and he filled the void she felt in her marriage. When he said he was leaving her, she knew she had to get out and move away. She moved to the small town of Dalton Mill and was able to work form home as a graphic designer. She went to the county fair and through a situation there, she met Ryder. Ryder lost his wife and son in a car accident years before and was still closed off to basically everyone. Lorri and Ryder become friends and start spending lots of time together. Neither of them were looking for something serious, but they both feel a strong attraction to the other. They go through some hard times and experience so trials and neither are sure if it is something they want to pursue.

This was a fun, sweet story about two people finding a second chance for love later in life. I really appreciated grown main characters who acted their age and had the baggage that accompanies that.

I found the set up of the third act break up to be very obvious and predictable, but I liked the way the author handled it rather quickly and didn't draw the separation out too long.

*Mild spoiler ahead*

My biggest complaint about this book is the epilogue. Not every book needs a proposal or wedding to end it off. Having a man publicly propose to another woman at the launch party for the new charity he has started in remembrance of his dead wife and son seemed really, REALLY out of place. It was creepy and knocked this book down from a tentative 4 🌟 rating to a 3.5 🌟 that will likely wind up as 3 stars on Goodreads.

A different kind of romance but with a sprinkling of Christianity. The story was sweet, a second chance for both characters. Nice character development as well

This is a book about second chances and learning to love after heartbreak. Ryder is a simple man who is trying to move on after he lost his wife and young son tragically. Lorri is starting over after a divorce (from a man I don’t think ever loved her). When their worlds collide, literally, each decides they want to be friends and friends only.

Faith and forgiveness are big in this book and drive the characters a lot. The Wedding Ranch sounds beautiful and his family are supportive and great. Her friends are also supportive and help Lorri along the way. I really enjoyed this book, I just wish it would have moved a little faster.

Ms. Larson did a wonderful job narrating this emotional story. This is the first book I have listened to with her narrating and she brought the characters to life and brought emotion to the words. I prefer dual narration, but I still enjoyed listening to this book and Ms. Larson’s take on the characters.

I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook version of this book. Everything I write is of my own thoughts feeling and opinions. I am in no way affiliated or compensated for my review.
This was a fun sweet romance novel that touches on a form of addiction (alcoholism) there is a scene in the book where drunk driving does occur and is part of the story throughout the book. If you're sensitive to that I do not recommend reading this book. With that said this book is about a woman who leaves the hustle and bustle of city life after a divorce to setting in the quiet of the countryside. She is self employed and has a huge dog by her side that her ex husband got her as a gift before they divorced. Well she is just enjoying life not looking for love when she falls in love with a man who is a widow. Here to find out its her brother that caused his wife and son to die in the drunk driving accident. He thinks she sought him out as some sort of crazynes. In the end all is well and they get past that and live a happy ever after. I do not want to write much more as this was a really sweet romance book.

The stoy line was good but the narrator was a distraction. It took longer than usual to get through it. I like to read wedding books so it will sell good.

This is a sweet story in which it gives the reader hope. This is the first book for me by Nancy Naigle and I enjoyed the characters as well as the plot. Mister is a big fluffy character that adds a bit to the story. Ryder and Lorri both carry a lot of emotional baggage, and are wary of having their fragile hearts broken. They start out as friends, slowly and warily, as their feelings grow stronger and deeper. They are both kind and lovely, thoughtful and caring, and I was drawn to them from the beginning, hoping they’d find a happy future together. I enjoyed the best friend aspect as well standing by her friend. Nice light and what i would consider a fun summer beach read.
