Cute but predictable story about finding yourself and learning how to forgive. I loved the setting and characters, especially Mister. This is perfect for those who love a good Hallmark Christmas story or a quick read with a happy ending.

The Wedding Ranch by Nancy Naigle
Contemporary romance. Slow build and closed door.
Lorri moves to a new subdivision after her divorce is final. It’s on five acres and perfect for working from home, farmers markets, county fairs and her huge mastiff dog, Mister.
Ryder is unhappy with his parents decision to sell parts of the farmland. Meeting Lorri has him thinking maybe it’s not such a bad thing.
The two don’t want a relationship. They get to know each other slowly and overcome obstacles as they come up.

An emotional story of love, lose and rebuilding. Sweet and charming.

🎧 I read this book first and then did a second reading by audiobook. The performance was nicely done by Lisa Larson. The tone and cadence is exactly as a soft and emotional romance should be. There are specific voices for the two main characters and changing from one to the other is smooth. Both reading and listening were pleasant and romantic. I think I preferred the audiobook just a smidge better for getting to know each character and what was in their hearts.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and St Martins Griffin and Dreamscape Media.

When you request a book like this you know exactly what you are getting and I find that super comforting. While the big surprise reveal was pretty easy to spot, I enjoyed the characters and the relationship progressions. Very cute, though coulda used a bit more heat

Small town romance, grumpy/sunshine trope! This was super cute. Two people with an emotional past collide (literally) in the most unconventional way. Grab your hot cocoa, snuggle with a good fire, and read this book!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and netgalley for the ALC!

A dog is one of the main characters of this book, so of course I loved it! Lorri’s husband, Craig gives her a mastiff puppy, Mister, on Valentine’sDay, then asks for a divorce six months later. Lorri needs a change of pace and a bigger yard for Mister, so she moves to the small town of Dalton Mill. Attending the country fair, she literally runs into Ryder Bolt. Ryder hasn’t been interested in another women since his wife, Valerie passed seven years ago, but he can’t get Lorri off his mind.

The Wedding Ranch is a sweet, second chance at love romance with all the feelings. Happiness, sadness, trust and hope make this a realistic and endearing story about two people deciding to take that jump into love again.
