Simone is devastated when sister Ally (aspiring actress) dies in suspicious circumstances and won’t rest until she has got to the bottom of it. There just happened to be a job available at the home of the film production owners. Perfect for a bit of snooping! Written from 3 different points of view. It’s a fast paced book giving the reader little chance of catching their breath. Quite a few wrong’uns live between the pages. The ending, it has to be said, is a complete letdown and if you’d accidentally turned over too many pages you’d never have known. I prefer endings to last a bit longer than this one did - very disappointing. It made me think “all that, just for this”. The book will appeal to Miranda’s fans though.

After the sudden death of her sister, Ally, Simone is determined to find out what happened. She goes undercover as a concierge to Ally’s producer couple Goldie and Braun. Ally was a star on their film and was found inside their car. This was a quick read.

I really enjoyed this, and read it within 2 days. I'm usually a really slow reader, but this had me grief from the start.

There were a few characters I liked and a few who I didn't, but it was fun to see that change over time. There were plenty of twists yet it was still easy to follow and tired up nicely by the end.

All in all, an enjoyable read and look forward to reading more by this author

A good read, very gripping. Enjoyed the plot and the dual character narrative. Good twists to keep you guessing. I've read quite a few books from the author now and they never disappoint.

The Concierge by Miranda Rijks was another excellent book, (and I forget I had read it) Every book I have read by Miranda has been a 5 star book and this one was no different. This book was fast paced, with lots of twists and turns throughout which made it had to put this book down.

Just Brilliant I loved it.

Married couple Goldie and Braun Delucci run a film production company. One of the actors in their film, Ally, tragically dies in a car accident after a day of filming. Ally's sister, Simone, gets a job as Goldie and Braun's "concierge", which basically entails being Goldie's personal assistant, managing the house, and kids. Unbeknownst to Goldie and Braun, Simone got the job under false pretences. They have no idea that Simone is Ally's sister.

Simone is convinced that the Delucci's had something to do with Ally's death. She takes leave from her normal bookkeeping job in order to be the Delucci's concierge. This is a live-in job, perfect for Simone to dig around. As she digs around, she discovers secrets that she didn't intend to uncover.

What a dysfunctional family! This novel is told from three perspectives - Goldie's, Simone's, and Goldie's daughter, Rose's. Through each of their perspectives we learn how dysfunctional the Delucci family truly is and all the secrets that they are hiding.

This was a crazy and wild ride! I was completely shocked by the ending. There were so many twists and turns leading up to the ending, that I did not predict it in the slightest. Miranda Ricks' always writes great thrillers, and this one did not disappoint! Character development is excellent and there are no shortage of thrills.

Another fun, twisty story by Miranda Rijks! I liked the way the story was told by three points of view. There were some good twists and turns and it picks up a lot of speed at the end where the suspense builds fast and I had to keep reading to see how it would end! I really loved how the movie producers were making the movies with titles from Miranda's other books! I think that should be a real thing! Overall an enjoyable read that I would definitely recommend!

Simone's actress sister Ally has died in a car crash, she was working for Goldie and Braun Delucci who run a film production company.

Simone is desperate to find out what happened and when the police are no closer to solving this investigation, she manages to get hired as a P.A working for Goldie Delucci, so that she can unearth the truth about her sister's death.

Another great book from this fabulous author who knows how to keep the reader hooked.

I would definitely recommend reading this.

This is my second read of Rijks and I am now a fan. I flew through this one and was hooked from the start. Simone’s sister Ally is stable, has a loving husband and daughter, and is an aspiring actress with a solid lead role in an upcoming movie. So when Simone hears that she has been found dead, driving the car of one of the producers, Braun Delucci, and drugs were found in her system, Simone can hardly believe it and sets out to prove this to be false. Her first step in doing this is to accept the role of the personal assistant of the Deluccis, and they are none the wiser. However, the more Simone digs to find out what happened, the more she realizes someone wants her gone before she finds anything out, and the suspense really takes off from there.

This was crazy, heart pounding good, and I loved it. I had no clue how this would turn out, and there were a couple of sub plots to keep you just distracted enough and not figure this one out. I have a couple more books of hers on my Kindle and I cannot wait to get to them. I definitely recommend this one if you have not read it yet!

Simone lost her sister and the facts just don't add up. What's a girl to do when the case is closed? Become a live-in concierge for the rich couple that employed her sister as an actress.
There was a lot going on with the daughter and it seemed irrelevant, but it tied together nicely at the end. It's a bit of a slow burn, though it still moved along at a decent pace. But the end had everything happen very fast and it was a whirlwind! I couldn't put it down because I needed to know how it would wrap up.

Love this author…… This one is told from different points of view but is very easy to follow. I loved the mention of Miranda’s previous title, The Insomniac, when naming her film in the book. Clever! Amazing thriller!

This was a fast reading, nicely written book.
The main characters are Goldie and Braun, a movie producing couple. When the lead actress in their next film tragically dies in a car accident, her sister, Simone, is determined to find out the exact cause of death. She manages to land the job as a live-in concierge to the power couple, and does a bit of sleuthing.
The plot was somewhat predictable, no big twists, but still enjoyable.
Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator books for the advanced copy in return for my honest review.
4 stars for easy reading.

Ally Greystone, an actor longing for her big break, finally lands an important role in DeLucci Productions’ new film, The Insomniac. Unfortunately, the long hours and the attendant stress take a huge toll on her, and she barely has any time for husband Rob, daughter Carly or sister Simone. When she suddenly dies in a car accident, and police investigations find an overdose of meth in her system, Simone cannot believe it. She suspects foul play, but the police are convinced it is an accident.
Since the car belonged to the DeLuccis, Simone is convinced the couple have something to do with her sister’s death. After all, Braun was the director, and Marigold ‘Goldie’ was the producer of the film. Simone wrangles a job as their concierge, hoping to learn something that can re-open the murder investigation.
She ends up learning of the dysfunction in the DeLucci family. At 17, daughter Rose is rebellious and going around with a rather dodgy older man, while Florian, at 13, is bullied at school. Will she discover the truth about her sister’s death?

The book is written in the 1st person present tense PoV of Simone, Goldie and Rose. At first the three PoVs seem disparate and unconnected, but soon a vague link between the three begins to emerge.
It’s a quick read, and I suspect it might have been a quick write for the author.
The tendency of characters to suddenly embark on a description of their surroundings is very annoying. Here Goldie suddenly describes one of the rooms to us, and it sounds fake and takes us out of the story.
I didn’t like any of the characters. Braun was rather bland, despite the author’s attempts to project him as some kind of a rake. and Rose’s arc was completely unbelievable and led far from Ally’s story. In fact, that’s another thing I didn’t like about the resolution. The mystery of Ally’s death is resolved but in a by-the-way manner, not by Simone’s efforts at all.
I was unimpressed with the manner in which Simone goes about her investigations. Her methods are amateurish though sincere. Her deductions are knowledge she has stumbled upon. She goes about her task without any real planning or thought.
There are three times when Braun and Goldie have cause to be suspicious of Simone, but they set the thought aside and go about their day. How strange is that?
Goldie is remarkably naïve as a character, blindly believing her daughter even though she knows that Rose is not truthful.
Florian had the potential to be a sympathetic character, to play a greater role in the plot, but he never has a chance. Even his problems are dismissed in a few sentences.
We never get to know Carly either. She too remains a flat character.
The ending went off at breakneck speed, resolving issues without conviction. There was a forced happily-ever-after element about the ending, with some characters suddenly living improved lives
There is a larger theme about dysfunction in families but it gets lost in the melee.

Miranda Rijks gives a domestic thriller reader everything she needs in another classic read. Wealthy bossy couple, movie production, young aspiring actress, drugs and sex. And death. When Simone doesn’t believe the cause of her sisters car crash she becomes entangled in the story and we are off on a thrilling ride. Miranda is one of my go to authors when I need a good thriller and she delivers another one.

Miranda Rijks is officially on my auto read list. She consistently delivers fast-paced thriller fun and The Concierge is no exception.

Simone is certain there is more to her sister Ally's death than a self-caused car crash. To find out the truth, she infiltrates the home of Goldie and Braun Delucci, the producers of the film Ally was working on, as their personal concierge.

The story is told from the alternating POVs of Simone, Goldie and Rose, Goldie's daughter. This format gave the reader insider information that only certain characters knew and showed the impact of each person's actions. The characters are well-developed and the plot is layered without being messy. Rose is a really interesting character and I would love to see her appear in another book :)

Another great thriller from Miranda Rijks!

I really enjoyed the pacing of The Concierge and how it reads like a movie (especially as many of the characters work in film).I found the pacing to be fast with many twists and unexpected developments along the way. I loved most of the characters and how they use their survival instincts while trying to solve how Ally died and being placed in unexpected situations. I found that the multiple POV was well written and efficient.
