Thank you for the ARC 🙏 warning though: this review contains spoilers ⚠️
This was a cute second-chance story (I love second chance romances). While there were lots of moments I loved, overall it sort of rubbed me the wrong way (see below).
1. This hugely popular dating service company only caters to women seeking heterosexual relationships? Seem like a pretty small market these days and being so discriminatory in their practices it just didn’t feel believable that they would be so popular and successful.
2. When they finally confront Soulmates Reunited, the reasons they give the owners for why the owed her a refund should have been: they were happily committed until their company harassed Simon into distancing himself from her and ultimately ending their relationship. Then they charged her a huge sum of money to tell her they were actually soulmates. Also I’m pretty sure giving Jada his home address and contact info without his consent is unethical. Either way, those issues were ignored in the meeting and what they did bring up didn’t really feel like the big issues and I was left thinking “huh? That’s what they worked so hard to get a meeting to say? Wth?”
I did think the way Simon tries to woo her was very cute and the ending was adorable. I just didn’t jive with the story.

I'm normally not a fan of second chance romances. Especially when the relationship ended with the one of the two main characters ended up with a broke heart. However this one actually worked. Because it made sense. At least to me.

This was a cute second chance book. Two exes get matched on a dating website and thus the story begins. I liked most of the story but found some of the decisions and plot complications to be unnecessary and a bit much at times so in the end, only giving the book a 3 or so star rating.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC copy of this book to read and review. All of these thoughts and comments are my own.

This was a cute little romance book. It’s about two exes who end up matching together on this dating website. It’s about figuring out if second chances are worth it and if you can navigate through the heartbreak.

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, sad, happy, and romantic all in one. The spice was good but it wasn’t too spicy. So if you like a little smut but not too much smut then this book is for you.

Thanks again for an ARC copy. 4 stars!

The basic premise of Miss Matched—that two exes are matched on a dating sites that promises to unite soulmates—is a fun idea that got me interested in the story. As I read more, though, I felt let down and eventually sick of this book. I think there are too many plot complications that feel silly and unnecessary, and I really started to dislike heroine Tayla by the end. An interesting premise that doesn’t fully deliver.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 5

This was such a cute book!
Tayla signs up to meet her “soulmate”, only to be matched with her ex, Simon, who broke her heart six years ago. She wants her money back and he wants her back!
This was fun to read and I couldn’t put it down! I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a second chance romance and lighthearted read!

"Our gazes lock, and the determination in hers tells me it’s going to be an uphill battle to win her back. She’s always been stubborn. No problem. My endurance is going to surprise her. I grin, and she scowls."

As the blurb states, this is a second chance romance where a fraudulent dating site matches two ex-es as each other's soulmates and while Tayla thinks it's impossible for them to rekindle their relationship, Simon is set to win her back. I really enjoyed the writing style and the beginning was amazing. Tayla & Simon had a palpable chemistry and their connection was undeniable but I just could not believe the stupid explanation that Simon gave for leaving Tayla (view spoiler) that part pissed me off. My only problem with the book was Simon's maturity because he had none. I liked his friend Aaaron more than him at times tbh. His inability to tell Tayla the entire truth got on my nerves, if that wasn't the case, the book would've been perfect for me because the scenes where he put so much effort to spend time with Tayla were so adorable and sizzling with the chemistry between them. Overall, I still think this book was enjoyable and if you're looking for a second chance romance, you should pick this up!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review

“There it is. The ugly truth. My soulmate already decided I wasn’t his”
“He wants you back. Regret is running through Simon like a wildfire, and he wants you to play firefighter”
Second chance at love and one bed!!!!
Is it possible to fall in love again with your ex, who broke you heart, because you matched on a Soulmate matching company? I don’t know about it but Tayla and Simon seem to face this kind of situation !!!
For whatever reason, Simon wants to convince her that they indeed are soulmate. He is still in love with her. And oh boy … he truly does !!!! He is so sweet !!!! But also so troubled … he has his own red flags !!!!
She doesn’t want to get broken hearted again.
I found it a really good story about how love can overcome even the opinion of others and the insecurities of one or both in the couple.
I enjoyed reading this book a lot and I very much appreciated the mild spicy scenes !!!
I’m so grateful I had the chance to read it!!
“You’ve never been a mess a day in your life, Tay. Gorgeous, funny, clever … So many things, but not a mess”
“Sometimes when something gets broken, you can’t fix it. It stays broken”

This book sadly let me down on multiple levels,

It started pretty interesting, the whole plot line hooked me and had me flipping pages craving for answers and the outcome,

But at some point the story fell flat, the MMC pissed me off more times then not, he and her shouldn’t have been together…he was an idiot and I didn’t like that she kept giving him chances,

It was physically painful to continue to read, I had to force myself to finish it because I’m petty and if I’m to hate on a book I have to at least finish it,

At the end the last chapter and epilogue saved this for me slightly, instead of my original two star rating I gave it a three, I just feel like the story was way to long and drawn out,

If it was a hundred pages shorter and she had him on his knees groveling it would’ve been better, all in all it was an okay mediocre read.

Thank you netgally for the Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was not terribly written, it was just no excitement. The characters were stale, no growth or development. The plot was very uninteresting and predictable. This is the only book in my life that has made me think of “DNF” and let me tell you, I am so OCD and actually had anxiety for the author, so I saw it out.

The story was predictable, bland and unlikeable. I don’t have high standards, as some reviewers may… but this felt very undeveloped and had me truly feeling like reading it was a chore.

BUT, since it was an ARC from Netgalley, Wattpad and Wendy Million, I finished.

It had a lot of potential. Unique story line that I have not seen, just stale.

Tayla, is desperate to find a soulmate and pays all this money to find her soulmate through a computer system program. Well when she discovers who her match is, it is like ripping a bandage off an open wound that’s had to forget.

Will Simon receive his second chance with Tayla , when she is still having a hard time recovering from their breakup 6 years ago or will he want to take the company for all that they are…believing it’s a scam?

If you like romance and Hallmark, maybe this is for you but it was definitely not a page turner and more of a chore for me.

Thanks again though for the ARC, Netgalley, Wattpad and Wendy for an honest review. Good luck.

This book pulled me in from the first line. I found the premise very interesting and am a sucker for a second chance romance. While I didn’t always agree with the choices the characters made, I really liked both Simon and Tayla. I felt like I truly understood where both characters were coming from once all the details were laid out. This story gave me all the feels, both happy and sad. It’s not a sad story insomuch as a realistic one. They had a past they had to work through. Both characters had their own truths to accept and futures to map out and heads to get straight. For me, there really was a palpable connection between the pair, a magic that zinged between them that came alive in the pages of the story. If I could have changed anything, it would have been complete honesty from both characters from the beginning. Then again, the story would have been drastically different and lacking the richness it had. The MCs didn’t just grow, they found a way to rebuild the trust that had been lost between them, forging a path to a love-filled happily ever after.

The story takes place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The story opens up with Tayla emptying her savings at an attempt of finding a Soulmate with Soulmates Reunited. A prestige dating service that finds your Soulmate with a long questionnaire and deep questions and at the end it sends you your match with all their details. BUT you will NEVER GUESS who Tayla's match will be!?

Simon an ex-boyfriend of Tayla's (with a story you will have to read to believe so I won't go into detail here) is her SOULMATE and she just can't believe it. There's got to be another - there's no way it's F*CKING SIMON (TMthis phrase is used a lot LOL).

Talks about: dating services, finding true love, past mistakes, family dynamics and big decisions.

If you love animals this is a romance for you!

Read the book to find out more!

COMING June 2023.

It's a good book. Its cute once it gets to the good stuff. You will enjoy it if you pick it up. It just isn't 5 stars for me - all of my reviews can't be 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Wattpad is not quite self-published, but close to, and has the quality I expect from the platform. This dating app gone wrong tale is a second chance romance. Tayla has been matched by Soulmates Reunited (at an exorbitant fee) with her ex, and wants her money back. She agrees to give Simon another chance if he will refund half her fee. He wants to bring the company down on it’s knees for false advertising, and taking women’s life savings on a promise of something that may not exist–he’s been matched by the service four times as the only soulmate for one lucky woman, and one match is not taking no for an answer and there is a restraining order involved.

Told in alternating points of view, there is drama, humor and tension, and the book is well-paced, but nothing particularly stood out in terms of character growth, setting, language or writing.

Are soulmates real? Is a second chance worth taking? Simon and Tayla have a few…conflicting views on both. He wants a second chance. She still isn’t truly past how he blew their first one so completely. And honestly, neither was I. He’s truly angry at the fraud being perpetuated. She’s on the fence. But someone also isn’t sharing all of the facts, and those facts just might destroy any chance these two have now.

Simon and his reluctance to rock the boat now that he’s finally got Tayla back in his life really irked me, I won’t lie. Even when all signs point to “bad idea alert”, sometimes we just have to learn the hard way. A few times. And then watch our dream disappear again. But is it really this time? It seems that some growing has happened on both sides of this relationship and, as much as I really wanted to throttle Simon for his cowardice, I sort of understood it. I’m not excusing it. But I understood it to an extent.

As for Tayla, I totally get her. She’s been burned so much that her heart is just tiny pieces of ash. And the one guy who could finally explain it all just….won’t. Why’d he do it? Was he really that unhappy then? Has he changed at all now? So she’s got some serious thinking and soul searching to do when all the pieces fall into place this time around. And let’s face it. Love isn’t always easy, or simple, or even wanted. Because it hurts.

As angry as I was about how this all comes together, and how they don’t really get their justice against shady dealings, I did enjoy how Simon and Tayla find their way back to each other. Maybe their first try was just right people, wrong time. But this try feels a lot more concrete and very much right people, forever time to me.

I am sorry to the author, but this book was ABSOLUTELY not for me. I did not realize when I requested this on Netgalley that it was a Wattpad book. It reads very much like a typical not great Wattpad book, unfortunately. There have been one or two Wattpad books that I enjoyed, but this was definitely not one of them. The characters were just SO unlikable separately as well as a couple. They should have never gotten back together. The characters were so boring and not well developed, and the plot was overall very stale and uninteresting. I just could not give a single crap about anything that happened in this book. Additionally, having the book in dual pov really just made this 10 times more unlikable, taking all of the surprise and suspense out of it. The book was so predictable and Wattpad-cringey that it had me rolling my eyes so many times. If I had a choice, I would definitely have DNFed this book after around 10 pages. Finishing this felt like wading through mud. This whole book just felt under-developed, and made an overall very poor reading experience.

Age rating: 15+ (one or two spicy scenes, maybe 1.5/5🌶️)

This was a cute and fun second chance romance. Simon and Tayla separated six years ago, only to get matched by a matchmaking service six years later and while he’s ecstatic for a second chance- she is not so much! I love when a mmc grovels and Simon spends several weeks wooing her back, all the while trying to figure out how to tell her why he broke it off years ago and how the matchmaking service is a fraud. Tayla is a good strong willed mfc who doesn’t cave easy (as she shouldn’t) and while you will get a HEA these two go through it! Great scenes between these two and chemistry:) Definitely recommend for all rom com lovers like myself!

I love the idea of a matchmaking service that promises you your SOULMATE. But is that even possible? And what if the soulmate the agency pairs you with is the guy who broke your heart years ago?

Tayla Murphy and Simon Buchanon were a thing back in the day. On the night she thought he was going to propose he suddenly breaks it off with her. No explanation, no reason other than he “can’t do this right now.”

After years of dating guys exactly the opposite of Simon, Tayla finally takes all her savings and invests in the matchmaking soulmate agency. When she’s paired with Simon she is furious.

What she doesn’t know is that Simon wants her back. In a big way. And is willing to do anything and everything to show her that they really are destined to be together. The only problem? He’s got a secret about the night he broke it off with her and in order for her to trust him he’s going to have to come clean. And he just can’t.

The storyline was solid and this was a good read. The reason Simon broke off with her is revealed 2/3 into the book and just when I was thinking, just tell her the real reason, the REAL reason was revealed to be something I had no clue about, and that changed the trajectory of the story for me.

Thanks to Netgalley for a sneak peek at this story. 3.5 stars from me.

Lightning in a bottle!
Tayla is looking for her soulmates six years after Simon, the love of her life, broke her heart. She turns to a Soulmate matching service that promises to find her one true love - only to be matched with Simon! They team up to try to get Tayla's money back from the the shady company only to grow closer once again.

The chemistry and banter between these two is sweet and steamy. I loved their relationship with each other and their friends. Simon is a full on golden retriever MMC who will do anything to win Tayla back.

This book is sweet, funny and lightly steamy. I enjoyed this couples journey through healing their past in order to move forward in their lives.

This was an extremely well written and entrancing second chance at romance story and I adored every single page. Its stars are Tayla and Simon who dated 6 years before for several years. Their breakup was terrible and it was not easy for either side.

The story opens up as Tayla has shelled out a lot of money to find out her soul mate match and when she finds out it is her ex who dumped her for someone else she is devestated. This is not only a second chance for these two but also it highlights the evils of online dating from the successes to the epic failures.

Simon was not ready for Tayla six years before and now when he finds out he is matched to her, he finally gets an opening to re-enter her life and hopefully get a second shot with her.. Tayla does not go easily and thats what I loved about this story. While she agrees to Simons conditions she does not forgive him and she does npt forget either and she makes him pay over and over and over. I love that she wants the truth and that she never loses sight of that throughout the story.

And well what I loved about Simon is he now is ready for her but he also knows what a treasure she is and he fears what his truths will do to his second chance with her.

This is probably the best second chance romcon that I have ever read and I adored that the author made Simon suffer and Tayla is very hard on him.
