I am new to this author and their content, I appreciated the style and the heavy sprinkling of pop culture references. The book is a guide to planning out your best life and truly acting on it. A great read for those wanting clarity and direction.

I must admit I had no idea who Mike X was but when I read the blurb for Your Best Life: Tactics, Tools and Insights to Create a Life of Fulfillment, Joy and Abundance I knew it was something I’d want to read. I’m a fan of self help books and even when a book covers the same territory as others books I’ve read or listened to in the past I still find them worthwhile. Why? Well the blurb actually mentions Tony Robbins so I will give you an answer that I first heard spoken by Tony. Repetition is the mother of skill. I do believe hearing the same information has value. And sometimes when you hear it told in a different way it will suddenly make sense, somehow the information will just finally click with you. And Mike X does indeed cover information I’ve heard in several other self helps books over the years, but his delivery is both fresh and entertaining. His writing has a conversational tone that is both easy to read and quite enjoyable. Add in that the chapters are short, bite-sized if you will, allowing you to process a ‘lesson’ in a very short time. As will all self help books you only truly get out of them what you put in so I’d encourage you to go into this one with an open mind because I feel there is real merit in much of what Mike X talks about, especially considering his range of topics touch on pretty much every facet of a person’s life. And I have no doubt there are sections of this book that I’ll review again times in the future. I’d like to thank X-Up Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an eARC of Your Best Life.

I'm not usually a big fan of "self help" books. They tend to chime with the same-old same-old "Live your life fully!" mantra--it just gets tired.

Your Best Life however, captured my attention from Page 1.

Author Mike X is at times irreverent, and profane. Not obnoxiously so by any stretch. He "writes like he talks" which I found refreshing. Lots of illustrations and white space make Your Best Life an easy read, but that doesn't stop it from being chocked full of insight that can indeed help you live your best life.

Whether you are a fan of self help or not, reading Your Best Life can validate some of what you do, as well as provide actionable insight into how to get more from life.

Let's face it, we can all use an assist in getting more from life. You've only got one life to live, might as well make the best of it. Your Best Life can help in that endeavor.

This book is a good reminder of what it takes to lead our best life in a world swept up in consumption and a desire for more. Good reminders there, some valuable nuggets to ponder. Easy to read and easy to execute the authors suggestions.

Your Best Life : Tactics, Tools and Insights to Create a Life of Fulfillment, Joy and Abundance is a self help book aimed at the US market. I did have high hopes after the claims that it is comparable with Tony Robbins, but for me it fell a long way short of that. Most of the book is a repeat of other people's ideas and it is filled with all the standard well known quotes and advice. It is a a bit like a vulcan mind dump and is a bit chaotic. I hope this is just my opinion (having read Tony Robbins many times over the years, along with a huge amount of self help books it just lacks that sort of quality to me) and maybe it will be better received by anyone new to self help. From this perspective the author might have provided a really good platform for guiding people to read the classics and seek out more guidance from the authors he references. This is just my opinion and I won't be posting my review anywhere else. I wish the author the best of luck and hope the perfect audience is out there for him. Anyone whose aim is to help people have a better life is a bit of sunshine in the world.
