There was a lot of interesting perspectives in this book, though I expected more of a focus on the everyday creative rather than the eccentric filmmakers/novels/artists/etc of the world. I was looking for insight on my own creativity, but didn’t find what I was hoping for.

Despite this, it was still intriguing. The act of creating in order to find the work you were meant to make is rather mind blowing, and there were a number of creators that stood out to me. I appreciated the sections on designers in particular the most - the idea of collaboration and letting another person or group into your creative process is really thought provoking. The beginning and ending sections of the book turned out to be my favourite for this reason.

One minor thing that I can’t get past(and it’s petty) is the narrator pronouncing 2008 as “twenty-oh-eight”. I had to back up the audiobook because it took me completely out of the work.

Overall, I enjoyed this and it made me want to seek out more books on creativity!
