This was an action filled story where everything happens quite quickly since the majority of the book takes place over one week. There is instant attraction despite Alicia’s grief and battered self confidence and Nick’s many secrets. I got a little impatient with Alicia’s constant demands of Nick to ‘tell the truth’ despite him saying he could not, even when she did find out the truth about his profession. The action was riveting and the intimate scenes were HOT. This is a fast moving, sexy read that I would recommend if you want to steam up your glasses!

Good book!! Wow! I wasn't too sure about this one, I thought it might be too cutesy or bland! But was I wrong! This book had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, gangsters, undercover FBI, and it was hot hot hot! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I finished this book in one sitting! I highly recommend reading this book! It was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Sophia is a tour de force! I literally couldn't put this book down. She makes the complex murky world of undercover work and shady police officers infinitely captivating. Loved it!

An ER nurse with an obligation to help those in need finding what looks to be a criminal bleeding out on her porch leaves her with little options. What will happen when the criminal starts becoming more of a temptation than she can handle.... I absolutely loved this story. Watching Alicia and Nick circle each other, both knowing they shouldn't want the other, while danger lurks around the corner was an intense but fulfilling ride!

2 ⭐️ The Romance for Conservative Americans.

Since I’m neither, this book didn’t work for me. The FMC is a nurse and the MMC is an FBI agent - does it scream white, privileged, conservative American dream yet? I thought so...

The MMC in this story is supposed to be hispanic, yet the author apparently did zero research into what her characters were saying, with spelling mistakes and downright non-sensical words all over the book. "Los Matos" does not mean "The Killers", it actually doesn't mean anything... As far as I know, Matos is just a surname. That's literally it. And "Farolita" means little lantern or lamppost, not fire. I'm always so shocked when authors decide to use other languages and make characters be part of a culture they not only don't understand, but they refuse to do proper research into.

Don't get me wrong, the FMC was really likeable, and her strength and “hard-ass” attitude was so entertaining to read. Everything else, though, I could give or take. I will say, the first 50% of the book had me hooked. I liked and enjoyed the undercover story, the will they/ won’t they of it all… but everything came crushing down during the second part. From the subtle sexist dynamics, to the not-so-subtle homophobic comments, and the Christian/ God references, this book got less and less enjoyable the more I read on.

Also, what’s up with the dog thing at the end? That just came out of nowhere… it is supposed to be a literal miracle? I don’t get it.

I’m sure this is the perfect book for someone, but I’m really not that person.

Action, suspense, forgiveness, betrayal and a lot of heated chemistry! Drug dealers and corrupt law enforcement round out a strong romance full of heat, action and ultimately self-discovery and trust. Not your typical weak plotted romance.

Will be sharing full review and thoughts soon. Very excited to acquire this title and bring it to our readers.

By-the-book ER nurse Alicia Stone can spot trouble a mile away. The sex-in-combat-boots bleeding all over her porch radiates with it. Her plan to bandage him up and show him the door goes awry when a blizzard traps them in her cozy mountain cabin.

Until FBI Agent Nick Navarro can confirm the identity of the siren who saved his life, his mission is to keep his identity secret and his hands to himself. With a soul crafted by angels, a body crafted by devils, and a brand of TLC that could tempt a corpse, she’s making it difficult for him to accomplish that mission.

Alicia’s patient is secretive and cocky, sweet and sexy, and very likely a criminal. As the temperatures tumble, so do her defenses, even though she knows that falling for him will put more than her heart at risk when the bad guys who shot him show up to finish the job.
