The Housemaid’s Secret is a sequel to The Housemaid, but can be read as a stand alone. In this novel, we see Millie doing her thing! She loves helping women who are in dangerous and abusive relationships ( I won’t say anymore so I don’t spoil it).
What I love about Freida’s books is you think you have it all figured out the first time, then the second time (maybe even the third or fourth time). But NO!!! You really don’t have it figured out! Instead, you’re left with your mouth gaping wide open and asking yourself, “ What on earth did I just read?” This is what I LOVE about her books!!! The thrilling, edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting feeling as you are reading them! The Housemaid’s Secret is no different!!! I also love that the chapters are short! Reading seems to go a lot faster and I don’t have to worry about stopping in the middle of a long chapter and trying to figure out where I left off.
Frieda, please keep on writing your amazingly, awesome books!! 5 stars for The Housemaid’s Secret!!! Also, any possibility for a 3rd book in this series? Your fans would gobble it up!

Freida did not disappoint in this sequel. I do not feel you need to read the first book before this one but her books are amazing so why not.

This book finds us back with Millie living her best life, well trying. She finds herself out of a job for being too caring of a babysitter when what seems like her next perfect job lands right in her lap. She is interviewing for a cleaning position for the Garricks, the pay is great but when she soon finds out that Wendy Garrick never leaves her room and is very ill, curiosity gets the best of her. Millie vows to help this woman like she has helped so many in the past.

The Housemaid’s Secret has so many twists, and will Millie’s secrets catch up with her? You need to read this amazing story to find out.

Thanks to NetGalley, Bookoture, and Freida McFadden for the advance copy.

Freida does it again! In this followup to The Housemaid, we find Millie several years later. In the time that has passed she has helped several abused wives escape their tormenting husbands.
Now she is at the house of Douglas Garrick and, while he seems super nice on the outside, he is turning out to be one of the biggest monsters she has ever met. Millie, despite Douglas's wife's protests, knows she has to do whatever it takes to help this woman escape.
The twists and turns will give you whiplash in the best possible way!

Millie is back, working for a new family, the Garrick's, cleaning their penthouse apartment. Doug Garrick claims his wife is very ill and should be left alone. Millie gets an uneasy feeling that there is more going on behind that closed spare bedroom door, and she wants to help. In true Millie fashion she gets involved and a series of stunning events unfold. This book leaves you breathless, guessing and wanting to know just who is responsible for what. The book is an easy read, that took my mind off of real life for awhile. The plot has enough twists and turns leaving you guessing, but not lost. If you loved the Housemaid, you will love this sequel just as much!

I was fortunate enough to get “The Housemaid’s Secrets” as an ARC and I couldn’t put it down. The shirt chapters made it so easy to read and Frieda’s writing style is absolutely amazing.

Just like the first book “The Housemaid” the follow up “The Housemaid’s Secrets” had me on the edge of my seat and each chapter had me wanting to figure out what was going on. Freida is a genius when it comes to the psychological thriller genre. One thing I love about this book is that you think you have it figured out and then something else happens to make you realize you most definitely didn’t have it figured out.

One of my few 5 stars for this year and Freida took two of them!

Freida does it again! Millie is back and this sequel to the Housemaid is superb! Twists until the final page and as usual, I didn’t guess anything right and was astonished by the reveals. I was so excited to get this ARC that I read it with lightning speed. It’s clever and smart and the plot is perfect. It’s a great read and fans of Freida’s books will be very happy with this latest one!
Thanks so much to Freida and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Freida has done it again!

Millie has a heart of gold and just wants to help, but this time her helping may actually hurt her.

This book has a little bit of everything-mystery, murder, thriller, love, marriage. Did I say MURDER? I was hooked from the first page and couldn't stop devouring the pages, sleep was definitely lost.

If you haven't, DO READ The Housemaid first THEN grab the Housemaid's Secret ASAP. You will absolutely love Millie and the twists and turns she navigates throughout the book! 10/10 definitely recommend!

I am a huge fan of all of Freida McFadden’s books. Her writing style is captivating. You will find her books easy and quick to read while she still delivers breathtaking and jaw dropping twists. If you think you have it all figured out, you’re almost certainly wrong. The Housemaid’s Secret did not disappoint. This sequel to The Housemaid is an amazing story that I highly recommend.

Millie takes a housekeeping job from Douglass and Wendy Garrick. She has a feeling something is wrong and someone needs her help. How far will Millie go to help? What will it cost her?

This is another great book by Freida McFadden.

This book will make you continuously think about all the possibilities even when you have to put the book down.

As always, Freida McFadden delivers !! I did not want to put this book down.

Millie is the new housemaid for the wealthy Douglas and Wendy Garrickson. She is instructed by Douglas to not bother his wife, Wendy, as she is ill. Millie suspects something isn’t right, but what she finds is beyond what she expected.

This is my first read by this author. Somehow, I missed the first in the series when it released but I'll need to quickly remedy that. With the hype I've been hearing about this book even though its release date isn't until February of 2023 I had to give it a try. Wowie, am I ever glad I did!
In this book what you think you know, you don't. What's real, isn't. There is so much going on I had to stop reading for a bit just to absorb it all and to keep it all straight.
The suspense, the forbidden, the secrecy, the betrayal and deception. The twists and turns are roller coaster like and just as dizzying.
Don't trust anything you think you know about any of the characters, believe me you know nothing!
This new to me author is on my hot list now and I'll be checking out the rest of her books now.

As usual Freida has done it again! I am always floored by every book I read of hers. Her talent for writing these thrillers is beyond amazing.

In The Housemaid’s Secret we are reunited with Millie, who is now thirty and navigating through life. When her current job falls through, she puts out an ad, which is seen by the very wealthy Douglas Garrick who needs a maid due to his wife being very ill and bedridden.

The suspicions start to rise as Millie is spending more time at her new boss’s apartment, but is constantly told to never bother his wife. Of course Millie doesn’t listen and when she finds out Douglas is not so kind to his wife, she is most definitely getting herself involved now.

I don’t want to give too much away, even though what I’ve said already hardly even scratches the surface of what this book holds, but this is a must read. I can promise you that you will never see the twists coming and, like myself, your jaw will most likely be permanently on the floor for the better part of the second half of this book. Just when you think the bomb has dropped and you know the crazy twist, another one will be coming out of no where.

Most definitely a 5 star read!

Huge thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Such a great read! This one is the best one yet by Frieda!

This is best enjoyed after reading “The Housemaid” but can be read as a stand alone as well. In true Frieda fashion there were plenty of twists and turns along with some lighthearted humor.

This story follows Millie to her new housekeeping job for a wealthy couple.

This is a must read, but so are the rest of her books.

Wilhelmina “Millie” Calloway is back and has taken a job as a maid and cook for Doug and Wendy Garrick in their penthouse apartment. But Wendy stays shut up in her room, never coming out, and Millie begins to try to solve the mystery of this elusive woman she sees covered in bruises and crying.
But who is fooling who? And does Wendy need Millie’s help from an abusive husband?
This sequel to The Housemaid was a page turner from page one. I read it in two sittings and loved it.

WHAT DID I JUST READ? Freida does it again! This book was amazing and so hard to put down. I read it in one day. The Housemaid's Secret is wonderful sequel to The Housemaid. Millie has been helping women leave their abusive husbands since her path crossed with Nina, but she decided to take a break after her and boyfriend broke up. Millie was just looking for a job to pay the bills while she went to college. But little did she know, her next job wouldn't be as expected. Millie begins to work for the Garricks, but something doesn't feel right.

The Housemaid's Secret is about Millie who we met in the 1st book in this series The Housemaid. If you haven't read it, definitely do as it will familiarize you with the main characters and also about Millie's past. But, if you read the Housemaid you know all the twists and turns and we are thankfully gifted with in this book as well!

This book was great from start to finish and I personally thought it had a better ending that the 1st book. I highly recommend this book!

I give this book 5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and the author for an advanced copy!

..

If you wasn’t able to get an ARC, I PROMISE YOU, it’s worth the wait until February! The twist got me! I wasn’t expecting THAT! 🫣🤯

You can definitely read The Housemaids Secret as a stand alone BUT you NEED to read The Housemaid regardless.

Once again, Millie has a big heart but it always gets her in a hard place… but she always makes it right one way or another… 😏😉

Thank you for letting me be part of this! It made having the flu alittle bit better- since I got to read it in one sitting ! 👏😻

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read and review this ARC. I love Freida McFadden and every book I’ve read of hers.
The Housemaid’s Secret was a very anticipated read for me and it did not let me down. It picked up from book 1 perfectly, and we get to follow Millie on another twisty ride. Without spoilers, money can make people do crazy things.

I couldn’t wait to sit down and buckle up for another wild ride courtesy of Freida McFadden with book two of the Housemaid series. Wow! I think I’d say book two, The Housemaid’s Secret was better than book one, The Housemaid, and I really can’t say enough good about that one.

We start off with a financially struggling housemaid who stumbles upon a multi-millionaire who needs housekeeping services. While touring the massive penthouse apartment with the millionaire himself, Douglas Garrick, she is brought to a closed bedroom door. Douglas explains to her that she is not to go into that room because his wife is very ill and is not to be disturbed under any circumstances. After a few days on the job she notices some blood on one of Mrs. Garricks nightgowns, a blood trail down a hallway and hears what sounds like crying coming from behind the door. She has a bad feeling about what’s really going on behind that bedroom door. She needs to know for herself what’s going on because she knows that she can’t live with herself if a woman is possibly being abused. She decides to knock on the door but what she finds behind it will start a downward spiral of events. And as if that isn’t enough for her, she can’t shake the feeling that wherever she goes, someone is following her and she is worried for her own safety. This story has more twists than a road going through the Rocky Mountains.

Thank you Freida McFadden for yet another unputdownable story. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an early edition ARC copy to have the privilege to read and review. #NetGalley #Bookouture #TheHousemaidsSecret
