Another great book by Sarah Adam’s . Love a bad boy/ good girl storyline especially in a small town. I could barely put it down from start to finish!

- Sarah's writing never disappoints!
- contains your new favorite book boyfriend, Will Griffin!
- saw so much of myself in the main character, Annie. she loves books too!

This was just okay to me. I'm really sad that I had a middle of the road reaction to Sarah Adams writing, as I have been super interested in reading her books for a while. I'm usually really into cheesy stuff but unfortunately this type of writing did not work for me. The main character was very "I'm not like other girls" which always gives me the ick.

I think this was my favorite book by Sarah Adams! I love a bodyguard romance and this was extra fun because the love interest wasn't the person being protected. Their connection felt sweet and special. Such a great slow burn

Sarah Adam’s does it again! Absolutely adorable! I could not put this book down. The frustration of being titled “innocent” and being dismissed resonated with me. Can’t wait to see what else Rome, KY brings!

If Sarah writes it, I’m going to read it! After loving (LOVING) When In Rome, I was so excited to get a copy of this new book. I adored being back in this fictional world and I was swooning over the relationship between Annie and Will. Can Will be my new book boyfriend!? The characters had DEPTH and I couldn’t get enough. A quick read that tugs your heartstrings. Sarah does love right!!!

This was such a cute read! Annie and Will’s chemistry and banter was so fun to watch, and the small-town setting was cozy and vibrant. The writing was engaging, and I didn’t want to put the book down! I haven’t read When in Rome, but I didn’t feel lost or behind. A wonderful feel-good, closed-door romance!

Practice Makes Perfect-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Obviously I had to start Practice Makes Perfect immediately after finishing When in Rome because I just loved it so much. I think I liked this one even better! I loved the way our main Character Annie Walker really comes into her character and starts living for herself again and not for everyone around her. I also love that Will Griffin, notorious bad boy, is the one who gets her out of her shell and ends up falling for the sweet girl next door. All around the perfect cute and feel good book to get cozy and read.

I really enjoyed this one! Super cute. I fell in love with the characters and the town. I’m not a huge fake dating lover but this one was done really well. In love with Sarah’s writing!

I would read a grocery list Sarah Adams writes, so I had very high hopes going into this, and was not disappointed. I enjoy a small town fake dating romance as much as the next person, and found myself swooning over Will more times than I'd care to admit. Can't wait to see what she has out next!

CUTE! I loved the development of the main characters as the story progressed. I’m a sucker for a small town vibe so I found this book extremely cute!

For a closed door romance this book was wildly swoonworthy! You immediately fell in love with the characters and it was so fun to see the story that started in When in Rome, continue. A fun easy read that you can’t help but smile at while reading!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Random House for access to an eARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

After falling deeply in love with When in Rome for not only the story and the beautiful way Sarah Adams wove her love of Audrey Hepburn into the book but for the incredible cast of characters that fill up the little own of Rome, Kentucky, I was *so* excited to dive into Practice Makes Perfect when I got my hands on it. Annie was one of my favorite characters in the first book for her relationship with her brother and the relationship she formed with Amelia when she came to Rome, and getting to see the world through her eyes for a while was so much fun, especially as we got to learn more about her struggles as the youngest sibling and her insecurities around the concept of finding love despite how desperate she was to fall in love in the hopes it would bring her closer to her very few memories of her parents.

The love story between Annie and Will was so fun and sweet and so, so hilarious to see play out. With her wanting so badly to find her happily ever after and Will so dead set against ever falling in love and watching each of them fumble with and around their growing feelings for one another was a real treat, especially with the healthy dose of the dating tutor trope thrown in on top. I can't wait for the next book Sarah Adams writes for the series and am so, so excited to see what happens to all of my favorite people from Rome, Kentucky next.

This story was sweet and cute. Annie was maybe a little too innocent for me but it definitely had it's moments. I loved when she went and got a tattoo. Her and Will were sweet.

This was a cute book for those that enjoy a sweet romance with quirky characters and a heartwarming story. I enjoyed how the family was around and the slow burn of the romance.

Thank you so much for allowing me to read this!

I’m DNFing this at 30% for the time being. I’m unsure if I’ll finish it or not. I think it’s cute, but I don’t care enough about the characters to continue it. It just feels ok.

My favorite aspect of this book though is how the female main character is awkward, dorky, and kind of a 80 year old trapped in a 20-30 year olds body. That made me feel seen.

But I also feel like I’ve read this exact story so many times by now so it feels boring to me. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I know a lot of people who adored this book though. And the cover is super cute !

I wouldn’t tell someone to not read it, but it’s not something I would think to recommend to someone, because it’s not jumping out at me.

I hope this was helpful in some way.

Thank you so much for allowing me to have an ARC of this!

I loved this second story set in Rome. The small town townspeople, the appearance of past characters and of course Will + Annie made this story so special.

Annie was a main character I think a lot of readers will relate too in one way or another.

Another wonderful closed door romance from Sarah Adams!!

Sarah Adams is, from the bottom of my heart, one of the most underrated authors of our age. She writes hit after hit after hit, and I'm so happy she's starting to get the notice her books warrant. Practice Makes Perfect was fun, flirty, and funny, AKA the perfect combo for a weekend read. Will Griffin has all the qualities I look for in a leading man (thoughtful, hot, covered in tattoos, anyone??), and his chemistry with Annie was enough to make me swoon and smile for hours on end. I loved the banter, I loved the plot, I loved the SIZZLE. Sarah Adams writes characters you can't help but fall in love with, and I'm so excited to see what she releases next. Must-read for anyone who's a fan of bad boy x sweet angel sunshine pairings that will have you giddy-rooting for them the whole way through!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Practice Makes Perfect. This book was absolutely beautiful and reaffirm my position in the Sarah Adams fandom.
Will and Annie are one of my favorite book couples ever. Will is a walking green flag and Annie is just the cutest. I would love to be her friend. I loved When in Rome but this one is even better.
Can we have a round of applause for Will, a man who communicates, is authentic, and wants Annie to be unapologetically herself?
Standing ovation!

This book was super cute for the most part but wasn't a total win for me. Part of this is my fault. I didn't realize this was the second book in the series and while they technically can be read standalone, I feel like I missed some of the character development and them getting to know each other first to make me really appreciate it. I also really dislike some of the tropes used in this book, which again, I didn't realize were part of the book. So for me wasn't a win HOWEVER, I think it was well written and that others who have read the first and appreciate these tropes would enjoy this immensely!

Things I liked: it was super cute with the small town vibes. I liked both of the characters well enough (with a few things I didn't) and liked the overall storyline. For a book with no spice, this story had EXCELLENT tension and banter.

Things I didn't: as I said, this is the second book and I felt like I missed the introduction of these characters and their interactions with each other. We just kind of bounce in here to them reuniting but don't get the elements of first being attracted and into the other character. Plus, Will is supposed to hate commitments and he very quickly seems to fall into the obsessed and wanting commitment territory. This didn't feel really genuine to me for his character, and I wonder if I had read the first if that would have helped more.

I'm also not a fan of the virgin trope, especially when it is the innocent-girl-breaks-free-from-label-and-people-finally-take-her-seriously type story. There were a few times I found Annie to be pretty immature, especially for someone almost 30.

Also, while I love a small town story, the hijinks in this small town were too much for me. The petition and her giving a speech to them at the end made my eyes roll. Again, others could totally eat it up, but it was too corny for me.

As always with a critical review, these are my personal opinions. This is not a negative reflection of the author or other readers who liked it. This book was just not for me, but I hope others are able to read and enjoy!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
