Until Next Year is a sweet romantic comedy about Gloria and Jacob, who fall in and out of contact with each other over the course of ten years.

The story is told from dual perspectives, which is always a big win for me as I like to be able to read the thoughts and feelings of the hero as well as the heroine. Each chapter is centred around Gloria’s birthday another year on, which happens to be on New Year’s Eve, where we get to see all of the friends come to together and reconnect for this special night.

There are a lot of missed moments and opportunities for Jacob and Gloria which made my heart clench, and at times I grew frustrated with Gloria’s ways. I really wanted her to step up and learn to communicate with Jacob properly. Having said that, when they finally got together, it was worth all the frustration.

This is my first book by this author, and I’m definitely going to check out more of their work.

This didn't really work for me.
Best friends since they were young but only connecting as adults on new years with barely a text between.
Even the friends group relatio ships didn't ever feel strong enough to last without contact over an entire year. It was just ok.

This was my first book by the writing duo, and I really enjoyed it.

Told from the point of view of both characters, Until Next Year is swoon worthy in a non-sappy way. I am a dual POV girly. I love the way I got into the head of not only the MFC, but the MMC as well.
Gloria and Jacob have a piece of my heart

This book was absolutely adorable! Normally I am a thriller type of person but this romance was perfect! The characters are easy to immediately like and the story line was perfect! I found myself in every chapter rooting for Gloria and Jacob! If you like romcoms this is the book for you! It’s short, sweet, and will melt your heart!

I did not expect to love this book as much as I did!

Gloria and Jacob were so hauntingly beautiful, both wanting each other but both being afraid of the rejection of the other. year after year, birthday after birthday, I was like, ''finally, maybe on this birthday or maybe on this or no definitely on this,'' but they happened at their own time and it was perfect.

beautifully written by Michelle, each and every character stood out in their own way.

this book definitely gives the literary depiction of the saying ''timing is everything.''

An easy five-star <3

4.5 Stars. I liked this book.it was fast paced and had fun characters in it. I loved the back and forth between Gloria and Jacob, and I loved that he called her Glory and she hated it but he still did it,

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of the book.

This novel is a true testament as to what is meant to be will occur is one tries hard enough. Yes, Gloria and Jacob only saw each other regularly on NYE to celebrate her birthday but the emotional commitment never deteriorated and it is at no surprise that they fell in love. What I thought was wonderful was they strength of their friend group whether it be Everly and Daisy or Liam and Finley and how they truly wanted the best for each other. Their rendezvous at the Pooper Palace coupled by hide and seek only made it stronger.

This novella was so much fun! I loved Jacob and Gloria's friendship so much and seeing how it evolved over a ten-year period. The new year traditions and reunions were so nostalgic. Overall this was the perfect book to read in just one sitting on a snowy night, it was fun and lighthearted with the ideal amount of friendship and romance.

A quick, fun and dare I say.... EASY read?! Count me in!

I adore the characters in this book!
2 friends that are head over heels in love with one another, kept apart my time and careers, only able to get together for New Years?! ughhh. I loved everything about this book! I cannot recommend this romance enough!
I cannot wait to see what else this author has in store for us.

A lovely light hearted Christmas/New Year romantic book. Perfect for cuddling up with tea and biscuits and enjoy a bit of love, humour and family and friends all wrapped up in s great story.

When I first started reading I though it was moving a bit fast and it felt like I had jumped into the middle of a story, but then I realised that this novella is set after “Dear Pink” which I haven’t read, so I would suggest reading that first so that you might know a little bit about what’s happening. In saying that, the more the book progressed the more I started to enjoy it. I would have rated it higher but it did get a bit repetitive in each chapter and I’m not a massive fan of how the miscommunication trope was written.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an E-ARC to read and review.

The promise of a friends to lovers romance that built up over the years to one final New Year’s Eve when thwy could no longer deny their feelings. The reality was two ‘friends’ who opted to focus on their own lives and careers throughout the year who no contact with each other. Finally connecting at New Year when they spend time together. Just didn’t work for me, no build up of simmerinng emotions etc.

I think this is so cute. Not really realistic but definitely fun to read. The characters are interesting to follow and you're rooting for them the whole time. I love friends to lovers and this was adorable.

I review of this book has been posted on my good reads as well. I’ve never read anything by this author before but it was so good. The whole friendship group were amazing together and their individual friendships were amazing to. There was a lot going on but not to much to the point where it would confuse you. I can’t wait to read more books written by this author

'Until Next Year' was a frustrating book for me to finish. I kept going because i wanted to know how it ended, and I enjoyed the ending of the book. The two main characters, Gloria and Jacob, were both incredibly frustrating, and I really wasn't invested in their friendship/relationship. I found it hard to believe that they wouldn't try to talk to each other for an entire year, and they still considered themselves to be friends because they saw each other every New Year's Eve. I like the concept of the book, but the execution was hard to comprehend. There were too many characters, and more characters were added on each New Year's Eve, which made things even more confusing for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for an ARC of this novella.

Until Next Year by Michelle Angelle was a cute quick read.
An easy slow-burn holiday romance with plenty of festive cheer.
I enjoyed the characters and the setting.
My first time reading Angelle's work which I thought the writing was done well.
I will definitely be checking out the first book I'm this set.

A rock star and a ballerina have been friends for decades.... Both are in love with each other but life, careers, time got in the way.... They get together only once at new year.

Love Gloria and Jacob together. So happy whenever they are getting close! A terrific holiday read.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

I think I have an unpopular with this one because I didn’t love it … It’s pitched as a friends to lovers romance but I don't think you can really call it that.

The two main characters don’t speak for 364 days of the year and we essentially just jump from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Eve for 10 years! The constant and total lack of communication between Gloria and Jacob in this story really got under my skin and unfortunately made it unenjoyable to read.

I don’t know if you would consider someone a friend who you intentionally ghost for 364 days of the year only to meet up for one night and ignore each other most of the time anyway. The potential for something great was there but I think it fell short on the execution unfortunately. The childhood friendship was established well, however as adults it was’t what I would call a maintained friendship by no manner of means.

Two or three times Gloria or Jacob would make the wrong assumption about the other so they would just completely cut contact for the whole year only to pick up right where they left off the following NYE?! It just wasn’t believable to me - I’m sorry. It felt juvenile and it lacked substance for me. I would have preferred they just confront each other like normal adults and sort it out.

I'm sorry but this was definitely not a believable romance for me.
