I loved how scared this freaky WEBTOON had me and so when I got the chance to read it again but as a book of course I jumped… to turn on the lights and prep my comfort cartoon for when I finished this volume. Once again just as good as the first time.

I was originally introduced to this story from the WEBTOON app and I was excited to see this come together in the form of a graphic novel.

In this story we are following the lives of the couple Sam and Maggie who try to appear as if everything is fine even though that is far from the truth. Due to their lives being heavily surveil-lanced with cameras and peering neighbors, they are one wrong move away from dark repercussions. When Maggie’s neighbor Charles tries to escape the watchful eyes this town is succumbed to Maggie is curious and gets herself involved in actions of resistance.

Despite the horror/thriller nature of this story the character design is simple and cute coupled with a very generic setting in a seemly normal suburban-like town. I think all these elements together brings a interesting sense duality to story.

When reading this book there is a build up of tension created with the dialogue and paneling leaving you questioning what words or information are unspoken. By the end of this story you may be left confused and with unanswered questions but I think that this was an intentional decision to capture your interest and leaving the reader wanting to know what happens next.

Can’t wait for part 2!

Thank you WEBTOON Unscrolled via NetGalley for this ARC!

Note: I usually read on Kindle or through the kindle app. Their were formatting issues with the conversion of the e-file to a kindle file that made this ebook very hard to read. I downloaded the NetGalley app to see the correct formatting of this book.

I read this through an webtoon app before I got this copy and I absolutely loved the horror and psychological genre that this webtoon brings. It gives me the chills as well as gives me the vibe of "behind a perfect neighbor couple there is always something dark."

Horror comics is not my typical genre. Honestly, I don’t think I have ever read a horror comic. This one was fantastic! That being said, it’s less of gruesome horror, but more of a suspense/psychological horror. I wanted to compare it with the WebToons version and this was a great presentation of the WebToons comic that I would definitely say is as good of a transition as Lore Olympus.

Your relationship is wonderful (monotonous), your neighbours are friendly (watching) and life is perfect (controlled)

And remember… everything is fine (forget).

This is the coolest thing I’ve read in awhile! A totally interesting concept that blends horror and dystopia. The less you know about this going in, the better. All I can say is, go read it because I’m about to go binge the webtoon after reading volume 1.

Sam and Maggie live the perfect dream: a house, a happy marriage, and a their lazy dog Winston. Everything is fine, right?

I initially heard about this webtoon through a YouTuber, and the bit he explained made me immediately interested. I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed.

Absolutely engaging and I’m completely invested in the story. Checks all the boxes that will keep me coming.

Thank you NetGalley for the free/review copy!

There was something intriguing about this book that made me want to keep reading. I liked the contrast between the adorably cute characters and the dark underpinnings of the story. I’ll keep an eye out for volume two because I was left on a cliffhanger with this one. What is going on behind the innocent and saccharine facade of the neighborhood?

This series is so, SO good. I got this off Netgalley but I’m also just a fan of the webtoon in general and I think this series is amazing. Reading the first volume again was awesome - there’s so many questions, but you get a small glimpse of what’s going on, it’s so unsettling, and the vibe is just fantastic. I do wish we got ever slightly more information in the first book, but I get why we don’t at the same time - it’s an arc and there’s more in the series. I’m looking forward to what this series is going to do next.

Mike Birchall's clean and pleasant art style perfectly juxtaposes the horrific world he's created, resulting in this genuinely unsettling comic. Gripping from the very first page, "Everything is Fine" is impossible to put down. I will be anxiously awaiting the sequel.

Thank you so much to the Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group and to NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC; it is greatly appreciated.

So this started off as a Webtoon Comic, but is now being published in a graphic novel format like Heartstopper and Lore Olympus were. However, this is a completely different genre ! I will probably have to find the webtoon to read, because I am very intrigued in where this story is going, as this volume ended on a rather huge cliffhanger.

It seemingly takes place in a dystopian society where everything is monitered à la Big Brother in the book 1984. At the beginning I actually thought these were supposed to be cat people, as in those are actually their heads, but we quickly find out they are simply masks that everyone has to constantly wear. There is constant talk of, "We must forget", and it's slowly revealed what that actually means. There is a lot of subtle horror and tension, as the characters fight with themselves to be these perfect beings.

Overall, I find this to be really well done. The way it handles the horror and reveals is done in one of my favorite styles. The masks everyone wears are expressionless, yet you can 100% feel what the characters are thinking and feeling. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for future volumes !

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
This is a subtle horror, a la The Stepford Wives to the extreme. All members of the family are fine, as are the neighbors, in fact, everyone is fine. Sam and Maggie live a perfect life in a perfect home until Maggie starts to crack.
While some elements of the story were expected, overall I was surprised and enjoyed it. I definitely did not expect the ending and want to read what comes next.
This is a good story for anyone interested in horror.

When I saw they were coming out with physical copies of this webtoon, I was so excited! The art style is so cute, but the lore is so fascinating and enriching. The story leaves you at the edge of your seat with each page, and I'm honestly excited for where this series will go. Check this out if you are a huge horror fan.

Everything Is Fine is about a wife, a husband, their friendly neighbors, and the dystopian surveillance state that is controlling their - excuse me. What am I saying? None of that was real. Just a joke. Everything is Fine. FINE.

This book contains half of the first "season" and sets up everything. After reading it, I was curious and continued via WebToons. The second half of the first "season" is absolutely bonkers and amazing and I'm now so invested in this series.

Do not walk. Run. Pick up a copy of this book, as soon as it releases.

I absolutely love this little graphic novel. The artwork is awesome and cute, but the story is evil and scary. I think that concept worked well in this book. It is amazing what can be said with pictures. Truly a fantastic book. I just didn't want the cliffhanger. I look forward to the next book!!

Thank you #NetGalley and Wattpad WEBTOON for letting me read and review #EverythignisFineVolumeOne

Review to come in May 2023 on blog/goodreads.

I received this graphic novel from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

So, I really really wanted to read this one. And I can tell you that I have a lot of feelings. Conflicting. Headache. WHAT THE F is going on. Wait...hold on. And more like these. I am still not sure if I liked this one. I mean, it just felt very weird and at times I was very much disturbed. And as the story went on, it was got more and more disturbing and WTF.

In this graphic novel we follow a married couple, they go about their days. Sounds nice right? Well, now imagine that they are wearing huge cat masks/hats/whatever you call it. And that things are definitely not fine. Right from the bat we see that Winston, their cute dog.. well. That was just a no. And I was like, wait how can you NOT see that? WTF? What did you do? And then there is the neighbourhood outside. The stores only carry simplistic products. Someone buys all the foil. The neighbours are all happy and preppy and everything is fine. Oh, and there are cameras. Sometimes when something happens a red light goes on inside of those mask/hats. And there are more hints at things. It was at times very interesting, but because we barely got anything on WHY or WHAT I just got a bit bored (plus that dinner conversation just had me yawning) + also very confused. I would have liked to see some flashbacks. Like how it was before? Maybe some more hints to before? ANYTHING I would have taken at this point. Hand me something. I mean, by the time we got some hints... I was already so disturbed and thinking about DNF-ing the book that I wasn't interested in them anymore.

Also, given how people reacted to that person's cellar I thought he had a torture chamber or something else horrific there.. but the truth? Well, I won't spoil it, but it was way more boring than that.

The ending suddenly went in full rollercoaster mode. Which just felt a bit rushed to me. Especially given that ENDING. Holy FUCK.

I am sorry if my review is chaotic as heck. It is already much better than my first review: "What the actual fuck did I just read. My headache, already persistent since last night, has decided to hold a house party in my head now. Thanks. I am so confused. So utterly confused. Cat-head wearing humans in a dystopian setting with death? Gore? Murder? Disappearances????? EHHHH?????? Weird so weird. Not sure what to think. That ending. DA FUCK."  As you can see, this review is much better. Haha. XD

I am not entirely sure if I would recommend it. But hey, if you are into weird dystopian cat masks stuff with confusing stuff? Check it out I guess. XD

3.5

i’m really excited to be getting a webtoon’s arc. i’ve been seeing this one around, and i’ve heard so, so much praise about it. i had only read the first few chapters, but i’d never gotten past that point. this was really good and creepy. however, this was also really confusing for me at times and some parts. so, i’m really curious about the next volume, considering i also haven’t even read this on the webtoon app (which means i don’t know what happens). this was really cool, though.

thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC !!

I went into this one blind other than the title and the cover. I am not sure what I was expecting, and truthfully I am not sure exactly what I read. It was dark and twisty and very mysterious coveted in a candy coated shell.
Though more simplistic than my usual tastes I enjoyed the art style. And while definitely darker/dystopian I am intrigued as to what the heck is actually happening.

Recommended, but not to my usual people, recommended to people who prefer darker/dystopian stuff.

I... Am uncertain how to feel about this book, but as a stand alone, I'm gonna give it's 2.5

For the good stuff - It was compelling. I read it in one go, and I didn't feel like stopping. Having everyone's speech bubbles colour coded was also cool, I liked that. I know this is a webtoons originally, so the nice thing is that I wouldn't need to wait for more.

I however am so god damn confused. I spent literally the entire thing being confused. As far as I can tell, it's a dystopian society where you don't remember bad things that happen? But I don't understand anything past that. Could it be good? Sure. But this left far too much in my hands to decide what everything meant, and I didn't like that. It was a big turn off for me.

It is impossible to describe the absolute brilliance that is Everything is Fine. This story is deeply unsettling as only the most well executed horror can be. It inspired the mind to chase down rabbit holes as you try to guess what is coming next (and yet you never will). This story is incredible!
