I really enjoyed the book. Christina Lauren know what they’re doing. I was a little conflicted about the authors telling a story from the perspective of a Chinese woman, but I hope they did it sensitively.

The true love experiment is a sequel to the soulmate equation that I had no idea about. I feel like you didn’t need to read that first book to feel connected to the characters.

Thank you to netgalley & gallery books for the arc!

The true love experiment follows our main female lead fizzy (side character from the first book) who is an amazing and well known romance author. She stands out like crazy. She is fun, adventurous, funny and sexy! Something I love about her. Fizzy is such a big flirt and honestly a good person to banter with. She will definitely keep you laughing and on your toes each chapter.

Conner prince is our British male love interest. He is caring, sweet, loving and a single father. He makes documentaries and is forced to make a reality tv show to stay close to his daughter Stevie. The only person he can think of is our wonderful fizzy to be the lead of the up and coming reality tv show.

The suspense and tension these two give us is to die for! The forbidden love everyone needs to read. Definitely a fave romance of 2023.

Amazing. Truly amazing.
I loved The Soulmate Equation, and this book was no different.
I will be honest, in the first 1/3 of the book I was not a fan of Fizzy. I thought she was rude and bitchy. But, I had trust in Christina Lauren and she came through!
As an avid reader of romance I always secretly cringe when the main character is a romance author for some unknown reason, but this story was beautifully done and after my initial dislike, I absolutely loved Fizzy. Conner was perfect. He was a true romance novel hero in every aspect.
I will absolutely recommend this book to everyone, always! 10/10 would recommend!!!

I absolutely loved it! It was fresh and funny, and I couldn’t put it down! Fizzy’s character was so much fun; she’s charismatic, honest, bold, hilarious, you get it! And Connor is sweet and sexy! The premise of the book was also so different and entertaining!

CLo hits it out of the park again with another incredible book. I loved Fizzy's story so much, especially as a woman of color who loves romance. She's a strong character who was perfectly balanced by Connor and I really loved all of the Jess/River cameos. I'll definitely be getting a final copy when it's out!

Thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for access to this advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion. The True Love Experiment will be released on May 10, 2023.

This book is a love letter to romance readers all around...and book I found so joyful to read as a romance reader. She was filled with banter, delightful characters, and a British single dad I would date in a heartbeat.

Things I Love: the premise took a spin on a reality dating show, making it one I would love to read. I loved this banter everything from steamy flirting to laugh out loud hysterics. Fizzy was such a unique and amazing heroine. I just adored Connor and his whole cinnamon roll personality.

This book had major elements of the two MCs of the Soulmate Equation, while this is technically a standlaone, I would suggest reading before you read this one. This book was for the readers and our love for Fizzy as a side character.

I really wanted to like this book since I typically enjoy Christina Lauren's book. I enjoyed the premise - a romance book author is cast on a reality dating show. Will her real life romance be as amazing as her books? That said, I struggled with this book because of the excessive use of profanity and of graphic sexual detail. If that doesn't bother you, then you might enjoy it more than I did. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

WOW did I devour this. I loved the soulmate equation and couldn’t wait for Fizzy’s book, and it still blew me away. Fizzy and Connor might be one of my ultimate favorite couples. this book is one of Christina Lauren’s best, and I cannot wait to be able to have it on my shelf. I’ll be reading this again immediately.

Connor is my new book boyfriend, and I’m in love with him.

I loved it and immediately downloaded the one before and then will probably get all the rest. I love Fizzy and I’m pretty sure I’ve had some of the exact conversations that she has with my friends (they are welcome)

I had such a fun time! This wasn’t that original, but I had a fun time reading a slow burn. This definitely was hotter than soulmate equation, but was pretty much the exact same plot. I would sell my soul for Connor though.

The only parts of this plot that I was frustrated by was that it felt repetitive. There was a lot of back and forth in the relationship and both main characters repeatedly had the same thoughts. However, this didn't make it a miss for me - I will recommend this book to everyone who read and loved The Soulmate Equation. I loved that there wasn't a miscommunication between the two love interests and, along with Soulmate Equation, the diverse cast & adults with children as the main characters. It makes a predictable plot refreshing and exciting.

OMFG. BURY ME WITH THIS BOOK.

I’ve read all of Christina Lauren’s stand-alone novels and this is my new favorite! Soulmate equation was my former #1 fave… I love this world.

What I loved…
- DILF, just love normalizing parents in romance (also just love having kids in books and seeing protagonists as multifaceted people
- unique take on reality TV, felt fresh and new
- the chemistry and tension!! Also felt the falling out was realistic and not overdone
- loved the ending
- the focus on finding someone who brings out the best in you and you enjoy

5 big stars

I had access to this as an ARC through Netgally. I loved it! Christina Lauren's books are great. The main character was entertaining and I loved that they played with so many romance love interest tropes.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC–this book broke me out of a reading slump!

Christina and Lauren are seriously at the top of their game and one of the strongest and most enjoyable writers of this genre. This book ticked a lot of boxes for me. Loved the concept and the characters. Their work always feels like it's about real humans with real problems and always seem to come at the perfect time as I'm thinking about similar issues!

I will say that, unfortunately, I found the plot a little frustrating here. The set-up worked, but the engine of the novel as a whole didn't engross me as some of their other books have done. But overall, a truly enjoyable read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC! I was very excited to read this because 1, I love the authors, and 2, we were getting a sequel to “ The Soulmate Equation. “ This did not disappoint. I absolutely loved it. Fizzy and Connor’s love story felt like a warm blanket. All of that chemistry and tension! I definitely think the first book should be read first, but it’s not 100% necessary.

I’m so excited this was my second advanced Christina Lauren book (after Something Wilder last year, which I didn’t love or hate). This time around, I’m so happy to say The True Love Experiment was so fun from top to bottom and I loved reading it, so much so that I took it slowly to savor it.

The True Love Experiment picks up from The Soulmate Equation with Fizzy as the heroine here. Fizzy is a romance writer, which makes her conversations about the genre extra fun for readers. When she’s asked to star on a dating show, things get complicated as she grows closer to her producer.

I loved the story here and the characters. For the first time in a long time (ever?), I enjoyed the “things fall apart” section of the story because it felt genuinely emotional and was paced differently than is typical of romance. The only fault of this was that I felt like Connor’s Britishness was forced and felt very written by Americans.

So glad for this one to go out into the world!

I love these authors! This latest book did not disappoint! I loved it so much and it was perfect to start the new year! Thank you for combing my rom-com love with my reality tv love! :)

Reading this book felt like watching my best friend fall in love. I loved all of the nods to the genre and seeing a heroine be completely unapologetic about her healthy sex life and past relationships. I would love to watch every season of Fizzy and Connor’s story.

Thank you, NetGalley for early access to this fantastic book!

This book is truly a love letter to romance readers and has quickly become one of my favorite books.

I can not wait to buy a physical copy this spring!

This book was clever and wee-written, but very predictable. That’s not a bad thing for a romcom though. You 2ant them to end up happy at the end.
