Wow wow wow wow wow. I mean wow.
This book was so freakin good!! It’s my new favorite of Daniel’s and that’s saying something. It was a really exciting plot and I had no idea where it was going. I was thrown for a loop, and then another one.

Daniel Hurst is one of my favourite authors and this new book certainly didn’t disappoint.
I couldn’t put it down once I started it and found it fast paced and well developed.
As with his other books, there were plenty of twists throughout that kept me guessing and it delivered a fantastic ending.
A great read and one that I’d definitely recommend.

The ending is great and all the twists and turns.

The Doctor's Wife by Daniel Hurst-psychological thriller 1st Feb BO NG 4*
Drew and his wife have just moved to a rural seaside village. His wife Fern thinks it is because of the pressures he was under working in a town- a place she loved. Drew however has his own agenda- an affair he had a while back with Alice who also lives in the new village but doesn’t know of their arrival. The book begins with Fern watching an incident on the beach. Fern has a secret that Drew doesn’t know about. Can Drew rekindle Alice and will Fern find out?
I enjoyed this, it's an entertaining read and my first book by this author. I would definitely read more of his work in the future as this kept me turning the pages, ever more determined to find out what happened- to me the real skill of a seasoned author. There’s an unpredictability about both the plot and some of the characters-to me a real psychological thriller! An entertaining read with a twist or two.

Just read The Doctor's Wife which was requested through Netgally for an honest review.

I have read lots of Daniel Hurst books and this one definitely did not disappoint.
The book is written from the perspective of Drew, the Dr and his wife, Fern who both have their own secrets changing from Drew to Fern from chapter to chapter.

Well written book, I found this difficult to want to put down and read over 2 days, I love the writing style as you feel you are going on the journey with the characters, the storyline flowed very well and set you up for the twists towards the end, which just kept you guessing and then dropping another bomb right at the end with the epilogue.

Happy to give this book 5 stars another brilliant read from the author.

“The Doctor’s Wife” is a thriller by Daniel Hurst. This book tells the story of two couples - Alice and Rory and Drew and Fern. Both couples used to live in Manchester, but independently have moved to a small village. There’s a reason and it becomes clear pretty soon why. The story is told in two POVs - Fern’s and Drew’s. I found including Drew’s POV to be a nice touch. This was an entertaining good read and I read it pretty quickly. I did figure out the main twist (note: I've been reading a number of thrillers lately ...) and even had a suspicion about the final epilogue twist - but I can see for some these being curveballs. The writing style was engaging, so I’d pick up another book by this author if it wandered across my path.

Happy Tuesday!!
There is a snow storm headed my way here in Michigan! Snow storms are perfect to just hide inside and read! They are scary too! My husband has a few days left of work and my brother in law is flying here to spend Christmas with us! So fingers crossed the weather cooperates and it’s not going to be as bad as their saying it’s going to be! Here’s a book that I read recently and loved it’s available on netgalley it doesn’t publish until January 2023!!
Review-

In a marriage whose keeping secrets from who??
That’s the question in Fern and Drew’s marriage.
On the surface Fern and Drew appear to have it all, he’s a doctor and she stays home. Looking for a more laid back schedule and a fresh start, they move to a small town and purchase a gorgeous home that looks over the sea. Fern knows her husband is keeping a secret from her, he thinks he’s getting away with it and he has no idea she knows. Fern plans to keep it that way until the perfect moment to drop the bomb on him and he has no idea how dark and evil the woman he married truly is! Wow I loved this we get Fern and Drew’s POV, we follow as the secret is revealed. I couldn’t get over Ferns character she was crazy! This was a perfect read to get me out of my book slump!

The Doctor's Wife by Daniel Hurst
(Book review)

I have enjoyed several of Daniel Hurst's books, but The Doctor's Wife blew me away. Readers are kept guessing with plenty of red herrings in this cunning story. I love a well-written thriller and Hurst delivers.

Synopsis:
Doctor Drew Devlin and his wife Fern have just moved into a fabulous beachfront home. Although Drew is respected publicly, privately he is not the highly regarded man he pretends to be.

Drew and Fern are looking for a fresh start and want to leave the past behind. They seem to be having a good time until Fern discovers that Drew has been lying to her again. It is true that he is a master manipulator, but has he underestimated Fern this time around?

The Doctor's Wife by Daniel Hurst is available on January 31st.
(4.25 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫)

Thank you to #NetGalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for the opportunity to read an advance copy of THE DOCTORS WIFE, to be published 31 January 2023. This domestic thriller started out slow and built to an unbelievable crescendo. It’s written from two points of view - the wife and her doctor husband, and occurs during about a year and a half of their marriage. Daniel Hurst fans will likely eat this up. It covers the affected period of relationship in the marriage of the doctor and his wife. Great read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC! This is my second read by Daniel and I love how he writes his thrillers. The Doctors Wife is a perfect domestic thriller! I read this in one afternoon because I HAD to find out what happened. I did predict one of the twists, but regardless it was great!

The Doctor's Wife

Thank you so much to @danielhurstbooks, @bookouture and @netgalley for this advanced copy!

What to say? Hmmm. Daniel Hurst once again delivers a truly shocking and fantastic story. I didn't even read the description, so I went in blindly but it's a Daniel Hurst book, so there's that. If you like rollercoasters, strap yourself in, cause you're in for a wild ride full of twists and turns, lies and deceit. I feel this is one of his best books, and that's saying alot because he has written some amazing stories!

Synopsis:
Fern and Drew have been married for quite some time. She's living the life of a doctor's wife, while he's living a lie.

What's the lie? Well you'll find that out when you read the book. Giving away that will take away from the story.

Anyway, Drew tells Fern he needs to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and wants to start fresh. So after some time he talks Fern into moving from the city to a small town about 200 miles away, where he will be the village doctor, which will help him with the slow down, he's looking for.

Little does Fern know the real reason for the move, or does she? If Drew can have a secret why can't Fern?

Lots of surprises are heading your way in this book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Doctor Drew Devlin is having an affair with Alice. His wife, Fern and her husband Rory have no idea.
Alice breaks up with Drew, and she and her husband move to a village, and Drew is devastated. He is obsessed with Alice and he persuades Fern to relocate with him to the same village, so that he can hopefully pick up where he left off with Alice.

He doesn't realise that the affair is not a secret anymore. How can you keep such a secret in a tiny village?

This book had a lot of potential, but I really was slightly disappointed, as I did not feel Fern's anger or grief when she found out about the affair. All that I can think of, is that the book is written by a male, who cannot in any way write about the devastation that a woman feels in this position. I am sure men also have deep feelings of betrayal when they are in the same position, but I feel Daniel Hurst has missed the mark in this book. The feeling of rage, anger, shame and revenge just don't show through.
All in all, the book was good, but I expected a lot more.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love a good domestic thriller and this one was a lot of fun! It was fast paced, easy and engaging read. I enjoy Daniel Hurst's writing style and story-telling, which is why this is the 3rd book of his I've read and will certainly read more.

I figured out a couple of the twists, but the last two were a surprise and I really enjoyed them! I would have loved to be in Fern's mind a little more and get the situation (no spoiler) fleshed out with more detail and capturing a bigger chunk of the story that way. Overall, a good read, that I finished in less than 24hrs.

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for giving me the opportunity to read “The Doctor’s Wife” in exchange for an honest review.

I will definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned.” - William Congreve

While it’s true that a good doctor has job security, this peace of mind doesn’t always extend to his personal life. Relationship dependability requires both partners to put in effort. Trouble is, Dr. Drew Devlin has been investing time and ‘practicing’ elsewhere. He’s also cocky enough to believe he has everyone wrapped around his little finger.

I loved this deliciously wicked exploration into the thrill and unpredictability involved when someone believes he/she is getting away with something that nobody else knows about. My heart was pounding, I had a Cheshire cat sized grin plastered on my face and I definitely let an evil cackle or two escape while reading! Daniel Hurst is an auto-read author for me because he always delivers a fast-paced, believable and heart thumping suspense. This book showcases Hurst at the top of his game.

This book offers up the perfect sized helping of ‘just desserts.’

I was gifted this copy by Bookouture and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

I absolutely adore thriller novels. The author did an amazing job of really getting the audience a clear picture of the settings. I almost felt like I could see what the characters were seeing. Truly enjoyed the way the book was written. Definitely a page turner!

I loved this book!!! This was my type of thriller- binge worthy, not full of fluff, and several twists (some of which I did NOT see coming)! Writing style made this one so easy to read and now I can’t wait to check out Hursts’ backlist!
