📚Book Review 📚⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Doctor’s Wife by Daniel Hurst

Dr. Drew and his wife Fern have it all, including secrets from each other. Drew decides it’s time for them move to a quiet town and away from the hustle of the city. What Drew isn’t telling Fern are his real motives but Fern is no ordinary housewife. Oh the deception 🫣🍿

Told from dual point of views, we the reader are given great insight early on to things normally given much later but in doing so this early, we get to watch a predator stalk it’s prey all the while an apex predator looms in the distance!!

I read this book in January and forgot to post a review! Thank you SO much #NetGalley #bookouture and #danielhurst for the ARC! I can’t wait to get my hands on the second installment!!! 🤗

4 solid stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another awesome page-turner by Daniel Hurst! This is only the second book I’ve read by him, but I tell ya - I can’t wait to read more!

I kinda figured out parts of the twists before they unfolded, but not all of them. This one is filled with lies, betrayal and revenge. The ending was great! Short chapters make for a quick read that was definitely not short on entertainment.

Highly recommend for my thriller loving friends!

Another enjoyable read from Daniel Hurst. Drew, a doctor, and his wife Fern move from busy Manchester to live in a quiet border village of Aberness. It was Drew’s suggestion as he tells Fern that he will be able to spend more time with her living there. We soon realise that Drew has an ulterior motive. He had been having an affair with Alice and when she called an end to their relationship he was devastated and decided that if he moved to Aberness, where Alice and her husband had moved to, he may be able to rekindle their affair. But Drew doesn’t realise that Fern is aware of this and when they move she goes out of her way to befriend Alice and her husband and will stop at nothing to get her revenge. This book had me hooked from the first page with its gripping storyline and surprising twists. An excellent read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book,

I loved this book! Daniel Hurst has now become an auto read author. I devoured this book quickly. I became obsessed with the many shocking twists sprinkled throughout this enticing thriller. This book has it all. Betrayal, deception and enough secrets to go around. I was immediately immersed in the world of Fern and Drew. The perfect couple to onlookers, but we all know appearances can be deceiving. I couldn’t get enough of this wickedly entertaining story. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy.

I thought the book started off a little slow, but the plot picked up and by the middle was definitely hard to put down. One thing I liked about the story is that there are four main characters. So the storyline is really simple to follow. Having said that, there are twists to the story that you don't expect. I also love stories told from alternating POV which makes it very entertaining. And in a little betrayal and revenge, and you have a perfect book. I would highly recommend if you enjoy domestic thrillers. This is my first Daniel Hurst book, I will be looking for his other books.

Thank you, Netgalley and Bookoutour for this ARC.

As usual another absolute cracker of a read from Daniel. Short snappy chapters to keep my interest. He writes books I don't want to put down.

Wow !! This was a brilliant read and I raced through it in an afternoon
Fern is married to a Dr , she seems to have the perfect life , and when he persuades her to move away form Manchester for a more idyllic life , he doesn't realise that his wife knows he has followed Alice with whom he was having an affair , she broke off the affair to try to fix her marriage but Drew does not accept that she would leave him , what happens is a massive whirlwind of lies , mistrust and an ending with a twist I really didn't see coming .
A sequel please !!!!!!!
5 stars for entertainment

I really loved the beginning and end of this book, along with the plot. It seemed to drag on a bit in the middle.

This author is a new for me but this certainly didn't disappoint. This book is told from 2 different view points, Dr Drew and his wife Fern.

Whilst working as a very busy GP in Manchester, Drew is also having a secret affair with Alice. However Alice suddenly announces she is leaving Manchester to focus on her marriage with husband Rory.

Struggling to cope with the end of the relationship Drew decides to follow Alice. He is surprised when Fern readily agrees with the move. Little does he know Fern has known all along about the affair and is out for revenge.

This story is full of multiple twists and turns and an ending I would never have predicted.
Highly recommend a read and I look forward to future novels by this author.

This book was ok…a bit of a twist in how everything came about. I felt some sympathy for the wronged people, but not entirely. I liked the ending..

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is told from two perspectives, that of Drew Devlin and his wife, Fern. Right off the bat, I was not a fan of his character. He's way too cocky and self-assured. He thinks everything will go the way he wants in a way that almost comes across as stalkerish. I also started out feeling sorry for Fern, but my thoughts on that changed rather quickly. There was a whole lot of devious plotting in this book, and I couldn't put it down once I got into it. Some of the twists were predictable, but the way they were written kept me immersed in the story from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this one to others who like this type of story!

Wow, this was quite the page turne. I read the entire book in one day because I couldn't get enough of this. Domestic thrillers are my absolute favorite genre and this was one of the best I've read in a while. The characters were deliciously wicked, cunning, and also naive in a lot of ways. The ending twist was a real treat, and I would love to see a sequel written based on it. I did suspect Rory's part in the plan before it was actually revealed and I was so happy I was right because it was such a wicked sense of justice. I did not see Rory's journey happening the way it did but when you look at Fern's character as a whole, it made a lot of sense why things happened the way they did. The only thing I would have liked a bit more of is Alice's character development and the development of the relationship between the two women as friends. I would have loved to see that play out a bit more. I am looking forward to more from Daniel Hurst in the future. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first by this author and while it started off slow for me, it eventually picked up and kept me super intrigued. There was a lot of twists which I enjoyed, but I’d be lying if I said I liked Fern, one of the main characters. Overall a page turner once things picked up and I would definitely read more by this author!

Not my favourite of Hursts books because it started with the prologue so I guessed what would happen but if you skip that part, the writing is amazing and the book races past you - he's an awesome thriller writer.

A tense and fast paced read that I read in one sitting. Well written with a gripping storyline and well developed characters. Twisty and unpredictable, I couldn't put it down.
