All I can say is wow! This book was hard to put down. It was a little slow for me in the beginning but once it took off, I was hooked! So many twists and I really liked the ending.

Wow what a ride this book was. A seemingly straightforward plot that went completely off the rails.
A super fast and easy read and I’m super excited to read more of Daniels Books.

Doctor Drew Devlin and his wife Fern seem the perfect couple but one of them is cheating and the other wants revenge.

Thie is a fabulous story about deception and revenge with many wonderful and unexpected twists. Dr Drew and Fern have just moved house from the busy city to a small quiet village. Both are hiding big secrets that they keep to themselves until Fern decides that Drew's lies have been going on too long. Seeking revenge, she carefully plots and plans and fulfills her need to change the course of their lives. Going back six months before their move another big twist and OMG this is a big one. And they just keep coming one after another. It is a great story from start to finish - maybe Daniel Hurst's best book yet. Highly recommended. Once started you won't want to put it down.

What a rollercoaster of a book! My first impressions were I didn’t like Drew he comes over as being very selfish and self centred whereas Fern appears weak and very meek, was I wrong! Drew and Fern move from the city to a rural practice. Drew has an agenda but what about Fern? So many twists and turns along the way . Each chapter is written as Drew or Fern’s view on their life. And the ending , just wow! It is an easy read which I couldn’t put down. At the end it says ‘ if The Doctors Wife had you reading late in ti the night ……..! Learn more about Daniel Hurst. It certainly did and I will! Brilliant!

This book will really capture your attention. It is told from two points of view. Fern and her cheating husband, Drew…*ahem*…Dr. Drew. He thinks she is so gullible and naive but he has no idea! I think this might be my first Daniel Hurst novel? It definitely won’t be my last!

I really could not put this book down, stayed up till 2 am reading it. Well written, and very descriptive. Is it lonely living in a small village, you ask yourself? Well, my experience is no, but could easily relate to Fern in her feelings.
Aberness/eagerness is quite appropriate in a place setting.

Looking forward to more books from Daniel Hurst

Fern's husband, Drew, is a charming doctor, and everybody trusts him... but her. He is not as respectable as he may seem. And the only reason she agreed to follow him in his move to a remote village was to get a new start... but he is still lying, and she is determined to make him pay.
This was such an entertaining page turner of a psychological thriller! It was a short read (less than 300), easily read in one sitting. When I thought I had predicted every twist, the author sends more my way. It was just as twisted as I liked them!
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I was able to be pulled into this book right away although I did have trouble staying focused as there was a lot of extra words describing the characters thoughts.
It kept me interested enough but I found the ending to be really random and far fetched. Overall I gave this book 3 stars.

Dr Drew Devlin thinks he is so smart and covering his tracks so well that no one will know about his affair with Alice. Unfortunately for him his wife Fern knows and so does Alice's husband, Rory. Drew doesn't want to give Alice up so he decides to move to get close to her.

Fern plays along and is willing to test her husband to see if he has changed. Fern manages to keep a level head and devise a plan to get back at Drew. After all the game isn't over.

I love a woman with a plan and so I was rooting for Fern and she did not disappoint. This was first book I have read by this author but I will be looking for more.

The story is written from two perspectives from two main characters who are married: Fern and Drew. They’re a manipulative and toxic couple who are hiding their own secrets from one another. I got The Perfect Marriage vibes when reading this book but this one is more sinister. I gave The Perfect Marriage 5 stars but The Doctor’s Wife has more depth to the story, in my opinion, and I also give this book 5 stars! The author, Daniel, added a prologue which explains Drew’s fate right off the bat but still managed to surprise me and add in some unforeseen twists that I enjoyed. He also has a nice letter at the end of the book where he gives his thanks and has a free psychological thriller that you can download for free from his website. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing the e-ARC for an honest review.

I also want to point out 2 grammatical errors I found in this e-ARC while reading on my kindle. 1. Loc 1242 “Drew shrugs before telling AGAIN ME he’s fine.” 2. Loc “‘Are you feeling ok?’ I ask Rory. ‘If not, Drew could have a HAVE A look at you.’”

Daniel Hurst, the king of twisted domestic suspense, returns following The Couple in the Cabin and The New Year's Party with his latest, THE DOCTOR'S WIFE —a wickedly twisted game of cat-and-mouse between two couples, where nothing is as it appears. Unreliable narrators.

Is The Perfect Marriage the Perfect Illusion? Can they trust one another?

WIFE: Pretty. Pleasant. Naive. Meek and mild. The seemingly perfect doctor's wife appears to be the victim. However, the opposite. Cold and calculating, and wants REVENGE.

HUSBAND: Charming. Narcissistic. Good-looking. A doctor. Money. A secret affair. The husband thinks his wife would never suspect. He has been so careful. Now he will have his mistress back, and he will have it all. Life could not be better. Little does he know what is to come.

Meet Fern and Drew Devine. Who is the psychopath?

From the city residing in Manchester, England now moving to a waterside home that overlooks Solway First, between England and Scotland. A quaint remote seaside village town, Arberness.

Drew, the doctor, was having an affair back in Manchester with Alice (who is married to Rory). She broke it off and moved with her hubby to this quaint village, Arberness. Rory is in IT and can work from anywhere.

Drew, the entitled doctor, decides he will follow Alice (without telling her). Sells their city house, buys this idyllic seaside home and moves his wife, Fern, to try and rekindle his affair with Alice.

Of course, Alice is unhappy when she discovers he has followed her there. The nerve to invade her space—appalled. So maybe Drew's plan was not the best idea...you think? But he is persistent.

Fern is not happy moving from the city to the countryside. But Drew convinces her they can spend more time together as his patient load will be less. Yeah, right? However, it is all about what Drew wants, and he usually gets his way.

Well, that is about to change.

Alice tries to be happy in the new town with her hubby. She even gets involved with some community work with Alice and meets her hubby, Rory. She even invites them over for dinner.

Fern knows more than you think. Soon Drew wears down Alice, and their affair starts up again. He thinks Fern is unaware of his dirty secrets.

However, Alice has a plan of her own. It is well-planned and executed.

Now, who has the upper hand? Who is the mouse, and who is the cat? Predator or prey?

Drew has his secrets, and Fern has hers. How far will Fern go to keep her secrets? Never underestimate a woman.

Told from POVs Drew and Fern past and present and one month later. We get to hear from both sides.

The author cleverly pulls out a few more twists that will have your jaws dropping, and the final jab (Epilogue) adds a new cat-and-mouse game that will leave you wickedly smiling. How well do we know those closest to us?

THE DOCTOR'S WIFE crackles with dark energy— in the vein of Kaira Rouda's BEST DAY EVER (best dark humor), an addictive twisty domestic suspense of deception and betrayal that will destroy more than one marriage— more than one life.

An entertaining popcorn thriller, clever and disturbing—however, I wish it had a little more sarcastic dark humor. Even though I did not enjoy it quite as much as The Couple in the Cabin (his BEST, I have read thus far and Top books of 2022) and his recent holiday thriller, The New Year's Party; however, THE DOCTOR'S WIFE had no likable characters but was a fun, unpredictable twisty suspense.

I have recently discovered Daniel, enjoying his newsletters and books and making my way through his backlist with many audiobooks and e-books in between all my ARC and new releases.

If you enjoy US authors Kaira Rouda or Kimberly Belle, (or Freida McFadden, Miranda Rijks, K.L. Slater, and Valerie Keogh), give Daniel a whirl! Always fun to see what secrets lie behind marriages and closed doors.

Thanks to #Bookouture and #NetGalley for a gifted ARC.

Another amazingly written story in this intriguing series with excellent pacing, perfectly developed characters and story line… is there anything else you could ever need? Highly recommended. Very highly recommended.

Another brilliant book from one of my favourite authors which was a twisty read that kept me on the edge of my seat all the way.

It was well written as usual, great characters who I soon got to know, all perfectly described and everything brought together to a satisfactory conclusion, what more can I say other than will there be a follow-up, who knows?

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this brilliant ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this copy!!

Doctor Drew and his wife Fern live the city life. Fast paced, heavy patient load and stressful paperwork and long hours. Drew decides to give that all up and asks Fern to move to a small town where life is simple and less chaotic. Fern agrees as Drew has changed in the last 6 months of their marriage. Moody and short and stressed. What Fern doesn’t know is why he wants to move so abruptly. Or does she?? Drew was having an affair with Alice and when she decided to end it and move with her husband to a small town to work on her marriage, Drew decided to follow her.

This somewhat fast paced domestic thriller is what I live for! I enjoyed the back and forth chapters between Drew and Fern, although I wish we would have gotten Alice’s point of view. This was my first book from this author and it certainly did not disappoint!

So the premise sounded good in this book. Told from the revolving first-person viewpoints of the husband and the wife, this book was a bit repetitive when switching from the husband to the wife, and I found the plot a little contrived.
What I really struggled with was the husband's personality. How Fern could stay married to him when he was such an obvious narcissist was a bit of a stretch for me. the ending quite honestly, was predictable.
3 stars from me.

Fern is married to Doctor Drew Devlin, but things are not what they seem. Drew is harbouring a secret, but what he doesn't realise is that his wife is also holding a secret... and she will stop at nothing to get revenge...

Another brilliant book by Daniel Hurst who is my favourite author, his books are just fantastic. The plot of this one was clever and surprising with lots of shocking twists and turns. Loved it!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

Drew, a successful, big-city doctor, has cheated on his wife with a beautiful girl who has enraptured his senses. After his mistress, Alice, calls off the affair, he follows both her and her husband (Rory) to their small town in hopes of rekindling the relationship. Of course, Fern, his wife, is along for the ride, and what she knows won't hurt her, right?

Except Fern is much smarter and more aware of her circumstances than she seems. So why would a picturesque doctor's wife willingly move away from her friends to the small town where her husband's mistress resides? Why is she so friendly and welcoming to everyone... including Alice?

This book kept me up late reading! There is nothing like a good heart-pounding thriller to help you get your cardio in. In a game of cat and mouse, the cat and the mouse are always shifting. Who is the predator and who is the prey? The ending of The Doctor's Wife has some clever twists that keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. What is scarier than not knowing the person who is supposed to love you the most? Perhaps, it is knowing them too well.

I loved this e-ARC and cannot wait until the hard copies are published. Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst, and the publishers at Bookouture for giving me the early release in exchange for a review!

Another great thriller by Daniel. A good storyline with plenty of twists and turns and an ending I wasn't expecting. I don't know how he manages to write these books so quick but im glad he does. Can't wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book and author.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Doctor’s Wife. I have to say this one took awhile to get into, the writing conversations felt juvenile and the main male character was a despicable character BUT WHOAAAAAAA what a TWIST!!!!!!!! All of a sudden this book got sooooo Good! The female character was crazy and you never knew what was going to happen. This finally got to be such a good read, I truly enjoyed it after the first twist!!!

Drew Devlin is a successful doctor living in Manchester, England with his dutiful wife Fern. On the outside, the two seem like a happy, respectable couple.. But appearances can be deceiving.. Drew is intelligent, attractive and very charming. But Drew is also a selfish and self serving cheat. He is happily carrying on an affair with a beautiful woman named Alice, who he cannot seem to get enough of and will do anything to keep this affair going. But Alice’s conscience gets the best of her and she decides to move out of town and start again with her husband Rory. However, Drew doesn’t give up that easily and is soon suggesting to his wife Fern that they two need to move to a new place.. Is Fern truly oblivious to her husbands motives for the move? Or has she caught on to his deception? And once the couple has moved to the new town that is also now home to Alice and her husband Rory, will Drew be able to win back his ex-lovers affections? (All the while keeping both Fern and Rory in the dark) This was a good novel that jumped between Fern and Drew’s prospective throughout the story. The book dragged a bit at parts but the twist and unforeseen ending made up for this lag. I enjoyed this novel and gave it a 3 star rating.
