Daniel Hurst is an auto-buy for me. He not only does lies and deceit well, but he can tell a story from a woman's point of view flawlessly.

I loved how Fern lulls Drew into thinking she went along with his idea to move to a small village even though she loves her life in the city. Drew thinks he has gotten away with a grand deception, but he has no idea what's coming! What is Fern planning and how will she pull it off?

I loved how the characters grew and morphed in this quick read that will keep you guessing.

Thanks to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for an advance review copy by one of my favorite authors!

When you pick up a Daniel Hurst book you know you are in for a treat! The prologue sucked me in and from there I had a difficult time putting this book down. I devoured it in a day!

This wasn’t your typical husband cheating on naïve wife trope– it was much more than that! It’s a twisted and clever story of a handsome doctor and his wife who move to the English seaside for a new beginning, except the wife knows more than he thinks. Not everything is what it seems, and you don't know who to trust! I was completely immersed in this story. If you are looking for an entertaining and bingeable read, look no further!

Thank you to #NetGalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for the opportunity to read an advance copy of THE DOCTORS WIFE, to be published
January 31, 2023. This domestic thriller started out slow and built to an unbelievable crescendo. It's written from two points of view - the wife and her doctor husband, and occurs during about a year and a half of their marriage. Daniel Hurst fans will likely eat this up. It covers the affected period of relationship in the marriage of the doctor and his wife. Great read.

perspectives, Drew, the doctor, and his wife Fern. The couple moved from Manchester to a small village in Arberness, Scotland. Secrets, betrayal, and revenge is the theme of this domestic thriller. I really enjoyed reading both characters point of view of the events that are happening. Doctor Drew who really likes his status is being a terrible husband he had an affair and the women he had an affair with broke it off and moved away. Drew wasn't over the relationship, so he moved his wife and himself to the town where the women he had an affair with.

Neither character is likable, but you feel for Fern. There are some twists to the story near the end and the book ended on a cliffhanger that makes it feel like there could be another book in the future. The book was a quick read and a page turner. I enjoyed finding out about Doctor Drew and Fern. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes domestic thrillers.

This is the first time I read from this author and like I said it was an enjoyable story to me and I would like to read more from this author in the future. I gave the story five stars and want to see if there is a second book that tells more about what happens to fern.

This book was amazing! I can honestly say that I loved hating all of the characters. There was not one that didn't have something coming to them. And in true Daniel Hurst form, he delivered to his audience just what we like to see in his books. This one was hard to put down and I am so glad I finished it in time to let book lovers know, THIS IS A MUST READ if you are a Hurst fan. This one was not as must a mystery as it was a "you will get what's coming to you" read. This book was far from a mystery, which was what I expected... but after reading prologue, it really told the plot in the beginning. The book was still really good, with lots of twist. I love the way they go back and forth through time slots. and also like being able to see the storyline through the characters eyes.. HUrst has done it again!!! Run! Download! READ!

It’s been a while since I read a book in one sitting but I’ve just done it with this completely unputdownable and page turning amazeballs read. Wow The Doctor’s Wife is definitely one of those reads . This book had me hooked from the very start with its twisty story full of suspense and the characters who you won’t know who to trust. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it certainly won’t be my last.

Dreadful people. Between Fern and Drew I'm not sure which is worse, and Rory and Alice are not far behind. I found the characters a little stilted and wooden, almost as if they were playing a part, and couldn't really connect with them. This was a fab opportunity to create a wicked, wicked villian, but I fear the author missed the boat a bit, but overall not bad, but not my favourite either.

3 and a half stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

Daniel Hurst does not disappoint, and The Doctor's Wife is a twisty tale of adultery and revenge. Loved the coastal setting, and the premise of a husband moving his family to be closer to his mistress was intriguing. The pace was great throughout, and the ending certainly came as a surprise! Look forward to reading his next book.

This is a book that will keep you guessing. The doctors wife knows more than everyone thinks she does. She knows his secrets and is determined to get even.

I’ll admit that I could not guess many of the twists in this book. I love that because I was surprised when they jumped up. I really enjoyed this book.

Drew is a doctor who has many secrets about his past in the medical profession. Only his wife knows about those secrets and so far she’s kept them and preserved their image of being the perfect couple. However, as she discovers that there are more lies that her husband has been hiding, she is not so forgiving.
This was an enjoyable, quick read for me. It was told from the points of view of two characters who can be easily labeled as psychopaths, which made it a refreshing change from other books whose main characters were annoyingly perfect and idealistic all the time. I enjoyed the second part of the book a lot more than the first, maybe because I did not prefer the chapters from Drew’s point of view. The fact that this book mainly focuses on four characters made the anticipation of the major events or the culprits very easy, although I did not see the ending coming.

The Doctor's Wife is a domestic thriller. The story is told from two different perspectives and starts in the present and alternates to the past. The story starts with a body being found on the beach. At this point we don't know why or who did it.

Dr. Drew Devlin and his wife Fern are moving from Manchester to a small village in Arberness, Scotland. Drew is excited because he is getting exactly what he wants to be near his mistress and love of his life. Fern, on the other hand, has agreed to the move but is not happy and would rather stay in Manchester.

There are many secrets, lots of betrayal, with revenge being the focus throughout. I didn't care about any of the characters which are not very likeable. I did like the story even though it was a tad bit predictable. I was hoping for a surprise twist but that didn't happen. Again, still a good quick afternoon read.

I'm never disappointed with this authors books and this one is no exception. You are led to believe that everything is fine and life rolling along smoothly then revelation after revelation turns everything upside down. Fern and her husband, Drew, a doctor appear to have a happy marriage but things aren't always as they seem. A clever plot

Since I haven't read a book by Daniel Hurst, I thought I would give this one a try! I love a psychological thriller with a doctor as the main character.

Dr. Drew Devlin is a smart and charming narcissist. He thinks his wife, Fern, doesn't have a clue about him, but she's one step ahead of him. I loved the dual POV's. Drew's chapters were so fun to read. I also loved the British seaside setting. The twists were great, and I couldn't wait to see what the outcome was going to be! This book was a wild ride!

I'm looking forward to reading more by Daniel Hurst!

The Doctor's wife # NetGalley
Wow wow wow. I have read all Daniel Hurts books. But seriously in my personal opinion this definitely has got to be the best. The doctor Drew talks his wife fern to move onto the country side from Manchester. Only Drew is fixated with another women. That’s the only reason Drew wanted. To move. He doesn’t know Fern is aware. Fern befriend Alice although it’s her intention to make Alice and Drew squirm.. I laughed at some parts, felt Ferns pain in others Drew thinks he’s got everything. However fern had other plans. I found the Doctor’s wife riviting from page one almost. I literally was hooked on the book. Daniel Hurts never ceases to amaze me. Just when you think you have read his best Novak then bang. He knocks out another masterpiece. Most definitely recommend you read this one

This book was ok but it felt like it was missing something. It was predictable in a way that wasn’t great. I like the writing style but the characters left me wanting a bunch

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really wanted to like this book. The summary sounded so good! However, it left me disappointed.

I didn't like the author's writing style at all, which didn't set me off on a great path. I found it choppy and there was just no flow. I'd have honestly thought it was a new inexperienced author if I hadn't seen that this author wrote other books. It just wasn't the style of writing I prefer.

The plot really had potential. But, I hated the characters. They were terrible people but they also just didn't have any depth. Again, there was potential, but it never came to fruition. We were supposed to at some point believe the wife was some social deviant or had some serious psychological problems, but we never got anything in a back story in order to sell that idea that kept being hinted at.

I also guessed the twist to this really early on, and it wasn't that exciting. To that note, the ending had a second twist, which just really seemed too easy. Then, the epilogue comes in and was just ridiculous.

I'm giving this book three stars because there was plot potential, I liked the setting, and I liked the neighbor, Audrey. Honestly, she should have been utilized for a plot twist! She should have witnessed the crime and something happened from that angle. But, there were multiple plot holes and errors that should have been picked up on by the author or editor.

I think this will be my first and last book by this author. He really might do better just writing from the perspective of males. I was also immediately turned off at the beginning when the female character said something along the lines of bein nearly forty so she is not at all concerned with bein sexy at this point in her life. Because 40 is the new 70? Again, this author just wasn't for me.
